Vehicle mysteriously anchored to the sky and won't move

I have two vehicles docked together.

When they are apart, they operate fine. The legs and wheels part will drive around and flip over as expected.

The skycrane part will fly around, so on.

But when I dock them together in the VAB, and launch it, it's anchored to the sky like this.

The legs fold up, and it just stays there. It will wobble around from the reaction wheels but it won't spin and or flip, it is like something is a sky kraken it around its center of mass.

What mods are you using atm?

Is there a Claw in there? There's a known bug with the claw.

Oh there is a magnet on the end of a KAS winch in the middle.

I know with some mods like quantum struts if you have it linked to physics less parts it can cause things to lock in place, maybe something like that is happening with one of these mod parts?

I should have noted that when I "decouple node" on the docking port, the physics work fine and they fall to the ground. If I quicksave and load it so they redock, it's stuck in place again at that new location.

I tried deleting the winch, the extra set of docking ports, reaction wheels... still does the same thing as long as these two vehicles are connected.

Go have a look on the KJR thread, there are a bunch of issues with the curent release, one of which sounds a lot like what you're seeing. IIRC it's fixed in GIT but not the current release.

As a quick fix / test, roll back to KJR v2.4.5 & see if it still happens.

If you feel like helping ferram4 out, try out the current version from GIT & report findings in the appropriate thread
