  1. Hello Here is my little rover from the utility sandbox, equipped with remote control, some solar panels and battery Working perfectly on lauchpad, can be activated and can be used for exploring.... Now here is the same when docked laterraly on a tank. It is still activable BUT.... When I click on the left docking port, the docking port on the rover, here is what I see I click on "decouple node", the rover falls on his wheels on ground and then becomes completely inactive. It is impossible to activate it. What is happening?? To build it, I built the rover, then I placed the 2 docking ports on it, the second one being reversed (as male and female plug) Then I mounted it on the tank. By the way mounting such a thing, with a docking port, lateraly on the tank was very tricky, it tooks me dozens of tries before I succeed..... Is there a particular way to do it so that it is not tricky to mount it laterally and so that the rover can be activated once on the ground?
  2. I heard of this for debug or when you got some difficulties to place some parts. Is it really this combination, I tried on my Mac and it is not working, it does not open any window. Can some mac player tell me how to do? thank's
  3. I use mechjeb for lift off and ascent. Because time is very long, not interesting to follow a path, the autopilot does it better. But always land manually, that's the most exiting.
  4. I launched 2000T . 6 asparagus big 135T rocketry tanks, each with the biggest engine, around another center one, the whole thing being surrounded by 12 rockojumbo 64 with 12 mainsails engines. Payload at the top is a core station with a tanker (the biggest rocketry tank 135t) plus some RCs tanks, the whole thing being equipped with 6 asparagus 820L rocketry tanks, each with a liquid engine (power 500). It arrives on Mun orbit with still 4 tanks full and weight should be around 180T. There is certainly a big waste in there, because i have not still try to use Atomic engine. With only the stock parts i launched up to 600T

With 6 asparagus big Rocketry tanks around 1 big rocketry, all seven with the most powerfull Griffon engine and those 6 Big Rocketry maintank surrounded by 12 asparagus (4 by 4) stock mainsail, each with the most powerful stock engine you can send up tu 200T in orbit around mun. The asparagus stages are the 12 stock mainsails, followed by the 6 Rocketry. Those can send a full equipped core station attached to the biggest Rocketry tank with 6 radial tanks and engines, 4 of them will be used for orbital manoeuvers and the last 2 will stay with the full main tank and the core station full equipped.

  7. Hi My game .20 is running perfectly but I am not sure My KSP folder is well organized. When I read the new parts loading system .20 about add on on different threads, it looks like a big mess. So, does somebody knows what we are suppose to do with all the add on folders There are about six kind of folders: -Parts -Ships >SPH >VAB PluginData > folder name > name.cfg Plugins > name.dII Source > alot of folders > name.cs Saves > scenarios >name.sfs >training >name.sfs My KSP folder .20 is the same than the .19, except that there is now a folder GameData>Squad with all the stocks parts. I left all the other folders concerning the mod as they were on.19 Everything seems to run perfectly, even the mods not updated for .20, Except Subassembly loader and Romfarer that I removed. Is that the way it should be, or do we have to change those folders concerning mods and put them in a mod folder?
  8. I got similar problem, between 400Om and 6000m, my ship encountered its 6 stability launchers and was exploded by them. The only way to avoid it is to take off without stability launcher, which quite difficult. I succeeded with a ship standing alone on its 5 Griffon rocketry engines...
  9. Yes sometimes, even when the whole stack is not wobbly, it seems that the engine base is not aligned with the tank. But I can't see any mean to add a strut on the engine base and then fix the other end on the tank
  10. HI Sometimes engines are moving dangerously beneath their own tank. I tried to put some struts between engine and tank to reinforce the whole structure but it seems really difficult to fix. Does it really worth ? Can we really do it ?

Hi I got an AZERTY keyboard and I got some tricky issue with control mapping One time the game seems to see my Keyboard as AZERTY, one time it seems to see a QWERTY So it is mixing pitch yaw and roll.... When I map the control,for example, I assign S for pitch up on my AZERTY keyboard which is W on QWERTY, the game see W on control mapping, it indicates W and when i touch S it acts like W, so till this point it's fine. Mapping is finished, I play, I stop playing, quit the game, come back for another play and when playing i feel there is a mix somewhere. I go to Control mapping and I see this time that my pitch up is W from AZERTY and that time the game is seeing an AZERTY Keyboard, so it's a mess and I must redefine all the controls.... did anybody experienced such issue?
  12. Well that's good news, becauuse before developping the game further, I think the major improvement is to optimize it. It's one of the best game I ever play and it would be a shame not to do it, because there is a lot of very interesting add on, you can build whatever you think of, try whatever rocket you want and after 2 hours building, it would lag at launch....!!!, it would lack when docking... Please KSP team, do your best, improve use of RAM, yes you can....

