  1. Judging by those stats the more technologically advanced Comms DTS-M1 is six times the weight and double the price of default Communotron 16. It also transmits data at a slower rate and a higher cost, while having only incrementally better impact and temperature tolerance parameters. It's just not worth using for anything other than aesthetics that way. Is that how it's supposed to be? Am I missing something? Are there some hidden stats? Will it get better further down the tech tree?
  2. My problem with career mode is also tech-tree related. The order of unlocking parts there is almost entirely opposite of my usual ship progression. While I can understand the logic behind it (including tank sizes, yes), it feels uncomfortable as hell. I also feel forced into playing it, because science is disabled in sandbox for some weird reason.
  3. I heard that Yuri Gagarin loved to say that he wasn't sure if he was first man in space, or the last dog.And his "Let's roll!" at the start is clearly something Jeb would say.
  4. Try rotating layers around too. However, there is a different solution, which also used on planets in other game: Planetary Annihilation uses sets of decals, randomly applied to the surface. It looks slightly repetitive, but lack of common grid makes it a lot more natural than everything else. Not sure, how it will work for a lot larger planets in KSP, through.
  5. Do you have SAS on? It can try ro rotate rover out of the plane it's standing on, applying way too much pressure on one wheel.
  6. KSP is already educational. Orbital physics and basic rocket science. There is no need to put those things in. And photos of space don't even teach anything. They just look fancy.
  7. Brilliant. Jeb with a joystick in hands! Sputnik had four comm antennas, not three.
  8. When he has to choose between gameplay and realism (common sense), good game designer always picks gameplay. That wat makes him a good game designer.
  9. I don't know about yours, but my kerbals are focused on safety. And there are a lot of people who play this game with this goal in mind. Piling up the bodies before player can even do something basic is really bad way of introducing him to the game. There should be at least an option to have a probe on the first launch. Heck, Stayputnik is even modelled after fitst satellite. Why can't it be first here too?
  10. Please no. Building planes is actually harder than building rockets. Both in game and in real life. Forcing players to start with planes is unnecessary frustrating complexity.
  11. Yes, this is kinda confusing. I was really scared when I saw flight in progress after really long and complicated returning mission.
  12. They are more like goblins or gretchins. Small and technology-oriented.
  13. If you Alt+Tab out of the game it won't pause itself. Is this what you need?
