  1. Couldn't you just have sent (forward copy to) the messages from the old account to yourself (new/current account)? Then you've have them available without the need for logging in to a separate account. And, while I doubt the mods here have the access rights to do so, an admin could (should be able to) move those records (merge them) into your current account... I'm pretty sure vBulletin has that ability (PHPBB does). There's more than one way to skin a cat.
  2. NASA's builds are starting to look more and more Kerbal ... which worries me.
  3. Considering a DeLorean is not space worthy, this would end badly lol.
  4. Our sun/star is called "Sol" (in Latin, less popular "Helios" in Greek), and KSP's sun/star is called "Kerbol". You owe me a dime.
  5. Heard on the news today (business channel) that Lego is running short on supply. http://www.cnbc.com/2015/10/21/lego-may-run-short-of-bricks-before-christmas.html
  6. If you want to speed up time, just grow old. Trust me.
  7. I give it a month after Porkjet releases it before somebody modifies it with teeth.
  8. One of the things you'll want to do FIRST before going out there and just throwing the plane, is to adjust the trim. That's essential with a glider, or for a powered plane as well. I found myself a nice hill with an open field below... doing gentle horizontal loftings by my 'helper' while I made the adjustments. 9. From what I'm reading so far, Nvidia has dropped DirectX 12 but it's not available yet - but it is WHQL certified. Also, some of what I'm seeing is that Windows Updates is placing components for DirectX 12 in some of the updates? One thing did that did spark some interest was the suggestion of uninstalling Service Pack 1, and then reinstalling it (for Windows 10). That might fix some DirectX problems some users have. - - - Updated - - - I just noticed your post on this. Hummm. Despite having a funkacated DirectX 11 install, perhaps this user could install DirectX 9 ... ? ... it won't hurt the system any, and KSP looking for it will find it.
  10. Unfortunately that I cannot do, I am not running Windows 10 and I don't want to - not even for test purposes. In reading that other link you've posted however, I am scouring other resources. If I find an actual 'solution', I'll post it here.
  11. He asked for a link. I gave him a link. The link contains all he needs to know - Windows Update. Also, you're not left without recourse. You could try to force (trick) Windows Update into reinstalling DirectX. This works for earlier versions of Windows, and I don't see why it shouldn't work for Windows 10 also, unless they've radically changed the registry. Open the Registry Editor ("regedit /v") and change the Version key value for the key "Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\DirectX"... make it an old version. The Windows Update program should pick that up and download and effectively reinstall it. There's also the "dxdiag" tool, run from a Command Prompt.
  12. I'll suppose a lot of this has to do with personal preference, and the kind of video you're watching, but you're right about 'that'. I don't know if you've ever noticed, but days of the long take are rare and few, just observe most movies and especially commercials ... there's a scene change about every 10 seconds or less. There is purpose to this. I'm sure we've a legitimate filmmaker or two in here who can and might expound on that.
  13. You must not have searched very hard ... Google "microsoft directx download". https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/179113
  14. I find H2O Delirious funny when he's with the rest of the crew; Alone, no so, kind of silly if not overly abusive. I've noticed that his videos are getting less views... he's making them too long, he should keep it to 10-15 minutes (unless he's doing a 'Best Of', then 30 minutes is sufficient).
  15. I gave it a try with heat shielding a short time ago, posted about it here. I made it as far as 142373k from the surface before my ship went poof.
  16. I don't know where you're getting your information from, but I can tell you I've been out there (in major industry) for the last 35+ years and big boxes are still alive and well. So lets just agree to disagree.
  17. Not true. Mainframes are alive and well. The 'academic setting' has nothing on big industry... if anything, they rely on access to what big industry provides. http://www.fool.com/investing/general/2015/01/24/heres-why-ibm-is-still-building-mainframes.aspx
  18. I learned that coffee percolators do not live forever.
  19. Well it's official... I'm mad as hell today, I had a bad day... my coffee percolator died this afternoon. It was one of these things... I got it in 2000. It's been faithful all these years. I just may bury it in the back yard, it's been that faithful to me.
  20. I watch Vanoss... makes me laugh.
  21. The two kind of work hand-in-hand, one of the reasons many psychotropic drugs used in depression treatment have both serotonin and dopamine re-uptake inhibitor properties.
  22. I have to laugh. This morning on the news I saw something about a new medical condition kids are finding themselves with - "Text-neck". It comes from excessive use of smartphones and tablets with poor posture. In my book, if you have text-neck you're a total loser. http://www.spine-health.com/blog/modern-spine-ailment-text-neck
  23. Personally, I can't stand phones. I miss my old simple little flip-phone. My current 'smart phone' I have dumbed down to an idiot ... I use it for phone calls and an occasional text message - that's it.
  24. Microsoft bought Skype like a year or two ago already. Old news. It's still a free download if anyone wants to use it... nothing says you have to buy-in to all the other options it offers. I used a very trimmed down version, just for messaging.
