One of the coolest things that I learned about the whole Apollo system, is that this program was actually hardwired.  It consisted of a set of wires and magnets that were arranged in such a way to carry the same information as a computer drive.  This made the "hard drive" (or SSD maybe) very resistant to radiation, or vibrations, and it also booted up in about a second.  Apparently, the whole system was built by retired seamstresses, because they had good hand dexterity.
