  1. I carry mine in a holster on my belt. Best, -Slashy
  2. Yeah, I imagine my original upload is long-dead by now. Bachelorarbeit.zip I stack them in 5 rover packages for launch, transfer them to an interplanetary mass mover as payload, refuel them in orbit, then send them on their way to wherever. They are good to land with payload on every habitable body in the system, including Tylo. SSTO with payload from every habitable body except Eve, though Tylo and Kerbin require refueling on the surface first. Use it in good health! -Slashy

Thank goodness I've finally seen the answer! This one was threatening to deprive me of sleep! -Slashy
  4. In addition to general "roving around", my rover is the key to my entire surface exploration system. It's an SSTO in a rover package with docking ports, so you can imagine how useful it is. -Deliver a package to the surface. Anything from a manned lander can to a hitchhiker module. -Traverse rough terrain while hauling a package. -Assemble modules in- place. -Shuttle fuel. -Return to orbit and dock, either alone or with a lander can. Establishing colonies on the surface is a huge logistical job. The rover is the key to making it easy. Best, -Slashy
  5. I'm guessing a 1.1 Ah for the Note 4, and I'll definitely be getting one. Best, -Slashy
  6. No, Sir. That's a misunderstanding. My *current* phone (galaxy S3) has a 7 Ah battery. http://zerolemon.com/product-tag/TriCell-Battery/ These high capacity batteries are available for the Samsung Galaxy, Nokia Lumina, and LG Optimus. Best, -Slashy
  7. Well... this is why there are so many different phones out there. In my case, I use mine as a multimedia viewer, pocket-sized multitasking tablet, mp3 player with a huge library, and e-reader. This requires a display with serious resolution and lots of storage. I also use it for gaming, so that means lots of processing power. And since I use it for so many other functions, it means it's in nearly constant use. This requires lots of battery. Not knocking your needs or your choice. There's lots of options at a lot of price points and capabilities, and that's a good thing. Best, -Slashy
  8. I would not have expected RAPIERs to be legal, since they generate their thrust through internal combustion instead of solar power. But since that is the case, I definitely would not recommend ion engines for this job. RAPIER has better Isp and t/w and the tanks are much more mass-efficient. Just build for .6 t/w and minimal wings and let 'er rip. Best, -Slashy
  9. Setting aside the "apple/ samsung" thing, has anyone seen the LG G3's display? Holy schnikeys, Yo! If you haven't seen it yet, you gotta go check one out. That thing is all-around one heckuva piece of machinery. Removable back, battery, and expandable micro SD memory and *really* good specs all the way around.
  10. He doesn't *have* a case. He's just doing his obnoxious "fanboi" schtick and acting like everybody's bashing his beloved "AppleCorp" when they don't fawn over iPhones. *shrug* /may as well save yourself the trouble Best, -Slashy
  11. One minor point... I use my device to replace all the other portable electronics I used to have (or would've had but don't need). Tablet PC, GPS receiver, pocket calculator, guitar tuner, TV remote, MP3 player, IPSC timer, e-reader, portable gaming system, etc, etc. They're extremely handy for this role (and nearly all phones can do this nowadays)... but it needs to have lots of battery life to be convenient. Best, -Slashy
  12. Point #1: Carrying an extra battery and swapping it in a phone *designed* for that is not "narrow minded", it's common sense. Feel free to lug around your "battery bank" all day if that's your preference. Point #2: Tripling the use time of today's smart phones isn't *slightly* better, it fixes a major problem that many manufacturers (including Apple) got wrong: You can't have a pocket sized miracle device that replaces all your other electronic devices if it won't run all day every day without worrying about when and where you're gonna recharge it. My phone does that and yours doesn't. But you know... this isn't really about my phone or yours. It's really about *you*. Personally. Your post #216 in this thread uses the words "love" and "hate" so many times, I lost count. I don't think that's accidental. Your entire argument is emotionally driven, without a shred of reason or intellectual honesty. You "love" Apple. We know. We get it. But the iPhone is just.... a freakin' phone! It's got some advantages and some disadvantages, just like everything else out there. You shop around and pick whatever what works best for you. iPhones are alright... but not the best for my needs. And I don't see where they've broken any new ground with their latest offerings. The 6 and 6+ are year old tech in the current marketplace. Can you think of *anything* that the iPhone 6 is offering that other phones on the market don't already have? I mean... excluding Apple's older offerings, of course? I can't, and that's not me insulting your boyfriend or anything... I'm just telling it the way I see it. Regards, -Slashy
