In memoriam to the father of hard Science Fiction. And all my ships are named after the characters.

Can anyone guess who I am talking about?

EDIT: Dead giveaway: My Dunamission is codenamed "Podkayne". The modular space tug is the "Pollux". The lander (equally modular) is the "Castor". The deep space tug is the "Dum Vivimus Vivamus". The long range deep space probe is the "Lazarus Long". The long range deep space tanker is the "Lumox".

You should! "The Man who sold the Moon" is great reading!

There are two or three others where he appears as a character, but that one is the one.

Actually a sad story in the end. A man expends all his means and his money and fortune to get to the moon... and in the end is denied to go there himself.

But he does so, in another short story. "Requiem"

He manages to hire two space jockeys to take him there... Since he is old and fragile, he dies.... but he got to the Moon!

Mine is always called "Majesty and Power" because of my focus on reusable craft (Shuttles, mostly). That phrase was said on one of the last Space Shuttle missions, and I have liked i ever since.
