  1. I have tried whale meat.I have also eaten dolphin, horse, dog, and cat. I do not find any moral issues with eating animal species other than humans. Those meateaters who get their panties in a bunch with whaling should realize that a significant population of this world also find eating pork offensive. Or killing cows to be blasphemy.
  2. Sorry, its probably me that's over complicating the wording here... Basically, the forward/aft component of surface velocity, plus the left/right component of surface velocity. (fore/aft and left/right in terms of the spacecraft) As implemented in the Apollo LEM: If the needles are centered, you are in a stationary hover.
  3. On a related note, an option to remap/reassign the trim keys would be also apperciated!
  4. Another request for an additional variable please. Horizontal surface velocity, split into lateral and longitudinal components along the aircraft/spacecraft axis. Looking to create a display for precision hovering/vertical landing, in place of the navball vector display that gets very twitchy near zero vertical speed. Many thanks again!
  5. Where {TAS} is true airspeed {EAS} is equivalent airspeed {p0} is the air density at sea level in the International Standard Atmosphere (15°C and 1013.25 hectopascals) (density of 1.225 kg/m3) {p} is the density of the air in which the aircraft is flying
  6. Mihara, Could I trouble you for an example for a simple display using your JSIVariableLabel? Many thanks!
  7. 25:47 -> end Just as relevant today as it was then.
  8. A most impressive addition! I'd like to request an additional variable for Equivalent airspeed (EAS) which directly relates to the effectiveness of aerodynamic surfaces. {TAS} is true airspeed {EAS} is equivalent airspeed {p0} is the air density at sea level in the International Standard Atmosphere (15°C and 1013.25 hectopascals) (density of 1.225 kg/m3) {p} is the density of the air in which the aircraft is flying Please consider adding this variable - its been the one essential thing that has been missing for flying planes in IVA with FAR.
  9. I stand corrected! Looks like it was a feature unique to mcdonnell douglas aircraft (as it looks like the old f15s hud had the same display convention). Thanks for the pointing out your reference.
  10. Hi trueborn, just want to point out that the speedtape on all real HUDs flow the other way, with smaller values on the bottom, larger values on top.
  11. www.nasa.gov/ Due to the lapse in federal government funding, this website is not available. We sincerely regret this inconvenience.
  12. The only winners in this race are those who keep running, keep dreaming. Those who think they have "won", have truly lost.
  13. Current tech turbine engines (Brayton cycle) are thermally less efficient then diesels and have comparatively poor fuel efficiency. They do however have great power to weight ratios, hence why they are commonly used on aircraft. There are basically no turbine powered trains or ships in use outside of the military today.
  14. Parts list for aircraft: Engine? Check. Wings? Check. Pilot? ...hmmm, well lets put him inside the engine!
  15. If I may add my 2 cents to the stall horn request... Although stall modeling is FAR specific, it is a function of angle of attack. A user configurable aoa light/buzzer that goes off after exceeding a certain AOA, similar to the rad-alt light should serve this function. I´d also like to request an EAS/IAS gauge, it is quite a handy bit of info to get a feel for how effective your control surfaces are at a particular altitude or atmosphere. Been trying for a while to code my own display, with no sucess.
  16. First of all, thank you for your efforts! This is exactly the kind of baby step I was looking for to give this sort of thing a try. However I'm a little stuck - I've managed to compile the dll, but loading a craft with the part module freezes the loading of the KSP world on launch (just shows empty space). Looking at the log file, its looking for TacWindowTest.cfg, which does not exist. Where should I go from here? What values should be in the cfg? Many thanks!
  17. If you look at this graphically... ... going straight up just doesn't make sense.
