I'm 56.... I know nothing of this young persons site called .... reddit!!!!! (but I have heard of it) I'm too old to even start... or want to learning about it. If not for you posting it here, I'd never have seen it. I get the feeling Squad doesn't care about us... the loyal and faithful... they are more concerned about the heretics believing what they say... meaning... future customers... not us... the loyal and faithful who hunt bugs for them and generally help when we can.... they (sob!) don't care....

fair enough, but then when you post this.... Then maybe, just maybe, that was caused when you merged threads... But I happen to agree with you... this time.

So..... why wasn't this posted HERE in the first place, and why have the mdoerators, all respect to them, allowed the situation to get so out of hand? I know the concept of free speech... BUT... that isn't entirely true... its what I call "Freedom of speech with respect"... you can say what you like, provided you do not lie, or defame or post anything that can harm another person (or company in this case) and do you so by following the laws against defamation, slander and hate crimes.... Example.... I can say the devs concerned QUIT.... but I'd have to show proof that was the case because no where does it say they quit... further, I can claim I have freedom of speech, but no, I don't... its libel... against the devs who left Squad and Squad itself... So.... Why the hell was this allowed to go on for so long and get so out of hand? Why didn't Squad post that HERE.... isn't this THEIR home as well? Now I feel they have deserted us... they don't care about these forums... they tell strangers and not us?????? Its not going to die down any time soon... just like the ones saying the game is dead has been going on for months now... Sorry for the double post, I assumed (wrongly) that they would be merged.

Some of the things I have seen posted here about the recent departure of game devs is concerning... some think the devs quit... they may well have, but the message they posted on another site never said that... other comments are just as concerning. No matter which way you look at it... this is hurting the game, its future and its good name. Trying to combat it is a futile exercise.. So... I suggest Squad make a statement... ANYTHING.... than wait for this to die down... because I don't think it will. I am tired of trying to defend the game I love .. and YES.... I feel I do need to defend it seeing some of the accusations made against it posted on these forums... The same way I would defend a very close friend from nasty accusations.... We need this to stop, quickest way would be for Squad to say something... even though I think they don;t owe us a thing... someone has to end the speculation... Squad?

Wow.... I cannot wait to again go where no Kiwi has gone before....

PROVE they QUIT!!!!! Where does it say they quit.... come on... WHERE.... all it says is they are leaving, it never said they quit... PROOF or retraction!!!!

You started the thread, you could say SORRY and ask for it to be locked.... But to blame others for something you started.... seriously.... low....

Please.... proof that he "quit" .... all we know he left.... so, either provide proof he quit or retract your libellous statement.... Please.... proof again, its needed or your statement is a lie... As far as I know, he was a short term recruit, from the time he was hired to the release of 1.2 ..... so, provide proof or retract....

OH.... and there is lots of life left in a game like KSP... had it been Fallout New vegas, then you may be right... But KSP is an adventure... its open ended with no limits... they can add alternative realities tot he game and it would fit nicely.

One point to what you said, is it any of our business as to what is going on in squad... do we own shares in the company? no. I accept that there is much more going on than we have been told, but ... a witch hunt... will have the opposite effect of giving us answers. That is why its not good for anyone. The truth will always come out.... so we must wait. Speculating on this ...without all the facts (and the only facts we have is that some Devs have left...) is counter productive... even IF the moderators are happy with that situation.

because the difference is that I'm not talking about people who cannot respond.. those I am telling CAN and DO respond.... And that is why I am against the unfair negativity... they are classy people... what you are suggesting is that if I started a topic about you then you would be a classy person and not respond.. right... it doesn't make my topic any more right.... which is what I'm saying about this topic. I understand what you are saying about censorship, but to talk about people who cannot, or will not respond is hardly fair... and definitely NOT classy.

Firstly.... I never said the topic shouldn't be allowed... just the negativity... I never said the discussion should be censored... far from it... But when the devs in question cannot respond... probably because of their employment contract... or whatever, then allowances must be made for that very reason. Otherwise... seeking answers soon becomes a witch hunt ... and lets face it... its happening... THIS is how it should have been answered ASAP... There were other ways you could have handled the ...fear? Like... just asking those concerned via PM for their story... or just posted in support of the game, them and squad. here we are on the verge of 1.2 being released, which should be a good day... a celebration... and its devolved into a shambles of epic proportions... even IF you have tried to reassure those posting myths, as you say. yet... here we are... posting here... which is hardly celebrating a milestone in the games history. With all due respect to Vanamonde... I want this sorted so it NEVER happens again... so what if a lot of friends left the employ of Squad... its still there, its hiring new devs... meaning, new blood, new skills and new ideas... I don't want to see friends suggesting there is a conspiracy next time anyone leave the dev team... sure... its SAD that so many have left... but lets celebrate what they accomplished... what they did for the game... we have for months now endured ... talk... of the game development ending for whatever reason... and yet, here we are.... 1,2 being released shortly.. Well done guys. I suck at bug hunting... they scare me to death, I scream like a little girl at the sight of a spider... Oh wait.. you mean THOSE bugs... yeah, OK, same thing... I suppose.