Hi I play KSP 0.19 with a iMac 2,8GHZ Intel core i5 and 12Go RAM, ATI radeon HD 750 1024MB, Mac OS 10.7.5 Well, as soon as I build big rockets or as soon as small rockets are docked on my Space station, the parts of this space station are growing and the game bean slowing. The time counter for time warp 1 is yellow, every second in the game last 2 ou 3, sometimes 5s in real life. So it is not possible to dock more than one big tank or one lander on a space station to refuel. If you want something strong as space station you need to add many struts, same thing for big rockets. The game don't use all my RAM, when I played, more than 6Go are allways free. So that's a pity i must refrain from building to big rockets or dock more than one rocket on space station, more than 300 parts and it seems that's time is slowing, at launch the time counter is yellow... Same for docking, docking at half or one third of speed takes a very long time.... Any idea, any improvement ?
  14. Here 2 of my landers, fully equipped with ORDA mechJeb, HydroTech RCS, photovoltaic panel and so on.... You can see the total Mass of each and the TWR on the jun.The lightest 11tons, the heaviest 44 tons I chose this 4 tanks around main one configuration because it makes landing very easy. There is only one engine on the main tank, with cross feed. Best for balancing and steering, lighter than a 4 or 5 engines config, you can even separate the 4 tanks if needed. They are able to land to the mun and take from the mun for a refueling, assuming you arrive in orbit on a main Rocko max tank and separate this one during de orbiting.

This morning I used the Scott Manley Method to approach my SS1, I was afraid to kill a differential velocity of 150m/S with my 4 LVT45 mounted on my Rocko Tank but it was quite easy to do it just 30s before minimum closest approach point which was 200m. So I stopped at 600m and let the target approach at 2,5m/s then at 350m I used ORDA automatic docking. ORDA has improved as it is not using so much Mono to dock. I filled completely my KSP 3,5m Tank and I kept one of my Rocko tank with its four engines to undock and try some manual docking. Hope I won't crash in my SS1 Here it is
  16. Well ok, thanks for those replies. With the vid it is quite easier to understand how to decrease relative speed. The fact is that I am using a rockomax tank to Rendez vous on my space station to fill its big KSP tank and even if rockomax is well balance it is not so easier to maneuver than a small ship.....

DMagic thanks for explanations. iEvermore, I mean, I target a maneuvers that make my closest approach point at 500m from target, then I burn and after 2 or 3 maneuvers I get this closest approach point at 500m from my target, but I am still 20mn or more from this point and my relative speed to target is around 75 to 125m/s, I warp and even if the speed is lightly decreasing, I need to burn to be at the 0,5 to 2m/s when I will be at my closest approach point. The fact is that when I burn in order to do this, my closest approach point increase dramatically so that I need to perform others node maneuvers to decrease this closest approach point. I thought that if I succeed to align perfectly my retrograde with one of the pink icon, I could burn without loosing this point or without increasing it dramatically.

When performing a Rendez vous, assuming that you have done all the maneuvers to align orbit and approach the target at less than 500m, how do you kill relative velocity without increasing this small distance of separation ? Even when the retrograde vector (yellow one) is nearly align with the retrograde vector of the target (pink one), every burn to decrease my relative velocity increase the render vous distance between me and the target. I tried burning on the pink target retrograde, burning my retrograde, I burnt to align the yellow retrograde my retrograde vector on the target retrograde (pink), it always make relative speed decrease but it also always make the rendez vous distance increase toom ugh.
  19. Hi Mikael This seems to be a great mod. I looked at the vid, but I still have some questions as there is manual as fot MechJeb. i am just not sure of what need to be installed, on the targeted ship and on each dock of the tatgeted ship or space station. Do i need to install the part with the cam and the docking target on every dock on the targeted ship I want to dock, or do i need only to install the target on ever dock or near every dock? Do i have to install a stack Jeb or a radial Jeb on the target ship or only on the ship using the Jeb,? I got a big tank with several docking port on my space station, do I need to install a docking target near each port or do i need to install the part with docking cam and docking target and then put my clamp o tron Jr dock on it? Thanks for answer
  20. I use kerbal engineer redux, but an excel sheet listing all engines and tanks would allow to see easier those characteristics and may be to combine them, before trying in the VAB. In the VAB you have to do a lot of manipulations when building. I would like a kind of pre plan to choose the correct tanks and engines before building so that when building up i have not to try several combinations to see what is more effective.....
  21. Is there any excel sheet, listing all the engines and tanks with their diffrents characteristics in order make precises calculations about total Dv, lift off capacity, payload capacity and so on when building up a rocket?
  22. Thks Francesco and Merisan You confirm the Clamp o Tron Jr is an exposed docking port and need not to open? And wherever is placed the dock on the tank, even at the top like on my photo, can I transfer Fuel or RCS?
  23. Hello I have perform an action group to open my clamp o tron Jr on this reservoir. When I place my rocket on the launch pad, I can try all other action group like open light, open photovoltaic cells...etc and see them working. When I tried the action group to open my Clamp o tron Jr, I do not see it working on the launchpad. Questions are: Is it normal ? Do they open like the other Clamp o tron? Is it well placed on my rocket to allow tranfer of fuel or RCS Here is the photo There no toggle action for Clamp o tron, Is the choice "Decouple Node" correct to open it in order to dock on the station ? Another question is: I can see "control from here" when I mouse over the clamp o tron Jr, but nothing happens when I click on it on the launch pad. What I want is check if it is working correctly before launch. Thanks for answers
  24. Hello IsaacHeron Can you even transfer Fuel using Clamp O tron Jr on a tripod docking as your photo? Which add on do you use to build your tripod dock ?
