My only concern here is that TT often shows allergic reactions to mods of their games. But I suppose we can hope that they won't mess with such an established community.

+1 to that! Here's a web page with all the numbers you need to build the system. It's quite the crazy (and tiny!) place. The star is only 0.08 Solar masses, while the planets have semi-major axes of 0.01 to 0.06 AU and orbital periods between just 1.5 and 16 days. I image it'd make for a quite fun career.

I'm pretty abivalent about the new models. However, the 3-part setup some proposed sounds like it would open quite a few interesting possibilities.

Unfortunately I have to agree with the majority here; my first reaction to the feature in the devnotes is best described as "WHYYY???!?!" All other aspects are fine and dandy, but changing a vessels physical capabilities just seems like a bad idea on every possible level.

Yup I done did it It's sailing through the air majestically. Like an eagle. Piloting a blimp. Surprisingly, flying it is the easy part. CoM/CoL are reasonably aligned, there's sufficient lift & control, etc. Getting it off the runway in one piece is a nightmare tho. Will post some more pics when I get the chance to.