rather than ask... demand? beg? for answers as to what is going on with KSP, I just want to say a few things... an alternative reality to some threads I have seen lately. Firstly... given the hype over the impending release of 1.2, I have no hesitation in believing the KSP game and its future are in good hands! Further, I have complete faith that Squad is a wonderful company built on the finest capitalist foundations... meaning, its not going to die any time soon, not with more money to be made... and there is nothing wrong with that. They provide and excellent product and there is no way it can die any time soon. So... I am not worried, not one little bit. BUT... I have read some of the posts and I am saddened. really, its not the number of excellent devs leaving Squad that will kill the game.... its the talk, the gossip, the accusations... and dare i say it.. the conspiracy theories that WILL, over time, kill the game if its allowed to continue. I have been blessed to have been part of a few very VERY good forums over the years i have been alive, and all of them... yes... all of them... were killed by rumours and speculation... a melt down caused by some for whatever reason... Not sure if you guys have this saying in your nation, but here in New Zealand, we say that some suffer from the "tall poppy syndrome"... meaning, they see a game, or company like squad getting bigger... successful... and they are envious... jealous... and they want to pluck that tall poppy out of the soil and kill it.... BUT ENOUGH OF THAT..... I, more than most, have had my fair share of fights with the moderators... yeah, I speak my mind, I push the boundaries... but there is a limit to how far I would push it... the limits with some of the things being said HAS WELL AND TRULY BEEN PASSED..... These are our FRIENDS you are discussing... these are the people who have given us an awesome game... in some cases, amazing game mods... and have laughed with us, cried with us on the forums here, they have put up with your poodleing about bugs and tried to help you sort them out and.... they have just been great people... By attacking Squad... you have attacked them... the reasons they left ARE PRIVATE and NONE of your business.... you do NOT own them.... So.... ENOUGH of the bull dust! They said they were leaving.... accept it.... be nice, play nice and let them go... they are friends... no matter what... or... are you saying you always thought of them as your slaves.... really? So.... let it go already... be nice people.... be nice to your friends... Thanks for all the fish, guys. Are they your prisoners? Do you own them? NO!!!! Do they owe you ANY answers.... NO.... this isn't a conspiracy, please respect their decision and their privacy.... How many of you are shareholders in Squad... Now... please tell me again how these people... not "devs"... that is too impersonal... but PEOPLE..... owe you ANYTHING...

I'm actually ashamed of some of you.... selfishly, you ask who will fix the bugs now that they have left, a week out from the release... Firstly, they posted goodbye, it never said WHEN they were leaving, it could be a day after 1.2 is released, it could be end of the month, it could be next year.... stop being so dammed disrepectful in suggesting they would leave the game in the lurch like that... is that all you can selfishly think of.... no "Thanks for your hard effort guys and good luck for the future"... "Thanks for all the fish".... no.... rather than say goodbye and be sad they are leaving, some of you can only think about yourselves and the game... (sigh) To those AWESOME developers leaving the employ of Squad... I thank you from the bottom of my heart for the service you have provided the community, and the hard work you have put into the best game in the Universe... I salute you, and I wish you well with your futures... BUT... don't be a stranger, please, continue playing the game and say hello to us here at the forums... Let me explain my position to you. I support the continued future of KSP, I am not employed by them, apart from the game, I do not know them... personally or otherwise... (as opposed to the moderators with whom I have had my fair share of issues... I speak my mind....) .... I think it is dangerous for you to assert, without evidence, that anything bad will happen BECAUSE so many developers have left the employ of squad... I also know, that professionally, they may be reluctant to answer your questions... I'm neither a professional or well mannered enough to not jump to their defence. Your claim that KSP is somehow domed because so many devs have left is an insult to the ones that have joined AND to the ones that have been honest with us since day one... in particular, you suggest that there is some conspiracy afoot and the games days are numbered.... because like it or not... that is what you are saying. Take what they have said, RESPECT IT.... and till you have evidence... your wild claims are just that.... Dammit, I could say the Planet is about to be destroyed because Planet X is coming our way.... and that is what some did say... it was a doomsday cult.... well... the time limit went and pased and we are all still here..... Please... if you have ANY *real* evidence to back up your claims for asking, or suggesting what you have... please present it. And... just to let the moderators know... I won't answer any more to @Bandus because its not worth it... he said his bit, I said mine, and I was never out to start a fight... just lay down some common sense guidelines before saying what he did... and defending the game I love. If I understand this right.... they have just stopped working for Squad... they never said they were not ever playing the game again, OR not writing mods for it...

Evolution...... nothing has died... if a part dies, then something evolves to take its place... some thing maybe .... better?
