Quick Question: Is anyone working on making Infernal Robototics compatable with RO? By the way I would not bother trying to use descent mode. It is broken for a lot of the pods and makes them flip over (Not like some don't do that with it off).
-
Yeah that would probably fix it. Now that I think of it, it is almost certainly because of the top decoupler has too much mass. Edit: Also, the extra mass is probably the reason the cover "sticks" to the capsule after being jettisoned.
-
I have carefully gone over the FASA apollo cm config to try to find the cause of its reentry problems. based on some quick calculations I did the mass for the capsule itself seems about right but I am not sure if the top decoupler has been included or not in the mass. It is either that, or the center of mass is off. Or worse still its aerodynamics could be off.

@JT2227 I agree, you guys have done an awesome job! Happy Late Thanksgiving to all!

Perhaps the config file that adds in the built-heat shield doesn't account for its mass. I will go check on that now. Edit: I checked the CM's mass, and the COM seems about right but I'm not sure if the actual mass is correct

I have noticed several bugs in FASA for realism overhaul: 1. The Apollo Comand Module is still unbalanced and will flip over causing it to burn up. This will happen regardless of whether or not descent mode is on. 2. Gemini is missing several things, notably decouplers. 3. RCS on several parts is messed up and they will continuously fire even when SAS is off and no inputs are being pressed.

Many of the mods in RO do not work in Win 64. I recommend using Active Texture Management instead.
-
It does have rcs, but it is only significant for yaw and pitch. its roll thrusters have about a tenth the power of the other ones.
-
The FASA Apollo command module needs roll authority. Without it reentry in descent mode will only result in a fiery death.

Hello There! This has probably already been asked before but it would but nice to have some sort of procedural engines system with realistic engine stats. When working with things such as RO, mods like procedural parts and wings are useful, but but only if you can find engines that work with them, which is not very easy. Again this is just a request so I don't want any of you great modders out there to feel pressured. ~plasmeus~

Make it where you start out with model rockets in career mode.

[0.25] Realism Overhaul w/ RedAV8R [Terminated]
plasmeus replied to RedAV8R's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
When I run RO only the Earth , moon , venus , and mercury are placed and textured correctly. The stock planets are still there and though mars is in the right spot it has duna's texture. This problem did not happen when I only had RSS installed. -
