80's montage music comes to mind, as does the into to 2001

[Reference to deleted post snipped.] I was asking wit the command seat in mind. If there is any physical difference it would probably be negligible compared to the weight of the rest of the craft even if it is under a ton. But you know, data is good.

Cameras could be like IVA for probes

Ok graphics aside I think time of day in the VAB seems like a worthy possible feature. Its reasonably small but it affects both visuals and gameplay. It always throws me off to build something and then suddenly have it be night (though you could argue that they built it during the day and then now its night, but I don't want to). I do recall they saying something about them having it be day in the VAB because it was easier to see your craft when it's being built but maybe he fixed that. Yep there's the post, in which he says it would be a ton of work, so maybe no that.

It could be something hidden on the art or in the code of the new pieces If he never mentioned it, I wonder how long it would take to find it

Will her weight and size be any different than male kerbals, because that might affect my pilots for light weight craft. If not then I'll just higher kerbals in the order they appear, gender doesn't and shouldn't matter.
-
Yes. EVA is too simple as it is too be fun and something like KAS needs to be in the game. I doubt a few days is enough time for that though.
-
Normally I would agree with you that graphic, resolution, frame rate, ect. don't matter as much as many modern AAA games emphasize; I'm perfectly fine with PS2 era graphics. Gameplay and story (if its that kind of game) are whats important, but clouds man...

This thread my not have the highest concentration of hype by release time, but thats because the hype is less contained. The hype is spreading across the forums like an overflowing cup of hype. Each new mentioned piece of information gets its own hype related thread.
-
It could be through Squadcast, and definitely in the changelog. It could also be through gasp twitter. It seems kinda dumb mentioning it without revealing it though and the only purpose I can think of doing so is to generate these kind of discussions. On a somewhat unrelated note, it would be interesting if the dev team rotated who did the squad cast.

*Raises glass of snacks You mean like this https://what-if.xkcd.com/6/

Why would it make them look like a joke? It's Harv's own project thats only taken a couple of days to do.
-
Will the Hype Train be able to handle the levels of hype just hours before the release?
-
In the grand-scheme of things how fairings separate isn't important, though clamshell>confetti. If I've learned anything from the barn and round8 is that if the community complains enough about something, SQUAD will fix it. So (respectfully) voice your opinions and hope for the best.

Squadcast Summary for 2015-04-18 - Picture Perfect Edition!
ImJake replied to HafCoJoe's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Realistically yeah. I'm just thinking of more things that engineers could do. -
Also the wheels could use a radial blur effect

Squadcast Summary for 2015-04-18 - Picture Perfect Edition!

Do you think the heat shields are something the engineer kerbals would be able to repair after use? -
I name my manned ships after birds and unmanned stuff after insects. I'll add roman numerals to it if I upgrade the craft with only minor additions. The bird/insect its named after depends on the purpose and size of the craft. A rover might be called a Rhea while a mothership a Condor. Then I'll rename it in flight depending on the body it's on/orbiting and how many of it are already present if it is meant to permanently be there. So an example craft might be "Moho Snipe III 2"

I'm not a fan of this idea. Kerbals are scientist and explorers who go to space for the spirit of it. Sure they're fearless and have little self preservation, but they're not fighters, They're not called to action to stop some threat, or are the threat themselves. Sure that doesn't fit everyone in the roster, but they're still Nintendo and belong in that sense. If Jeb were to be in SSB, my reaction would be something along the lines of, "WHAT THE EFF, WHY THE HELL IS HE HERE!?" Both these games are too dear to me and I don't think Jeb needs to be in SSB. Besides, I imagine his fighting style would just be a clone of the Villager.

Since I joined in .21, updates .22 and .24 have been my favorites. .22 introduced subassemblies which I can't live without as well as the science portion of career mode and .24 greatly expanded upon career mode.
-
My first ship is always the Up Goer. All my other ships are named after kinds of birds.
-
I've been purposefully holding off on building planes because I didn't want to learn bad aerodynamics and then have to relearn it, so I'll make some planes I guess. Also mine so stuff. Technically the first thing I'll do is start the game up.
-
Since they'll probably release a 1.00.1 soon after launch with patches for bugs that slipped through, 1.0 could be .99 and 1.00.1 could be 1.0. It just seems so anticlimactic for the big release to have nothing new about it. It would just be going from nearly bug free to completely* bug free. *probably

You really think they're rushing things? At 113 days now, this has been the longest period so far. Heres a reference of the time between recent versions: version .18 - 73 days since previous update, .19 - 105, .20 - 66, .21 - 64, .22 - 84, .23 - 62, .23.5 - 105, .24 - 107, .25 - 82, .90 - 69 days. They said this experimental, which they announced less than a week ago, would be longer than most others, so I'm guessing about four weeks total. Seeing as how the only major addition SQUAD is handling is the new aero system, (the other stuff are either small additions or being handled by outside mod makers) I don't think they're rushing at all.
