  1. Clue #2: It is significant that only a few hex values appear. It is also significant that they appear with the frequency distribution they have. There are a lot of 5s and As...
  2. I agree with the highlighted part. I made this cryptogram with the intention of it being breakable without too much effort. I therefore wouldn't go out of my way to throw you off the scent. Best, -Slashy
  3. Clue #1> A proper encryption looks random, thus obscuring the process by which it was encrypted. This doesn't look very random. Best, -Slashy
  4. Something to keep you folks entertained for the day. The theme is cryptography rather than space. 5566 AA55 66DB 4AA9 AA95 5955 Good luck! -Slashy
  5. I've got some time to kill. I'll knock together a quick puzzle for y'all...
  6. Hmm... Today's puzzle is running a bit late... - - - Updated - - - Oh! Ninja'd!
  7. I'm standing by for today's riddle. I'll post it here as soon as it shows up. -Slashy
  8. How about mapping sats? The maps themselves have already been buried in the debug menus. All you'd need to do is put a sat in orbit with a "mapping" science sensor, and it unlocks the map for that planet. Best, -Slashy
  9. Ahh! That explains it. I could've spent hours looking for that connection Thanks, -Slashy
  10. Nah. The image is of Ariane 6. The dimensions aren't quite correct according to the wikipedia article, though. Best, -Slashy
  11. Yup, I was expecting this. The Ariane 6 is estimated to cost 75 million. Valentina launched on Vostok 6. Possibly more links...
  12. Standing by for today's riddle...
  13. The short version: It takes kinetic energy to get to Jool, not potential energy. Being at Minmus' altitude gives you a lot of potential energy, but very little kinetic energy. Kinetic energy in this case is all about velocity, and you're going faster in LKO than you are at Minmus' altitude, so that's velocity you don't have to make up for by burning fuel. As others have pointed out, you can save even more DV by leaving from a highly elliptical orbit with a low periapsis over Kerbin, which will give you even more velocity when you do your transfer burn. HTHs, -Slashy
  14. Vallius, Working these puzzles is similar to cryptography, which is sort of a hobby of mine. In both cases, the sender is sending a message that they expect to be decoded in a predictable manner. Also, we have a "crib", since we know what the message will ultimately contain. Therefore, the riddles are solvable. Pretty quickly, too if you have a bunch of KSP players collaborating Best, -Slashy
  15. I just have one nomination: Best comedy video Kerbtown & Kerbin City- Scott Manley feat. Skye Manley His daughter is hilarious! Best, -Slashy
  16. I don't have the whole thing finished yet, but the answer is confirmed as "seven". 6D ___Fuglesang 14D___ __Wetherbee 1D Tereshkova 15D______ Eisele 7D ___Aldrin ^ That's the important part -Slashy
  17. Scratch my last. It has to be the agency of the astronaut, otherwise we wouldn't have JAXA.
  18. It looks like the agencies are who gave the ride rather than the astronaut who took it. For example, if an American astronaut rides a Soyuz, they would appear under "ROSCOSMOS" rather than "NASA".
  19. I think it's astronauts/ cosmonauts. 18D "Revin", 19A "Leonov", etc.
  20. ^ And of course it's a safe assumption that the highlighted area will be "seven".
  21. ... or not. I'm checking the twitter feed every 10 minutes.
