Welp, I think the Junos are just not going to work for getting into orbit. They're like the Wheesleys were, only worse. They lose thrust too low. You'd be better off just using pure rockets all around. I've tried several configurations, from 1 Juno + rockets to 3 Junos and 2 Sparks, and I just don't see how to make it work. Which is fine, not all the jet engines are supposed to be for getting into orbit.

I'm trying to land on Minmus to do a mission (which is also bugged, by the way), and periodically, the vehicle will just start spinning out of control. I have SAS on, but it doesn't stop the spinning. Sometimes I can turn SAS off, then back on, and it will resolve itself, but sometimes it doesn't. I'm not out of battery power, the thing just starts spinning, and continues spinning faster and faster.

Weird view behavior... not seen this before.

Like so many problems in the world, it is the result of bad parenting. -
1.05 Texture Quality for Some Parts has been Downgraded

No WONDER I've been crashing into planets. -
OK, I just made a spaceplane in sandbox, and... if anything, it has more Delta-V in orbit than I usually got in 1.04. I just put this dirty boy into orbit. He has more D/V than I usually have with a one-engine design. I do have to mention though, that the Mk. 1 cockpit is much more prone to overheating now. You're probably not going to want to come barreling in from Jool and try to aerobrake with this.

That is cool. Maybe more people would know about this with some kind of, oh, I don't know... Documentation. Just an idea Squad... I'm not married to it.
-
I guess I'm not the spaceplane master like I thought I was... I feel happy if I manage to hit 1200 m/s before lighting the rockets.

My command pods always have a Kerbal in them. I don't get why yours doesn't, but I kind of doubt it is because there's something wrong with the game. But hey, if adding crew when there is none (and the game has warned you that there is none) is too much trouble, this probably isn't the game for you. Actually, no. The truth is, you sound like you've thrown a fit over nothing. I'm sorry, I don't mean to be insulting, but you are making way too big a deal about what is an incredibly minor problem.

I don't get the thrust of this question. The Wheesley's always sucked. I mean, I'm not complaining, but they were never good for anything except low altitude flying.

It used to be that while you were rotating parts during placement, you could hold down Shift and rotate them in smaller increments than 90 degrees. Now, that doesn't seem to be working. It always rotates them at 90 degrees whether you have Shift down or not. It's a bit confusing because I had to redo all my custom keys (they were reset during the patch), but I think that "fine tuning" button was always Shift.

Looking for old parts-forgot to back them up

I could, but I would want an OK from Squad. It might be verboten. -

I knew this would happen. I predicted it! I just hope my computer doesn't catch fire trying to run Fallout 4. -
Yes, it's a broad term, which means a lot of different things can be considered a game, and there are a lot of ways to use physics and science in a game. Some people, including apparently you, want a game where every minute detail of scientific truth is modeled. I don't want that game, and I don't think most people do. I think KSP is a great balance between somewhat realistic physics and a fun game. This game is not a science simulator, it isn't a NASA flight simulator either. I, however, have learned a huge amount about orbital mechanics and launch technology from it, and had fun doing so.

PSA: Engine exhausts are deadly now
RocketBlam replied to MalfunctionM1Ke's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Actually, I just accidentally detached a lower stage (an SRB) before it was done burning. The thrust from the upper stage destroyed it before it could impact the ship. So yeah, the destruction is essentially instantaneous. -
Hmm, the Thud is a lot flatter now... I like it.

Er, I just launched, and it still says version 1.04.861. It didn't update automatically, apparently, and isn't updating now. Oh wait, there it goes. 25 mb. Not too bad. Edit: I'm playing 1.05.1024 RIGHT NOW!
-
Woohoo! Let the carnage begin!
-
Because it is an interesting game and there is just nothing else like it.
-
Playing Total War: Rome II. As Egypt. Damn the Seleucids! But if it doesn't come out tomorrow, I'm going to be playing Fallout 4.

It seems I remember mine does, and I don't think it came from a mod. Anyway, I've never had one burn up on reentry.
