  1. Gonna try my hand at this. Are there any limits or standard test craft? Or a more freeform thing?
  2. Round of 8 over and uploaded to youtube. Playlist with all tournament videos Results: Match A: Canard C 3-0 SuperFly II Video Match B: Top Kek 3-0 El Quicko Video Match C: FF-102 3-0 Ariel 3 Video Match D: Asp Mk4 3-2 Flutter Video IMHO the Flutter is by a wide margin the best non-wingstack design presented so far in the tournament. Major props to @Triop
  3. Looks like I'm gonna be able to do a second tourney with all these new planes! Better get out a new fighter.
  4. I will fight it against the winner and see what happens Edit: I also don't see why I can't collect the next 8 entries and run a second tournament. I have a new fighter in the works, avoiding wing stacking
  5. And we have our last entry for this tournament! I will run the remaining matches upon returning home Good luck, have fun!
  6. I did. My first tournament post contains all the standard settings. Min altitude is 600 for all planes, default altitude is 1000 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- @drtricky I have done all the round of 8 matches but the one with TBD. You still have time, albeit little I will upload the videos soon
  7. Hello all I bring updates regarding my tournament Tournament Bracket: I was hoping TBD would be @ihtoit's X-wing but if he does not submit it by the time I run the simulations it will will be @SasquatchM's Adder Mk3 Props to @brianjwm for creating the bracket Format Clarifications: To win a match a craft must win 3 rounds against its opponent. To win a round, a craft must be the last under powered, controlled flight (the AI can hold altitude and manoever) and must be able to maintain this flight until the enemy's weapons pose no threat to it. If both craft are destroyed before either meet these criteria, both craft run out of ammunition, or fly out of range of each other, the round is a draw. TL;DR: Best of 5, last plane standing wins. If both planes get destroyed or run out of ammo, it's a draw Tomorrow I will post results and video
  8. Hello All I will soon run a tournament with the craft files I have downloaded Format: It will be single elimination with best of 5 1v1 dogfights. Starting formation will be like A from the OP with both planes in the middle of the runway facing away from each other The following AI settings will be standard Guard Mode: Interval: 1 Arc: 360 Range: 3500 Pilot AI: Minimum Altitude: 600 Default Altitude: 1000 Takeoff Speed: 20 Maximum Speed: 420 Bracket coming soon Edit 1: Changed Maximum Speed
  9. I am running a tournament tonight, I could include it if you upload the craft file stock+bdArmory only so don't include mechjeb parts.
  10. Alright here is my submission I call it "Top Kek" Armaments: Vulcan (Hidden) +7pts 1 Ammo can +4pts 3 Flares +9pts 2 Chaff +4pts 2 AIM-9 +12pts 6 AIM-120 +24pts Total: 60pts Craft File Settings you may need to change to fight it Default Altitude: 1000 Minimum Altitude: 600
  11. Question: Do you guys think that some or all types of wing stacking should be banned? What constitutes wing stacking? What would make a wing design banned?
  12. I rather agree. Maybe we can limit the number of wings you can stack to, let's say, 3 and then I only include the latest submissions that fit this criterion? Edit: I think box-wing and other closed-wing designs should still be fair game though.
  13. @drtricky I do think an in-air start sounds cool though, if you could figure out how to reliably do it.
  14. I am leaning towards a ban on wing spam/stacking (many wings sandwiched together) or wings inside fuselage, though maybe that building technique adds to the fun in which case a ban would suck. Climb rate is a part of the challenge, imo it would be too difficult to fairly start the planes in the air.
  15. Ok once we get at least six uploads I think we could get a tournament going (my entry, soon ready, included)
  16. You could set up flags or probe cores as markers, and then share the save file so others can try the same course. Then maybe we could get a leaderboard going of people's times
  17. Is there any interest in a JSF or multi-class tournament? I would be able to run it if there were. For JSF I think it should be like in OP but with a few changes. it would have various components with points being awarded based on placement in various trials. The design with the most points wins. Air to air, basically a 2v2 dogfight tournament with the other competing planes. Ground attack, planes compete to be the fastest to take out a ground target guarded by a goalkeeper and a sam battery or other similar defenses without being destroyed. Bomber intercept, planes compete to be the fastest to take out a turreted bomber coming from the island runway without being destroyed. It may have an escort if that makes it more interesting. Combined, like ground assault but two planes are used and a fighter is scrambled against the attacking planes. I am not sure how it would be done but I think it would be cool to have a bomber escort trial as well. Any interest? Any ideas on how a points system like that of the Top Gun tournaments could work? Suggestions?
  18. Is there any interest in another tournament? Maybe weekly or monthly tournaments? I would be willing to run it.
  19. So I tried to make the Lippisch Li P.09 http://www.luft46.com/lippisch/lip09-1.html It flies wonderfully. Suggestions? Comments? Concerns?
  20. You should post the flight results screen, because you may not necessarily have screenshotted the highest altitude
