This mod isn't about an alredy made addon, because i don't know how did it. But... Anyone can?

Mi idea is... I don´t know if anyone has seen Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny, but... I fall in love with the MS and the launch process so... It's possible do an aircraft with a launch system like it?

(Im also referring to an automatic assembly system (assembly autopilot).)

I didn't found any better video so... Watch it until 1:10

If you rech this thread, respond this questionary about a mod like that

I'm sure there's some technical Japanese reason why they launch all the pieces separately and assemble them under enemy fire...

I think you have the wrong game.

Also, this^^^

Well, the basic launcher system is just a really small mass drive. I've seen at least one mod trying to implement a mass driver somewhere around here. You could dig that up and use it as a basis for a ship-based 'linear canon' (afair that's how they called the mass driver). That would be quite interesting, you could build orbital mass drivers with that. The in-flight assembly on the other hand...it propably would be a PITA to implement, the existing autopilot mods weren't that good at atmospheric flight OR docking, the last time I looked (ok, that was like .21 :D). And it just doesn't fit right with KSP, I have to agree to the others there. But well, I also think weapon mods don't fit right with KSP, and there is still a considerable amount of people who happily use them. So if you think it has potential, you might as well try it. Just don't expect it to be highly praised by the regular KSP community.

The only Gundam series I watched ("Gundam Seed" without the Destiny) of course wasn't realistic either, but they at least had the common sense to finalise assembly inside the carrier.

I concur with the prevailing sentiment that perhaps Mobile Suits with automated mid-air assembly aren't really suited to KSP (user-made crafts notwithstanding), for the aforementioned reasons.

Having watched/followed quite a few Gundam series (Gundam Wing, Gundam 00, Gundam Unicorn, Gundam AGE and Gundam Build Fighters), my observations are:

- As part of the Real Robot genre, the vast majority of mobile suits are depicted as mass-produced military hardware with limitations similar to that of real-life armored vehicles and aircraft, and so they would be manufactured as complete units ready to fight with no mid-air assembly required.

- A small proportion of mobile suits (e.g. prototypes, the protagonists', enemy aces) come with ejectable cockpits that act as escape pods, although it was suggested that combat data retrieval was prioritized over pilot recovery.

- An even smaller proportion of mobile suits, such as the one depicted in Gundam SEED, do come with mid-air assembly - the in-universe reason is that battle-damaged limbs can be immediately replaced in-field, but quite frankly I suspect that it is the result of Executive Meddling trying to jump on the Super Robot genre bandwagon*.

*Trivia - in the original Mobile Suit Gundam, the RX-78-2 was supposed to have a "realistic" white and grey color scheme. TV execs, however, wanted to sell more toys and merchandise, so they insisted on the garish white/red/blue/yellow scheme we know today.

tl;dr - The only reason for mid-air assembly is because some TV execs thought it looked cool.

I thnik that the scheme of a MS separated in parts could be more effectively because you can replace damaged parts, but it isnt realistic. The more reliable system of that kind could be the 0 raiser of Gundam 00 or the GN Archer.

Well, i supose that isn't very easy build a ship that can be mounted in flight.

Thanks to all for respond my questions.

PD: Sorry for my terrible english.
