  1. Just a quick question about Nitrogen and EVA's. I found some posts on the previous thread asking if it's a bug or a feature, people seemed to think it was a bug and couldn't work it out. Basically, I EVA and all the time the Kerbal is outside the ship, Nitrogen is being used up at a shocking rate. As soon as I board the ship again, it instantly drops to the normal rate. This doesn't feel like it's being used to repressurise, it literally looks like the door is being left open until I board? Also I ran out of Nitrogen last Mun mission (was still on the surface when I ran out), but I still made it home just fine with the 2 Kerbal's aboard some 8 days later, I don't quite get what it's for. Edit: Nevermind I've worked it out! Bob took 330 'Atmosphere' on EVA in his spacesuit. The Nitrogen was used to fill that 330 in the main craft. Bob re-enters the ship, being there's no room to add his almost 330 atmosphere back into the cockpit, it's dumped and lost. Solution - turn off the pressure control pump before going on EVA. Uses just 50 Nitrogen to EVA, that's more reasonable!
  2. Modding! At least the game we already have gameplay-wise (not missing half of it like The Sims does each iteration). But yeah, the same plus what they're promising (interstellar.. not fussed there), base building, we'll see. Just modding so we can fix or improve anything wrong with it
  3. There are mods which add more systems, you just need ram and to run in 64-bit mode and add the mods. I added another system to go along with Interstellar, and sure enough there is a whole extra star system waaaay out there. There are a few people have made to be added. I run countless mods, Outer planets, this extra system, everything maxed, 8k textures etc etc, no crashing problems (I do have 16gb ram, a 4770k i7 and a gtx 1060 though - I wouldn't go any lower than that spec for the mods I run).
  4. That's under the heartbeat monitor button (dunno the proper name!), you can click a ship name in there and disable messages for each type of alert.
  5. Awesome, I also thought that as well. Will add that to my cfg, thanks.
  6. Quick question I can't seem to find the answer or that anyone else asked. Shouldn't the greenhouse require CO2 and create Oxygen? Is there currently no way of making oxygen? I was just thinking of planetary bases, which it seems at the moment can't be self sustaining as we can't make oxygen.
  7. I was stupid - tried this mod in 1.0.4, although I clearly don't need it. Running in OpenGL is a much better option. But.. How do I undo what it's done to my base textures? They are all very poor quality now. I tried re-adding it to my gamedata and putting everything to False, even in the global file. It's clearly not acting on my textures now, but it wont restore the old ones. Any help?
  8. Ok Reveral you pointed me in the right direction at least. I downloaded a .cfg file which included all the planets. Thanks to Pingopete I guess! https://github.com/Pingopete/RVE-KSP-1.0.4/blob/master/RVE/EVE/Terrain/terrain.cfg
  9. Is it just me, or does the Mun look awful? I mean it looks great in 'system' view, but when you have a ship orbiting, it looks plain awful even though I'm using a higher res texture. It looks much better when I remove EVE. It's as if it's stuck in low detail mode, when you first leave system view and go to system view, when you see the textures gradually go higher and higher detail. They basically don't do that, staying on a super low detail. I haven't got to try other planets. Kerbin is fine.
  10. No new posts? I'm getting 2 new pages for every page I read! Food soon - it will be out when I'm done eating maybe
  11. The pages are coming faster than I can read them!
  12. My tummy is excited even!
  13. Try vanilla, get frustrated at the science system, then patiently wait for BTSM to get updated. Or maybe I'll try editing the sciencedefs xml file so they are similar to BTSM to get by on
  14. Here's what happened for me every release since science was added Get hyped. Play the new version. Remember how crappy the science system is (repeating experiments ugh) and how backwards it all feels. Wait for the BTSM mod to get updated before playing again. Enjoy.
  15. This mod looks great, would also like to see it updated for 0.90, it doesn't show anything at as is.
  16. Sounds to me like some of you people should really try the Better than Starting Manned mod which will provide you much more of a challenge. Honestly I could never go back to the standard game after playing it, it improves it that much. It's basically designed for gameplay, challenge and logical progression.
  17. Install mods like TAC life support, Deadly Re-entry and Engine ISP difficulty and then see if you make millions
  18. One thing to question here, all you guys with over 1 mil so fast, you are clearly veterans - do you revert failed launches? Do you even have failed launches? Something a beginner would have a lot of. Also if it's so easy, why not add some mods to spice things up? I added Deadly Re-entry, life support mod and the Engine ISP difficulty adjustment - WOW it's tough with all that - much more fun. Added to that I did no reverting, and by about mission 5 I was dead. Not enough cash to make a launch that would earn enough cash to carry on. I was basically needing a 20k+ rocket just to 'almost' make orbit (and I didn't even make orbit!) - fun times. My last attempt I threw all my cash at it to try to make it up there and still failed. I'm now trying it minus the Engine ISP difficulty and finding things a bit nicer - I think that was a step too far for me
  19. I still remember when it clicked for me, it's just learning what the pro/retro markers on the navball are. If you're 200m/s faster than the Kerbal your trying to dock with, simply burn towards the retro marker (circle with the x in it) and that will come down to 0/ms. Voila, you are moving exactly the same speed as the Kerbal. Easy to refine things from there.
  20. Please return to your seats - Like an aeroplane when they tell you to return to your seats for landing?
  21. Ok what's that.. a build that says "scratchpad" instead of experimentals
  22. I really wanted it today since I'm off after a minor op, probably tomorrow as well. Just a "It's definitely not going to be today" would be nice Another thing is the hype in me has now peaked and has started dying down now all the vids and everything are 'out there', I'm sure I'm not alone there. Are these bugs so game breaking that they can't just be hotfixed a day or two later just like every other game does? They certainly don't sound like it, and we are still in the alpha stage after all. I'd also like to see that pre-release version that goes out to media and such go out to all the main modders so they can start updating a little earlier.
  23. One of the planet packs had two stars orbiting each other in this fashion, and used an empty point in the middle as suggested. It worked just fine. So yes it's possible and has even been done.
