Adding any mod will increase loading times.  How much will depend heavily on your specific hardware, not because it's a Mac.

Why not just install it and see what happens?  If you don't like it you can always just remove it.

I have Scatterer installed on my mac and it makes negligible difference to the load times. Weirdly, I have the same set-up (same mods, same release) installed on bootcamp windows 10 on the same machine, and Kerbal takes about 5x as long to load on that.
