  1. If you haven't seen Gintama I can highly recomend it. Takes a few episodes to warm up, but this is possibly the funniest Anime ever and there's a lot of it. Edit : Fullmetal Alchemist Elfen Lied Cowboy Bebop Death note Last Exile ^^ Big thumbs up for these also ^^
  2. I achieve this by setting up a correction burn at the ascending or descending node relative to the target planets orbit. This is usually a very low Delta V manouver. Something that I rarley see people doing (so it might be a mod like precise node that allows it, but not sure) is once you have an SOI change focus view on the planet in question and you should be able to see the projected trajectory next to the planet. This is really handy because you can zoom right in and tweak it to your exact needs. You'll also need to position the camera so the manouver node is visable in the background.

  4. Hi thedogs. I was running the DMP Server on a VPS hosted by Digital Ocean. Mminimal Ubuntu 14.04 server install, 1 core, 512 Mb of Ram, 20 Gb SSD & 1 Tb bandwidth for $5 a month. The performance was fine and I had no major issues. I will say we didn't have loads of peeps on there, but for a few friends it's more than adequate and the resources are scalable. It would cost me more in electricity than the monthly bill were I to run the server localy. If you are not familiar with Linux it might be a steep learning curve, but I've outlined the basics of running the .exe here. Digital Ocean also have tons of easy to follow guides regarding setting up your server. You'll need to create a user, configure ssh access & set up a firewall.   5. Hi Thought I'd share my experiences from the last day in the hope it might save someone else some time in the future. I'm a dual booter with Ubuntu 14.04 and Win 7. I much prefer using Linux, but due to another game I'm playing I've been using Windows a lot recently and that's where I've been playing KSP also. I decided to try the 64 bit Linux client out to see if it was any more stable than the Win 64 bit (which IMO it is way more stable), however I was faced with a horrendous hit in performance ... pretty much made the game unplayable. Under 3 fps and a high physics load on a ship with less than 150 parts. Space centre, VAB & Tracking station all worked fine, the problem was only apparent when controlling a vessle or in map view. I know that the game runs fine in Linux on my machine as I'd run it before with no issues. Here's my specs : AMD Phenom 2 X6 1090T BE (OC to 3.8 Ghz) 8 Gb DDR3 1866 Mhz GTX580 3 Gb I thought that maybe with one of the recent updates something had gone wrong so I tried various fixes and settings alterations none of which helped the issue. Turns out that it was my copied (from Win 7) save causing the problems. Really wish I had of checked this earlier as I literally spent the whole day trying different settings, tweaks & mods to no avail. I'm pretty sure I've seen something similar to this mentioned in this thread (with regards to the settings.cfg?). Not sure, so many pages it's all a bit of a blur, however I would say that if you are migrating a save and are having performance problems this might be the cause. tl;dr Migrating saves across OS' can cause performance problems. Update: Looks like I jumped the gun on this one. The problem has just re-occured in my new (linux only) save, so something is causing this to happen. I'll update as I find out more. Update: It seems that Karbonite (or one of the mods packaged with it) was casuing the performance hit in Linux, updating it solved the problem.
  6. This was from a fresh Ubuntu 14.04 (Don't hate me!) minimal server install hosted on Digital Ocean. Maybe I had a brain fart when first trying to install mono, but at least that PPA is there for anyone who doesn't have it in their standard repo's. All hail the mighty Penguin!!!!
  7. Hi I'm new to the forums and just wanted to say thanks godarklight for a great Mod, one of many developed by a truley awesome community. Don't know if this has been mentioned already in the thread, but if anyone was wanting to run this server on Linux (Desktop, VPS or VM server) it works almost out of the box with Mono. There are a few steps you'll need to perform. (If you're not running a Debian based distro use whatever package manager you usually use, yum if you're a RHL head or whatever). Navigate to your DMPServer folder and execute the following commands: sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install mono-complete sudo chmod u+x DMPServer.exe Then start the server with: mono DMPServer.exe If you don't have Mono in any of your repo's you'll need to add it and this should work: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:keks9n/monodevelop-latest I've found that unless you have ownership of all the folders and files you'll need to run the server with sudo, due to the creation of a DMPServerSettings.txt.tmp file that will be owned by root. To avoid this navigate to where your DMPServer folder is located and do: sudo chown <username>:<groupname> DMPServer -R This will recursivley alter the user and group ownership of the DMPServer directory and all the sub files and folders. You'll also probably want to run the server inside screen so it doesn't die when you disconecct from ssh. If you are not familiar with screen do a search on it, really handy for this sort of thing.
