That, as it turns out, was one of the glitches in Apollo 12 -- Al Bean accidentally pointed the camera at the Sun and fried it.  TV networks didn't know how to handle it.  One of them -- CBS, I think? -- opted to use marionettes to simulate what was happening on the lunar surface (as best as could be made out by listening to the comms).  You can see some of that in this video here:

Oh yeah that's right. I forgt about that detail. Are there audio recordings though?

To me they sound analogous to "aircraft" and "(sea) ship". An aircraft starts and finishes on a runway and only operates in its intended domain in between. That's similar to space craft that launch and re-enter. Whereas after it's built, a ship is always in the water and you just float it next to a pier when you're not using it. That would more resemble something that stays in space. Put some better engines on the ISS and go places in it and I'd be comfortable calling it a space ship.

Actually I like this. Think about an airship. It's something that always stayed in the air. Sure it had to come down to take on passengers. A spaceship would follow this definition somewhat.

Ok do you have a tool equipped?

Yeah, I have the screwdriver equipped.

Edit: Ok I figured it out. For some reason it showed that I had the tool equipped but it actually wasn't, however I tried again and it worked. IDK what happened the first. I will try to reproduce it.

It would help if you gave more specific info.

    Like:

what part are you trying to attach?

what part are you attaching to?

are you using the wrench or the screwdriver?

I am trying to attach a battery. At first I tried to attach it to a fuel tank so I though that it made sense that you wouldn't want to like drill holes in a fuel tank. So I tried to attach it to just structural parts and that didn't work eihter. So I tried to attach it to anything and every time it siad the Target is not Allowed.

  5. I've wanted to do a series in which I put realistic(ish) commentary over KSP launch footage, for awhile. So I've attempted it finally, and honestly I think it came out petty good. It isn't perfect, again this is just my first attempt. Also the mods that are being used are not finalized, for example I want to add clouds. So this is the first report and mission commentary on what I hope will be a series of mission reports.

Subzero Aerospace is proud to release this footage of our first orbital launch attempt. This launch features the first flight of our light orbital launch vehicle Pyrois (sometimes referred to as Pyrois 1 due to early prototypes). The payload for this mission is TestSat1, a scientific platform with instruments to measure atmosphere composition, density, and insolation at 100 km in altitude. The vehicle also has four antennae and four solar panels with battery units. There are 4 Monopropellant tanks with a combined capacity of 81.8 liters of propellant. The spacecraft combined with its decoupler has a mass of 827 kg.

The launch vehicle weighs 13,751 kg at launch. The first stage is powered by a Wildcat V Liquid Fuel Rocket Motor, and the first stage tank has 8897 liters of propellant. The second stage is powered by an RMA-3 Vacuum Engine, and the second stage tank has 2608 liters of propellant. The fairings and the coupler base weighs 245 kg. It can also fly with up to four Pyrois Solid Rocket Motors (PSRMs), but they were not necessary for this flight as the payload is about 50% of the maximum mass that can be launched into orbit.

Again, this is my first attempt at doing something like this, so if you have any ideas, tips, or constructive criticisms, please share them.

  6. Exactly the same here, had the same on stock KSP with Hot Rockets + Smokescreen during the launch fx, but there I can delete this effect, couldn't find such a .cfg for RO as I think it's coupled to the certain engine(?)

Otherwise it runs like a breeze here

Unfortunately, I just removed it from the folder which killed all the engine effects. I will see if I can fix the issue. I may try reinstalling Real Plume.

Ok managed to get it to run with stock engine effects. I removed the RealPlume_Configs folder from the Realism Overhaul folder in GameData. Still don't know why Real Plume won't work.

  7. Hmmm, is anyone else having an issue with Real Plume. For me it is causing this weird jitteriness. It doesn't drop any frames, it just freezes for a moment and then gets back to normal and then freezes again. I don't know if it my computer or if there is an issue with the install or what. If the engine is shut off its fine, and I removed real plume and its fine.
