Start A spacestation

Recommended Posts

I don\'t think that is a space station ;D

So am I. The Farside Mission is just super impressive but for a real space station there have to be a lot more solar panels and for some reason I think space stations have to be less dense. Zombiphylax station is a good example for a more realistic space station ( ??? what am I saying? This is KSP ???). Love your design ;)

Hmm, didn\'t thought I will post it but there is just no free time to get my little station ready. So here is a shot of the first version:

Looks awesome! What\'s on the bottom-most node, facing us. The goldish dome-top tank?

Thanks ;D It\'s a core module (made it a strut) from Probodobodyne with one little tank and the space probe engine. Kind of a little escape craft for the station.

Sweet Mother of Kesus, Shedao! The sun called, he wants all his power back.

The farside mission had lowball station, a small (munar-orbiting) space station, but it\'s really only big enough for a few kerbins. It looks bigger because it still has the last-stage fuel tank attached. I think all the stations posted here so far have (a lot) more Kerbin-habitable elbow room.

KCST, or anyone else if you happen to know. Where can you find those tri-re-couplers. The thing that\'s like a triple splitter, but merges them back together?

I used to have those, a million versions ago, but I can no longer find them.

The issue with those is that they only connect to one of the three stacks. The other two are disconnected.

It occurred to me recently: What the heck does the ISS do with all that heat? Every watt of energy you get from the sun, you have to then turn around and get rid of once you\'ve turned it into waste heat.

Google: what did we do without you?

http://www.lockheedmartin.com/products/HeatRejectionRadiators/index.html

So fun fact: Some of those things sticking out of the ISS that I always assumed were solar panels, are actually quite the opposite: photo voltaic radiators, designed to get rid of all the heat absorbed from the sun and produced by the ship.

Learn new things every day.
