Free Windows 10 without Windows 7 or 8 (NOT ANYMORE)
sam.johnson841 replied to sam.johnson841's topic in The Lounge
My problem is that people like my self have help MS out, not that we ask anything for it. When we are then offered the OS free, as confirmed by MS, and then they take it away from you, that's rubbish. You can't just offer somebody something, then take it away from them, MS have done this several times with different things regarding windows 10, each one is a shot to their reputation. Also, in my idiocy, how is this piracy if MS confirmed it was correct? - Sam - - - Updated - - - They have seen the money apple makes from their walled garden and want a piece of it. Windows 7 FTW! -Sam -

Microsoft will make money out of you somehow with windows 10. It's your choice how, option 1: you pay them a licence fee and they sell your personal data. Option 2: they sell your data. - Sam -
Has anyone taken a close look at Microsoft's Privacy Policy?
sam.johnson841 replied to kenbobo's topic in The Lounge
Avoiding it would be all but impossible, imo, you just have to minimalise it as best you can. - Sam -
Wait, you guys aren't metric? Well, now I know. Personally I like the mix the UK has. - Sam

Free Windows 10 without Windows 7 or 8 (NOT ANYMORE)

I think they are doing it for he same reason it's free for those on newer OS's, they want to have minimum fragmentation. Just my 2 pennies, - Sam -
For any of those who don't have windows 7 or 8.1 or for those who want a free extra licence. Go to this link: http://hexus.net/business/news/general-business/84164-microsoft-will-give-away-windows-10-windows-insider-testers/ Basically, Microsoft confirmed if you have build 10130 installed and you upgrade it to the full version when windows 10 launches, the licence stays genuine. So if you want a licence for whatever reason, install that quickish! Microsoft seem to be no longer offering this. - Sam

Would be a lot of use to me, i forget solar panels every time and this would prevent me running out just above the Mún every time! - Sam -

I will just say, I've tried KSP on Xbox 360 controller the dual shock 4 and xbone controller, none of them where any good in the slightest within the editor. -Sam

What Is Your Biggest Accomplishment in KSP thus far?
sam.johnson841 replied to TheOfficialStorm's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Personally, i think you just cant match the feeling you get from when you finally do your first successful (Kerbals didn't "poof") Mún landing. and then have to send a rescue mission... - Sam -
What top 10 (or less) mods couldn't you do without?
sam.johnson841 replied to Mulbin's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
(in no particular order) 1)WayPoint Manager 2)KER 3)Kerbal Joint Reinforcement 4)Texture Replacer 5)Astromimors Visual Pack 6)Scatter 7)E.V.E 8)Chatterer is nice 9)TweakScale 10)Some Mod that makes the contract window larger (useful for career) 10.5) x64 community hack (quite essesntial for a ton of large mod packs and astronomers visuals. They are my top ten at the moment, B9 would likly replace chatterer when its updated and im also a fan of FAR, Remote Tech and most of the near future stuff. - Sam -
I officially landed on the Mun and returned to Kerbin safely
sam.johnson841 replied to jbakes's topic in KSP1 Discussion
You can take the kerbal X to the Mún, do science and return! Congrats though, it took me almost six real life months just to reach orbit back in 0.20. For you next challenge, go to eve and return, in one launch! -Sam -
A more custom space centre
sam.johnson841 replied to TJPrime's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
I seem to remember that when we had the new buildings done, it took them ages to model, having to model far more buildings could take ages and use plenty of man power that could be used else where. No to say its a bad idea, its a great idea, but for now i think kerbinside is the best option. - Sam -

KSP 1.0: The x64 Report!
sam.johnson841 replied to RogueMason's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Just reloaded KSP and having been unable to reload this issue in other saves, i loaded the broken save for giggles and it worked, just straight out worked? I have no idea. - Sam -
If you could, i would squeeze an i3 into your desktop over any "A Series" chip, it will help with cpu bound games such as KSP, this is due to better instructions per clock than AMD rivals. It also has all right integrated graphics, (source: I use them for a while). Not they will be up to much in games other than KSP and TF2, which you may have to turn settings down for it to run smoothly. A large amount depends on what other things you might want to do/play. How much of a budget you have. Do you have the full licence, as detailed above and what/if any parts do you have already (screen, keyboard, mouse ECT) - Sam
