  1. Pressing F5 at any point when your ship is not throttled up will quicksave, which can be loaded by holding F9.
  2. First off, as long as you transmit the findings, you get science, you don't need to land it unless you don't transmit. Secondly, you are only able to earn a certain amount of science in each "biome" aka mountains, tundra, low orbit, high orbit, etc. The only places iirc that have been given a ton of biomes are the Mun and Kerbal, the rest are yet to be implemented. Which brings us to thirdly, this is a beta game with a first stage implementation of a career mode, I'm sure it will have a ton of updates to balance it out and make it a better all-round experience.
  3. Wow, that's an awful lot of science bays wouldn't it end up being the same science compared to bringing one? Either way, that's a pretty nice craft and landing, nice one.
  4. Well, if it's an Eve only expedition you could just transmit all the data home and leave it there... otherwise I'd suggest a well placed docking port... but don't listen to me, i've never even been to eve...
  5. Thanks, it's still pretty flippy when it hits >20m/s on steep slopes, which can destroy a few of the solar panels, but overall it keeps most peices intact and is easy to flip with the reaction wheel I just feel like rovers aren't as useful as a small sub-orbital lunar probe that can float over the surface would be more practical for science data.
  6. After a little structural reinforcement and a wheel upgrade, this is a lot more capable now. Includes seismic, temperature and atmospheric scanning capabilities, and transmitters to send the data home!
  7. I'll try this now. I'll check the weight now, and i'll be sure to upload it once it's fixed
  8. Thanks for the replies, the wheels are RoveMax Model S2. I can't tell the overall weight, is there a way to do it in the vanilla game? Also, I turn SAS & RCS off, and only use it if I need to tip.
  9. Hey KSP Forums! So I could use some help here, I have this rover, but on the Mun the wheels just keep buckling at the slightest mishap, is it to do with the weight? How can I counteract this? Heres what it has: 7 Modular Girder Segments 4 Z-400 Batteries SP-L 1x6 Solar Panel (backup) 8 OX-Stat Panels Clamp-o-tron Jr (incase solar panels become damaged, to recharge at a future recharging station) 2 Communotron 16's 2 Backup Communotron 88-88's Inline reaction wheel for extremely easy tip-correction Stratus-V rounded monopropellant tank (for 4 linear rcs ports on the bottom, for emergencies) Probodobodyne core for remote operation External comm seat for local control Ladder for easy access and some small science equipment with the goo bay. it has 4 wheels on the main body segment and 2 on the back and front extruding segments. Am I building it wrong? should it be more lightweight or something? I'd like a durable rover to drive around the Mun and Minmus for effective science work (this is career mode) Pics:
  10. Man that looked awesome! I'd love to see actual footage of it happening, would be a lot more epic with some tense music in the background
  11. Probably about 60%, have a satellite and lander on the Mun and Minmus, just took a rover to the mun to get different data from all the biomes, which became a heap of junk when I rolled on the solar panels... did an orbit to Eve too, but didn't manage to get close.
  12. Managed to unlock some jet parts in career mode, so obviously Bob had to ride shotgun... on top. I'm pretty new to this game so I don't know much about mods, but good grief how did you get it to look so good? (kerbin texture etc)
  13. Heh, I suppose I should, that was just a quick stock image I made a while ago that I thought would fit
  14. Thanks! I managed to land probes on Minmus and the Mun following Scott Manleys basic lander tutorial, I just can't seem to get anything to either with anything of my own design
