  1. I can fly within the atmosphere pretty well without SAS. In space... not so much. I can't hold a steady attitude without resorting to the warp cheat. Perhaps that will be improved in 1.2. Best, -Slashy
  2. I tried making my own stock PAPI lights a couple years ago. In addition to the problems stated above, lights don't actually show color unless you bounce them off of a surface and they seriously degrade frame rate. Overall, I didn't find them to be worth the aggravation. It'd be nice to have something integrated into the game that did the job well. JMO, -Slashy
  3. Temeter, That's cool by me. I've only ever done it old- school anyway. -Slashy
  4. Alshain, You could greatly minimize the blind spot with a single sat just under 180° from Kerbin (just far enough away from 180° to avoid solar occlusion of the relay) and extend the relay path to the other side of the system. Best, -Slashy
  5. Loving this new old- school twist to the story! Also Philfred's response flag -Slashy
  6. nosirrbro, I honestly don't know. It may have been. If it was, I didn't notice it working in the background. Not sure I would've, since I don't decline contracts. Sorry, -Slashy In the meantime... THIS HYPE TRAIN STOPS FOR NO MAN! Charlie stole the handle and the train, it won't stop goin', no way to slow down!
  7. Yeah, that's what I do; just let sucky contracts expire. I never outright decline a contract. I hear they're adding a new mechanic whereby declining a contract will result in less contracts of that type being offered. Best, -Slashy
  8. Yellowburn, Nothing that I've seen to prevent them asking. There's definitely something that would prevent me from accepting, tho'. Best, -Slashy
  9. Wait... did the Hype Train ™ just get shunted off onto a disused siding on the outskirts of Creepycoat Junction? / I don't like it here -Slashy
  10. Temeter, I'll be a bad journalist on this one. Any answer that's not a definitive "no" will be taken as "yes" "maybe" = "yes" "that's classified" = "absolutely" "no comment" = "guaranteed"... *edit*... but I will accept "I don't know" as "I don't know" -Slashy
  11. @RoverDude Sorry for pestering you again Do you know if the anomalies will be unique biomes for science collection purposes? Yes/ no/ can't say? I'll let you get back to what you're doing. Thanks, -Slashy
  12. First thing I'm gonna do once I have suitable tech is put up terrain mapping sats so I can find all of the anomalies for further inspection. Best, -Slashy
  13. Andem, I'm not suggesting you do anything at all. Make another thread, or not, or whatever. I'm just saying that if you complain on the Hype Train, you shouldn't be surprised or take it personally when your complaints fall on deaf ears. People aren't in this thread to complain or address your concerns, they're here to party. Best, -Slashy
  14. RoverDude, Thanks and I appreciate your time and attention! This is gonna rawk, -Slashy
  15. Thanks! So just so I'm 100% clear on this, the remote antennas have the same range as the KSC tracking station? When KSC is at 5G, the remote sites are also 5G and so- on?
  16. RoverDude, Sorry, what I mean to say is if the KSC tracking station is at level 2 (50Gm), what range would the Harvester-Massif tracking station be? Also 50G? 5G? Something else? Thanks, -Slashy
  17. RoverDude, Do you know off the top of your head (and can you share) what the ranges of the remote relays are at the upgrade levels? It's my understanding that the KSC tracking center goes 5G/50G/100G. Is that correct? Thanks, -Slashy
  18. *Shrug* If you say so, I probably do. I'll tell you what you are 100% misinterpreting: The meaning of the word "hype". Not saying you shouldn't complain about everything you disapprove of, disagree with, or find disappointing, but *really*... must you do it here? This is the Hype Train, not the disappointment wagon. Nobody here cares, and that fact really shouldn't surprise or aggravate you. Sorry, -Slashy
  19. Andem, Ya know... I simply don't have the energy to debate all of this with you. 1.2 has ground tracking stations, period, end of sentence, full stop. If that disappoints you, my condolences. They do have the option of disabling it if you wish to use some other system for networks... or none at all. Best, -Slashy / Let the hype train roll!
  20. True, but base facilities basically allow for 3 tonnes to orbit. Not much science available that way until you upgrade tracking. Less- skilled players will bog down trying to scrounge cash for the upgrade. Well... actually they won't, because ground tracking stations. Best, -Slashy From the career streams I saw yesterday, early career probes don't lose contact at any point during their flights in LKO. If you try to go to the Mun without a 5k antenna, you will lose contact. I heard (but did not see demonstrated) that the relay stations are less powerful than KSC. KSC upgrades for sure (5G, 50G, 100G), but I don't know if the relays also upgrade.. I'm personally kinda hoping that they don't. That'd give me an excuse to use the Mk3 cargo plane parts and engines to deliver more powerful relays out to the boonies. Best, -Slashy
  21. For the early career probes, there is no SAS or at best stability assist. Not enough to circularize when out of communication range.
  22. That would render you unable to achieve orbit until after you've upgraded the tracking station. Wouldn't that break the game pretty severely? Best, -Slashy
  23. Andem, If you didn't have that ground network, you'd lose control of your probes shortly after they go over the horizon from KSC. Perhaps you're not familiar with how this whole "hype train" thing works... Best, -Slashy
