attaching clampotron to clampotron in vab radially

so im begining to think this is impossible, i was trying to do a test fit in the vab of my various modules for my space station to realize the game refuses to snap a clampotron to a radially mounted clampotron.

they snap together perfectly fine attaching them to the end of the stack, but if i put a clampotron radially the game refuses to let me snap another clampotron onto it the right way, the game doesnt have a problem letting me connect it backwards.

what am i dong wrong here? ive tried holding ALT to force it to snap to a node and all it does is turn sideways and red.

frustrating.

Got any pictures?  Seems to be working fine for me.

I  just  loaded  the  game  to  get  pictures  and  now  it  works.... Weird