  13. Unfortunately, that glider wouldn't be able to travel fast enough at 11km altitude. I'd recommend a single pair of wings and either less fuel or more engines. You'll need about .6 t/w to make this work. Also...An ion glider might be able to circumnavigate Kerbin *or* keep up with the sun, but it can't do both. At least not at that altitude. You'll get roughly 25 minutes endurance from a single engine for each xenon tank, so 6 hours endurance from a single engine would require 15 tanks. No way you can make 175 m/sec with such a low t/w ratio. Good luck! -Slashy
  14. Tru 'dat, and Apple's not alone on this (sadly). If it has to be disassembled to get the battery out, that's a deal breaker for me. YMMV -Slashy
  15. Heck, that's not even a Samsung thing. That's just an electronics-with-batteries thing. I've never owned a cell phone that had to be disassembled just to change the freakin' battery and I hope I never have to. It's always been a simple 4 step process. 1) pop open battery compartment 2) pop out old battery 3) pop in fresh battery and 4) click shut battery compartment How did anybody get the idea in their head after all these years that this doesn't make perfect sense? Yeah... the battery in an iPhone *can* be replaced. So can the human heart. /rhetorical question //iPhone 7: Now with removable battery, micro USB charging cable, and IR Blaster! -Slashy
  16. Riight. So you're sitting in the club with your friends and notice that your phone is dead. You're gonna whip out your backup battery and... do what, exactly? Perform open-phone surgery on the bar?? Suppose I wanted to upgrade the battery in my iPhone to 7,000 mAH. How much is the tool kit for that? hehe -Slashy
  17. You just want to be in the positive, the more the better. I'm not aware of any mods that give total drag. Best, -Slashy
  18. Not so much. It's all about lift vs. drag and mass. Unless you're looking for an infiniglider, in which case the rule is "moar control surfaces". Lift is a fixed coefficient for each wing. Drag is composed of 2 parts; induced and parasitic. Induced is fixed, while parasitic is a function of mass (and almost nil for most wings). Mass is like any other part. The key to efficient gliding is high lift/drag and careful balancing of the CoG. There's no sweet spot in there AFA lift/mass ratio. The higher the better. Best, -Slashy
  19. 9/10 It shows good hustle. Best, -Slashy
  20. No argument here, and it goes back to my point: Most people protect their phone with a case and screen protector, and I'm in that group. Therefore, how the phone looks & feels when out of it's case is irrelevant... or at least should be. "Premium" to me is all about function, not form. I don't want an aluminum bezel if the back doesn't come off. I don't want a thinner profile if it means a weak battery. I don't care if the back is made out of glass, or metal, or plastic, or naugahide for that matter... I'm gonna have it in a case! But apparently "premium look and feel" matters to somebody. If I was in the majority on this, it wouldn't be a selling point. But it is, so I must be wrong *shrug* /Microsoft Zune had *excellent* "premium look and feel"... -Slashy
  21. Or at least as *some* would hope. I personally have no illusions about the survivability of an unprotected smart phone. My hat's off to anyone who can keep their phone looking like new without casing it, but I don't recommend that. #PracticeSafeText -Slashy
  22. Agreed. And gorilla glass isn't armor. If you drop it, it'll break. If you have sand in your pocket, it'll scratch. I've had my phone for 3 years, and it'd be indistinguishable from NIB... but nevertheless I've kept it in a case, with screen protector, and waterproofed the innards just to be sure. /all about the peace of mind -Slashy
