Arctodus replied to Ival70's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Oh yes. Oh, very yes. +rep -
Should I scrub my massive Jool mission because of 1.0?
Arctodus replied to Brainlord Mesomorph's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Finish it! I have the same dilemma, my main interplanetary was due to depart a day after 1.0 hit, so I just bumped everything else off the schedule Now the interplanetary ship has ditched its engine pods, and become my first manned station around Laythe! I may have had to rush it a little, but I feel it was entirely worth it -
You built Porco's plane! YES!

Out of interest, where did you get the command pod in this picture, if you don't mind my asking?

SPACE STATIONS! Post your pictures here
Arctodus replied to tsunam1's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Where'd you get those awesome RCS blocks (I assume that's what they are) if you don't mind my asking? -
Do you still use the old rotation keys?
Arctodus replied to Superfluous J's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I still use the keys, mostly out of habit - I'll try out the gizmos and love them....and promptly forget about them for another few hours -
Right, those three mods have been loaded, and are currently on their way to the station - it's gonna be ace Any more recommendations whilst they're on the way up?
-
Ooooh, awesome, thanks guys! Not to sure about the orbital materials one, but the rest look pretty ace *adds to list*

Hi all! I've built a pretty basic science station to orbit Kerbin*, but I find its starting to feel a little cramped up there. I've been browsing a lot, but frankly there's a lot to take in - so I was wondering if anyone had recommendations for habitats or general science-y things I could send up there to extend it? The two I have seen that intrigue me most, are Nertea's stock-a-like habitats, and Porkjet's inflateables. Here is the station for reference (sorry, I don't know how to link imgur albums properly) - there are three clamp-o-trons, so there should be plenty of space to expand http://imgur.com/a/DnhCC#2 Thank you in advance! *There's also a slightly modified version that's currently set for an interplanetary science station, for each planet - they kind of remind me of sonic screwdrivers when the panels are in

Where will YOUR kerbonauts celebrate New Year's Eve?
Arctodus replied to viktor19's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Got a seven man science and rescue team orbiting Duna (and three survivors on the surface) - it was initially a rescue mission for my first failed manned Duna attempt, but will remain a permanent science station once the rescue is done. Seven more in a station above Kerbin, and Jeb himself is currently in a new science station orbiting Eve on his own, awaiting company or relief (I may have forgotten to send extra people with him...oops). His relief crew is on its way, unless I can't get on briefly tonight, in which case they're still sat on the pad... Everything else is robotic at the moment. -

[1.12.x] Mark IV Spaceplane System (August 18, 2024)
Arctodus replied to Nertea's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
OMG I CAN HAS A THUNDERBIRD?! I may have actually squee'd in delight at seeing this! I play modless, I was just browsing and contemplating taking the plunge and getting KAC - this is coming with it too, now! -
Fascinating! I particularly love the "adaptor" tugs, that's a fantastic idea!
-
I love this little ship! I may have to try and replicate it, if that's ok with you?
-
I quite like the idea of building the Mk2 bays into 'nacelles' into the wing, one either side the same way some people set up engines

Arctodus replied to KissSh0t's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Awesome ship! Thanks for posting, it has helped me finally get a plane into orbit! Now I have to decide whether or not to use rockets anymore for my probes! EDIT: Holy crap that's amazing! What mods are in there? -
Getting to Eve with a probe
Arctodus replied to Arctodus's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
T'is a deep irony that those parts are what I'm hoping to unlock with this trip, lol. I think I'll ditch the goo on good advice, and send that (and maybe a Science Jr. too ) later on, perhaps with the NERVA engine. This IS in career, so cost is a concern, but I'm fairly deep into it, so not too big a concern I switched out the Communotron again, for the biggest - I know it uses most power, but I was hoping not to use it at all, its a last resort. Plus, it's massless -
Getting to Eve with a probe
Arctodus replied to Arctodus's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Thanks for the reply! The communotron has been replaced, the gigantor is now just singular, with two 1x6's and two OXSATS. Still got the Goo containers on at the moment, cause I wanna mine as much science as I can, but there's room to shift them if they're still too heavy. There were initially three gigantors cause I wanted three engines, and I remember on the wiki it says one panel cover like 1.3 of an engine. I think I still want that, I was kind of inspired by this guys probe - I can't figure out how he did it: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/96377-the-new-cargo-bays-are-too-small/page4?p=1469832#post1469832
