  1. The complainers aren't worried that mods will be 'banned', they are worried about being forced to paid for mods. I wonder how many of them actually donate money to the modders that ask for donations. I've lost track of how much money I've donated to modders, and I only use a handful of mods. It's a lot more than anything KSP can charge in a DLC. Modders work hard on these things in their spare time and I have no trouble donating money to compensate them. Modders don't have to do what the do. I really, REALLY don't understand what's wrong with paid DLC. It's been around since the beginning of PC games practically, only it was sold at stores on CDs as 'addons' and I only heard a few complaints. This "Everything should be free" thing is a BAD bushiness model. If you want KSP to go bye bye, then think that way. I don't come from a software background, but my family owns an amusement ride manufacturing company and a small amusement park (And as the eldest grandson of the founder, I wear many hats in it as in all small family owned companies). While it's good business to give free things away once and a while to build up good faith, or replace something for free if it's your fault it needs replacing, giving everything away for free is a recipe for disaster, and a very bad business model. And we wouldn't be celebrating our 70th year next year if we did what these <people> complaining about having to pay for DLC want- nothing but free stuff. If one of our carousels needs repainting, we repaint it. We'll ask for a reasonable price to do so though, knowing that if we ask for too much, they will find another company to paint it for them. If we gave them a 'free dlc upgrade' for free, we would go bankrupt very shortly. Our time is valuable, we can't afford to give away everything for free. Vote with your wallet. Read reviews. If the DLC doesn't seem like something you want, or there are a lot of bad reviews, DON'T BUY IT. Nobody is making you pay for microtransactions, you are doing it all on your own, and that makes it profitable. Hell, the top 100 money making apps are all free games with microtransactions. If our company did make software I'd be jumping on that bandwagon too. If you don't want microtransactions (which I hate by the way and I won't play a game that has them) then stop paying for them. I guarantee you the company will adopt a different 'better' business model. Some of you make these guys out to be greedy monsters, when they just want to put food on their family's table and send their kids through college like the rest of you. As for paying for DLC, I really, really don't understand what the problem is (I've said that twice now). At this point I think they deserve the money, I've spent so many thousands of hours playing KSP. I'll buy it even if I don't use it. If you don't want it don't buy it. In my previous post I mentioned I played through GTV 5 once, loved it, got my money out of it and went on. Everyone is saying it's ruined. No it's not, I never played with mods. Heck somebody posted a thing on Steams Summer Sale for KSP "Don't buy this game it's BROKEN, because they are going to blah blah blah, paranoid conspiracy rant". How is KSP broken NOW??? Save it to another folder. that doesn't up date it. I don't know how many different old versions of KSP I still have, all the way back to January 1, 2014 when I bought it, and why I'm vehemently against the OP. They said April 2013 was the cut off date, April 2013 should be the cut off date. Make it December 31, 2013 arbitrarily and I'll be liquided. Well, actually I won't be because it's the best money I've ever spent on a game. Thousands of hours of fun for a hand full of cash... If Take Two ruins KSP, they are idiots, which they very well may be, but I'll still be playing my old saves with the old mods... Hell I go to GOG to pay for games I played 25 yeas ago. And I'm rambling, so I'll stop.
  2. What's wrong with GTV 5 again? I played it all the way through once, and seemed okay to me... Put KSP in another folder and play it that way forever, for free. gawd. I still play mostlyan old version... <snip> Don't want to give Take Two any money, don't, big deal. Simple really. Have fun conquering the castle.
  3. NO. I bought it January 1st, 2014, what about me... See where this goes? I'll gladly pay for the DLC. They deserve it for the thousands of hours I spent enjoying playing this game.
  4. I built a base on the Lesser Flats of Minmus. I named it Earl Scruggs. The kerbals there, for reasons unknown, called themselves the Foggy Bottom Boys, declared independence from Kerbal and made the Beverly Hillbillies Theme their national anthem.
  5. I just finished Galileo (very hard mission) and there are no more contracts showing up for me either. Also had a lot of trouble with Mir, for some reason it stop recognizing my Mir as Mir and wouldn't acknowledged that I finished all the goals or even docked with it. Had to use alt-12 contract cheat to finish them. Also had that problem with a few others, like Galileo. This is the first contract mod I bothered installing and despite the minor glitches I absolutely love it!
  6. Okay finally got sometime, whew. Here's my gamedata file- And here's the output log and the MM cachefile https://www.dropbox.com/s/qlou8qz9tvol7zs/output_log.txt?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/nysdvsv32bn3vgi/ModuleManager cachefile.txt?dl=0 Thanks guys. Much apperciated.
