  1. I experimented with "controlling" SRB burns by attaching them to radial decouplers and jettisoning them in mid-burn when I had enough delta-v. (it was like firing missiles!) Keyword: experimented. (LF FTW!)

  3. red CHUTE (in gray square) = is broken, or used. red SQUARE (w/ white chute) = too fast to deploy Square turns green around 270-250 m/s meaning "OK now"
  4. It new contacts making me do new things. I just realized all my other flights were always headed east! (SSTOs)
  5. Just built a simple tier one jet. Contract recon mission. On track to my nav point. I look at my map view. the blue orbit line is like 90 degrees off my actual line of flight. Very confusing.
  6. Been playing w/ that. Deployed fins during reentry seem to act like the Virgin Galactic Feather Wing. Deployed fins during launch are a very bad idea!
  7. AFAIK the yellow orbits are ones you are *just looking at* in Tracking Center view. "Fly" the ship. (take command) then in map view the orbit is blue, and can be edited.
  8. It was a tweak for "deploy" and inverse deploy what does that do?
  9. don't deploy chutes above 250 m/s Look at the chute icon in the staging stack on the left of the screen, if the square is red you are too fast.
  10. last time I was doing any exploring around the KSC was rover testing in 0.25 So they're new to me!
  11. There seem to be some lower mountains with crater like formations to the NNW that I don't remember. (Or is it just new contracts making me fly places I haven't been before?)

  14. I tried to turn the new small jet into jetpack. (so far without success)
  15. Just started a new career. Made a bee-line for the Mk1 Passenger Cabin so I could spam tourism. with the money I plan to build out the KSC. Then go back get the science tech, go to the mun, and race through the rest of the tech tree. Then with all the parts, go interplanetary. EDIT: am now deliberately postponing my 1st orbital flight so I can continue to exploit *suborbital* tourism. As soon as Jeb makes orbit, tourist aren't satisfied with anything less.
  16. THAT wouldn't just SAVE money it would MAKE money! (you could become and oil Barron, pay for your space program with profits from fuel mining?) fueling on the pad would be very realistic.
  17. I wonder if a Deep Flight idea (wings and thrust to counter buoyancy, stop and you float) would work.

I haven't started a career game in 1.0 yet, and I was wondering if anyone has tried or thought of this: Setting up ISRU operations at the KSP, then deliberately defueling all of your ships in the VAB, and then filling them up with “free†fuel from the ISRU on the pad. Would that save enough money to be worth it? Or would the ISR operation costs so much, and be so much more work that I shouldn’t bother?
