INtakes not toggling?

For some reason my intakes seem to have a mind of their own. They open up when they feel like it and I have to manually select each one to shut them off, action groups wont do it.

If you are using mechjeb 'manage air intakes' might be the culprit, it's under utilities.

Since shutting intakes provides no advantage whatsoever, it's not worth the bother.

It lowered your drag in dense atmosphere before. I don't know if it still works with the new aero since I didn't update yet (mods) but I don't see why it wouldn't.

I haven't tested it with nuStock but FAR in 0.90 it definitely made a difference by closing them.

If you right click it shows a number for drag. I don't remember which intake I was testing, but when closed it was always 0.3. When opened it ranged from 0.0 to I think 2.0 depending on speed.

However, it seems to all be a lie. With a simple straight-up SRB test with an intake at the top, it reached the same altitude and top speed regardless of whether the intake was opened or closed.

Fun fact: Shock cone intakes make great nosecones for rockets - better than most of the actual nosecones!

confirmed - with two intakes either side of a craft, closing just one no longer causes a torque
