I'm not a mac user, but I noticed that in the log file you provided there were a number of 'UnauthorizedAccessException's. Try running the program from terminal using sudo maybe? -
is it worth refueling before leaving SOI?
Sneaky Bstard Sword replied to Provisional Name 12's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Yes your overall energy increases, but this can be offset by the Oberth effect, depending on the exact scenario. If your burn would be complete before you reach the altitude where you would circularize, a direct ascent is slightly more efficient. -
Sounds to me like you need to learn the magic of transfer windows.

Guide to install KSP via steam ubuntu linux
Sneaky Bstard Sword replied to Borancer's topic in KSP1 Tutorials
I've found that KSP has a tendency to make common Linux desktop environments malfunction in some way or another, from the window just jittering a bunch in LXDE and XFCE4, to Cinnamon crashing outright and not being able to recover. The only DE I've found that doesn't have issues is, unfortunately, the much-denounced Unity desktop that ships with Ubuntu. If you find Unity usable, I would recommend switching to that, as I've done. -
The documentation on the wiki doesn't seem to have any instructions on how to develop plugins using a standalone text editor (such as VS Code). Could someone please tell me how to set up a directory with all of the resources I would need for standalone add-on development, and how to use those resources?

A word about Linux compatibility: I don't know if @Arrowstar knew about this when he added the section on Linux usage (or if this even existed), but there's an official MATLAB runtime enviroment linux port available from their website. I can't check if KSPTOT itself has compatability issues with the linux version of MATLAB until sunday at the earliest, but theoretically it should run far better then trying to coax the windows version into working with WINE.

It seems like your question about outsourced R&D has been answered already. As for the docking ports, i'm fairly certain the disadvantage to the Jr.'s is that you can't transfer crew between 2 ships connected by them, as you can with the 1.25m docking ports. Resources can still be transferred, and the Kerbals can still be transferred via the old EVA-from-capsule-to-capsule method, but you do lose a lot of convenience.

you can attach parts radially using symmetry, remove their parent part, and reattach the parent part, keeping the symmetry of the child. I've found this especially useful for attaching landing legs on some designs.

I actually used, back when I first built my desktop but before I ordered my dedicated GPU. It wasn't that bad in all honesty. My framerates were nothing stellar (no pun intended), but that's really not a big deal.

Remember that RAM is only really a big issue for KSP if you install a ton of mods. And even if you do start to run short on an IGPU-based rig, there should be enough swap available to at least prevent a CTD from RAM shortages. I mean, even my $200 chromebook *can* run KSP (after installing Debian 8 via Crouton), just not above 15 fps in the VAB lmao.

I think this is a great idea. The issue, however, is that i'm kinda broke atm lmao. -
