Biomes & Satellites.
weeble replied to Miro Beero's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
I'm pretty sure it'll be implemented eventually. I think they're more concerned with bigger game play improvements, especially as scansat does this exact thing and is one of the more stable mods. So I'm guessing they're not too concerned with adding it right now... -
SpaceX's Falcon 9R test rocket just blew up.

TacSelfDestruct is the mod you're thinking of. -
What Do you do when you are bored and playing KSP?
weeble replied to iRaven's topic in KSP1 Discussion
KSP is one of the only games I have and I'm starting to get pretty tired of playing it all the time... I'm just going to take a break until they do a few more updates. Maybe try finding another game that can interest me -
I just have to say that I love these textures and parts. Is there any future plans on making Chaka styled MKS modules? That would make my day! I like MKS/ORS a lot but for some reason I just don't like the textures/colors.

Hey I ran into a problem, I started a new game and I did the normal eva/sample on the launchpad but I just clicked recover while Jeb was EVA and debrefund deleted my ship!!! So I went bankrupt and had to start over again...

That is a fantastic idea. If you want to watch your docking via IVA then why not use camera's + RPM, just set the different monitors to all the angles... Then it doesn't matter that you need a docking port on top to control it from For landing however this is the best idea I've seen yet, how did I not even consider this? Adding some stadium lights that came w/ one of the mods and this idea would make landing child's play.

I haven't really noticed any serious frame rate problems and I have most of the mod packs installed and use 32 bit. I usually run between 2.6 to 3 gb even with stupid large rockets/stations/bases. My computer is roughly similar except for the GPU as yours is about 3 or 4 years newer. Are you playing w/ your settings optimized? Are you using Advanced Texture Manager? If you're still having problems try setting your desktop for performance. Windows 7 and 8 use pretty intensive graphics so that can hog some resources too.

[WIP] KERES - Stockalike launch vehicle and spacecraft mod
weeble replied to Borklund's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
Can't wait to try these parts out! They look fantastic so far. Yeah Borklund I don't get what he meant either. You don't have to balance any parts for FAR... As long as your parts are balanced in regards to stock parts then it'll work fine w/ FAR provided the aerodynamic info is made. That's just adding a CFG and someone will do it pretty quickly as these parts are going to be a must have for many players out there when it drops. -
Yeah SQUAD works on the more important parts like gameplay mechanics and major fixes. I kind of like the fact that this game has one of the best modding communities and is entirely the reason behind my over 400 hrs of play time. With out them I probably would have stopped playing after 50 hrs. Besides the system works well. The community gets quick updates on multiple mods at the same time while the devs work on core parts.

Using moons to slingshot
weeble replied to fuzzdemon's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
There's definitely the mod that tells you what phase angle/ ejection angle and even how much DV you'll need to do it, it's called Protractor Continued. It tells you everything you're looking for and it works perfectly for .24. The module part it adds looks like a scientific calculator -
I can't wait to try this out, just earlier I was looking something that will make use of those drills. Looking forward to mining some ore hotspots on Minmus! You are awesome.
-
It's in the tech tree now. It's not unlocked until later though. I think smaller pieces should be unlocked earlier though. Just make sure you use the price fix a page or 2 back. I found that out after burning through 2 million funds!
-
If I'm not mistaken, when you make a subassembly it will only attach to the node that your root part was attached to. Your pics are weird as it has 2 attachment nodes, for me it only has 1 attachable node. I fixed it by using the Select Root mod. Now I don't have to rebuild every subassembly part. Try it, you'll love it.

Yea FAR makes the game many times harder. Sure you can get to LKO with 3,200 ÃŽâ€v but every other part is 10x harder. No more big rovers, stations or heavy lifters. No more asparagus staging. More specific design requirements. And you need to do actual gravity turns or you'll blow up. So yeah every part of the game is harder with FAR. In stock there's no challenge. You just asparagus stage everything and you can get ANYTHING into LKO.

There aren't any stability flaws in FAR, it's usually design flaws if anything. You shouldn't spam SAS or need to use RCS. Actually with FAR/DRE you should be keeping your SAS turned off or it'll throw you off your periapsis! What you need to do is make landers that are short. I guarantee your lander is just too tall and you're not using drogue chutes. If you make short landers using the MK1 landing can (octagon pod) and keep your fuel tanks on the side and use drogues you'll never flip. I have a lander with a heat shield and I couldn't make it unstable or flip out of control if I tried! Once you get good at designing the landers, you can even angle it so you coast horizontally in case you come in too steep.

It's called Konquest by ASET, link below. http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/79880-WIP-KONQUEST-Modular-components-for-permanent-bases-by-ASET-%2814-05-2014%29 Fustek's station kit and home 3. I believe there's also a few parts in the LLL pack as well.

Not enough 'scenario' contracts.
weeble replied to treejoe4's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
I replied to another post with the same question, Fine Print adds all that stuff... -
This idea would be a monumental undertaking. The missions are easily doable as there's a post that tells you how to make contracts and what you're looking for is explained there. I really like the idea of news. Something like a scrolling banner that runs kind of like Simcity 4. They were all ways fun to read, like when the Llama's got mad at you for creating pollution. It could just string random bits of this or that from the different corporations, maybe even pull contracts that you complete for content!

Possible missions
weeble replied to demian_travis's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Look into Fine Print and Mission Control 2. They have links in the community mod list. Fine Print adds station, base, plane and rover missions. Mission Control adds stations and research based missions. Idk if they work together though. -
Possible missions
weeble replied to demian_travis's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Something like: Mission Controller 2 http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/43645-Mission-Controller-2-Preview-Version-1C-%28KSP-24-2%29 Or my favorite Fine Print http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/88445-0-24-2-Fine-Print-v0-5a-Formerly-Extra-Contracts-%28July-27%29 Fine Print is newer but adds aerial/rover reconnaissance, station/base building as well as fixes some of the impossible missions like testing stabilizing clamps on the Mun... It's pretty cool and I like it a lot, just be careful as his contracts have lower payouts than stock so you really have to figure out if you can complete it profitably. Having Tac, Far, and DE installed a lot of the base building would never pay out enough unless you stack several contracts into a single flight.