  7. Those are the only two mods I'm using now, trying to locate the problem. I'm not at that computer now, so I can't upload those logs now...
  8. Okay, I have a problem. I can't get the mod to work. I'm on windows. Yes, I have Kopernicus and CTTP and OMP in the GameData folder. Yes, I have the current ModuleManager files. Yes, I did a complete reinstall of KSP 1.1.3 and tried it again with only Kopernicus and OMP as the only mods I was using. The Outer Planets Mods entry is in the KSPedia. But they aren't in the game. I can't see them. They aren't there. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I'm sorry to bother you, but I tried to go through 147 pages of this thread last night and I'm at wit's end.
  9. My problem with one system mod becoming stock over another is just that, one mod chosen over another. There's lots of system mods. Keep the Outer Planet Mod a mod and concentrate on other things. A lot of players, and this has been said before in this thread, seldom leave the Kerbin system. I rarely do. Fix the planets that ARE stock with more biomes and such and perhaps I'll go visit the other planets. Keep system mods as mods.
  10. This is the first contract mod I've tried, I was satisfied with the stock contracts until I saw this one and I love it. I am having problems with the Gemini 6A and Gemini 7 rendezvous though. I've noticed someone else had problems with it too,and saw the ALT+F12 fix, so thanks. I was pulling my hair out thinking I did something wrong. Being, cough, older, cough, I remember some of these missions and being able to play them in Kerbal Space Program is just awesome.
  11. Wow, Happy Birthday Mom. Both my grandmothers lived to be 93. Here's to your mom for many more! Dad would have turned 80 in May. He would have been so addicted to Kerbal Space Program, lol. That's what I love about this community, so inclusive, so diverse, so many nationalities and ages. And everyone is so nice and helpful. A shinning beacon in the cesspool that is the internet.
  12. Yesterday was my birthday. (Yes, I'm an American, so I'm a yankee doodle dandy born on the Fourth of July). I get a present from my sister and I open it up. For context, we are both middle aged and we lost our parents young, so we still say Santa visits and silly things at the holidays for some relief in missing them. A note falls out written in green ink. It's from Jebediah Kerman and it says that the Kerbal Space Program is terribly sorry but I was suppose to have gotten another present (I'm guessing a KSP Tee-Shirt COOL) but the delivery system blew up on the launch pad. A replacement is being sent barring any more accidents, which is highly unlikely. It was signed, again in green ink by Jeb. She doesn't play computer games so I had no idea she knew so much about Kerbals It was great. A wonderful kerbal birthday, with lots of explosions.
  13. Why are people complaining about the Monolith near the KSC as an 'eyesore'? I think it's great for people new to the game, show them that there are easter eggs about. Usually one of the first things I do in a new game is send a kerbal in a rover over there to plant a flag over there by it. I'm glad it's not half-buried any more and hope the other monoliths aren't either. As for being 'useless' that's pretty much what easter eggs are... If you can call aesthetics 'useless'.
  14. A month or so ago I was watching an old Captain Disillusion video (He debunks fake videos with ghosts and ufos and stuff, you guys really ought to watch him, his output is low, he's been on YouTube for 8 years and only has 30 or so videos but his production values are phenomenal, I mean television, movie level, he runs his own digital production company. Oh an Captain Disillusion is a superhero that's mostly silver and wears a 80's track suit so don't be thrown. His humor is incredibly funny.) and some joker says "Hey, Captain D,bet you can't debunk the flat earth theory (Theory my lilly white butt), didn't think so." These loons are everywhere. Ironically, Captain Disillusion mentioned the flat earthers very breifly in his latest video, and I didn't see any flat earth comments. Of course he also mentioned the Vsauce Flat Earth video which destroys the flat earhers, so maybe that's why they aren't there... But I wouldn't bet on it. I'm trying to curb my YouTube comment reading. (I know, I know, I KNOW!)
  15. For whatever reason, Tumblr suggested a video with some of Hitler speeches translated into English. An avid history buff, I watched it as I've seen very few of Hitler's speeches in English. They somewhat surprised me, just vague promises of grandiose things like any politician. Didn't have me goosestepping. Then (I swear I have a problem) read the comments. After the shock, I went back and watched some other stuff and for whatever reason Tumblr suggested a video with the translated words of the Soviet Nation Anthem, a tune I always liked. I more listened to it than read the translation. Didn't have me painting everything read or reading Karl Marx (Which I actually read in college along with Engels). Then I read the comments. Should get the two comment threads to re-enact world war two... I think I need a 12 step plan...
