  1. How do you determine what time for an injection burn so you arrive at the moon's proper Longitude of Ascending Node for a sat contract? Ive been trying to figure this out since yesterday. Have you ever layed a protractor on your screen trying to determine angles? lol , surely there is some sort of formula you can use to figure this out. It doesnt have to be perfect. It just needs to be close and not 90 degree's off from where I need to be. :) I couldnt seem to find the numbers I need in Mechjeb or KER. This is a Minmus contract which isnt as hard as trying to figure it out for the similar Duna contract I have as well. So how does one do this?

ok, got it all installed, looks great.....but i have no clouds now.

ok, got my clouds back, but theirs these weird light flickers all over my sky, most notable on the night side of a planet.

You mean the lightning? Last night at the KSC, I was getting ready to launch and I look off to the East. There was a lot of cloud cover and it was late evening I think. But there was this storm off in the distance and I could see the lightning and it looked amazing. Seen some great stuff from orbit as well.

    @themaster401 please assist

If you are trying to add this to 5.1.1 ......... its saying that because not all of the dependencies have been updated just yet. You will have to do a manual install if you want it right now. At least, that is what I done.

  3. I havent been playing for a good while now mostly just for lack of time. In fact, I havent played since just before Making History came out and all of that. But I always knew that there would be some awesome stuff coming this way since the Making History expansion was released. I expect to see a lot of really cool missions from the past, present and the future to come. So, when I stumbled across this I knew I was going to be playing again soon. So I have to give out a really big THANK YOU for all the time and effort you put into this. I downloaded and fired it up right away. Going to be having some fun today. TY so much and if your looking for encouragement to do the next one, go right ahead. I will be eagerly awaiting your next effort should you choose to accept this mission. :) (ya, thats right, Im a Mission Impossible fan)

Anyway, I just wanted to thank you for stirring my interest again.

And for all you other wannabe authors out there, we all look forward to your efforts. :)

  4. I would love to have a great train sim. I just have 2 problems, time and money. Maybe someday I will get there but I just cant do it right now. Been wanting to do this for several years now. Grew up in the country right next to a crossing. Its funny what you can sleep through. Even train whistles and a shaking house was no reason to wake up. lol :)

  5. I would recommend trying the realism overhaul. Makes it a whole new situation with much much more to learn and a real challenge for those who have done all the other. Im following a tutorial on youtube to get me through it. Realism overhaul makes regular KSP feel like child's play.

  6. Software isnt an exact science, if it isnt here tomorrow, its not going to kill me. Got plenty to be doing as it is. More than I have time for. Not only other games and sims, but RC flight and a brand new fishing license to wear out. If Spring ever actually gets here. Apparently the weather isnt an exact science either. lol

  7. Ahhhh, another opportunity to thank the KSP team. Thanks guys, and also thanks to some that are no longer here as well. Still to this day one of my favorite distractions of all time. Dont see that changing.

  8. RO/RSS/RP-0

Put my first 2 sats in orbit around the Moon. One in a polar orbit and one in a standard orbit. Nathan's tutorials part 11 and 12. I also did the sat mission where I use the Moon to escape Earth but ran out of electricity and could not complete the last experiment outside Earth's SOI. Oh well.....pretty successful day really. Next up..... part 13 Spy sats :) Really enjoying the tutorials and the whole RO/RSS experience. Definitely harder than regular Kerbal but I am learning a lot. I will be a lot better off for doing this, I can see that now.

  9. SO how do you all deal with electric power consumption? Do you use the old calculator and do the math to figure out if you have enough electric or do you use one of the 2 addons for that? Same thing for communication distances, how do you deal with that as well? Currently Im just doing what the tutorials say and not worrying about such things but I can see I will have too sooner or later.

I don't understand Why, but this is what I found:

    1. Fly in to moon at 1x time warp
      • Impact the moon becomes ticked
      • Launch a new vessel becomes un-ticked
    2. Time warp while in KSC
      • Probe flies through moon and in sling shot out of Earth's SOI
    3. Time warp while in Tracking Station
      • Same as 1.
    4. Fly in to moon at 1000x time warp
      • Game reverts to 10x just before impact
      • Big badda boom
      • Contract successful

OK, fly into the Moon at 1000x it is. I can see I need to boost up the ole testing skills here in Kerbal land. Ive been slacking. lol Thanks for looking at that. If you figure out why it does that, that would be great and feel free to report that to the proper person, whoever that is. :)

When I encounter something like that, I confess to using Alt-F12

Feel free to ping me a save game again (with a quick save in Lunar SOI?) and I'll see if I get the same as you.

There ya go Mat. There is a save in there called Moon Impact Mission if you want to reload it from its current position. Ship Name is "Explorer Impactor" Over in the missions list you can see that the first two requirements are currently met.

OK, so I just ran it on through again. So thats 3 straight hits to the moon and 3 times the contract has failed. At least Ive hit it 3 times straight.
