  1. Ehh could all ways use additional engines. I like options since I started playing w/ RealFuels
  2. I'm w/ NWDogg, I haven't had any problems whatsoever using .25! I've modded the game with most of the mods that were updated and didn't have a single crash. Now of course I play with fewer as the part catalog was ridiculous to find the parts I was looking for. OpenGL + .25 my game has never ran this long without crashing. Sure it slows down from time to time but for the most part my game looks fantastic and heavily modified. Although I haven't had the temperature problem, even after running the game with high part counts for 6-7 hours! So you might want to open it up and reapply some thermal paste or consider upgrading your cooler. To the OP: Your problem is probably due to switching the windows. Sometimes that will cause errors unless you're in windowed mode. And my pc was worse than that when I started playing in .23 so I won't say anything about that. Although w/ 5gb Ram minus the .75-1gb for the OS = 4gb then you're using 2.8 which leaves 1.2 gb for the rest of the processes. You might have a resource hogging up some of the ram you have. I noticed that sometimes a service will have a memory leak and take extra resources and that can cause it to crash too. Do you run the game with anything else running? Maybe your entire PC is running out of ram...
  3. I believe there was a tweak guide floating around a while back. It had you reduce the water animations which caused a decent amount slowdowns. Other than that, Master Tao is right. Just turn everything down except physics. I had an Intel Core 2 Duo and ran the game without too many problems as long as I kept part count down. So try to find a good tweak guide and follow what Tao said.
  4. Yea sounds like you could get a lot out of reading/watching some videos and maybe use Mechjeb.
  5. +1 to that one. But if you're into that then you can't forget B9. All 3 of those should be essential for planes!
  6. Man there's a few science mods available! You have Dmagic. There's: Station science adds I think another 10 or so experiments. Tarsier Space Technology adds a few Rovers pack (don't know if updated) L-Tech Scientific Industries (don't know if updated) Orbital Material Science adds a few cool experiments and works off of Station Science (when it gets updated) Interstellar offers a cool telescope The most important thing to add though is Crowd Source Science Logs. It changes a most of the science definitions that are used. I love Dmagic and Station Science and when it gets updated I'll definitely add Orbital Material Science
  7. I know, I haven't had a problem since using open GL either! Since I started using that, I got rid of ATM and haven't looked back. I read that they were going to start working on the performance issues on the next phase of beta testing, so hopefully that'll clear up some issues and it'll be more optimized. I'll add my mod lists in a little while. I have two different installs one completely realistic with RF without RSS/RO and one with less realism and more part packs.
  8. Yeah most of the station mods have been suggested. Interstellar hasn't really slowed down my pc, so I don't really know how it'll explode your pc. You have most of the mods all ready so I don't really know what more you could want from a station. I mean there's refueling, command stations for Remote Tech 2, station science to gain science, interstellar adds a telescope for additional science, scansat/interstellar for resource detection, oks for extended life support, EPL for station based construction, you have FinePrint which offers station contracts. A better contract package is Mission Controller 2 they offer repair, building, historic, civilian transportation, as well as supply contracts for refueling and life support. With this installed you should be able to make a good profit on building, supplying and running your stations. Aside from that, that's pretty much anything you could really want to do in the game! I think if you're bored with all that installed you're not challenging yourself enough or that you need to more or less role play the stuff more. I mean sending up a station and building incredibly complex designs is pretty fun even without the use of mods.
  9. I have Trajectories and Engineer Redux and on Redux, they tell you what biome you'll impact and an estimated time of landing. Of course, they aren't too accurate if you use realism mods that affect atmosphere
  10. I keep getting land/orbital research missions for places like Minmus, Duna, and Moho before I even made it to the Mun. It's not that big of a deal but kind of annoying to have to cancel 5 contracts to get to one that I can actually complete. When will civilian contracts be out?
  11. While it's not really a fix, I found that using FAR helped reduce the problems of separating SRB's. On another note, thank you so much for your fixes. I killed Jeb, Bill, and Bob about 5 or 6 times due to the EVA ejection bug. The first time I witness the EVA bug was when I had Jeb do an EVA at like 70KM and the hatch was pointing towards Kerbin. He kinda of got launched into a sub-orbital trajectory and burned up on reentry. It's not too bad though because he was spinning so bad I'm pretty sure he lost consciousness...
  12. Any plans on Real Fuels on this one? Would be perfect w/ RSS + RF
  13. I gotta admit that I'm so hooked on the RF + KIDS using these engine configs. I was just looking at Chaka Monkey Exploration part pack and they seem to be some of the most realistic rockets, is there any chance we'll have support for their engines?
  14. Hm I'll have to try that. Do you use any engine packs?
  15. Bookmarked and eagerly waiting for the release. Looks amazing!
  16. Yea me too. This is actually one of the first trees I've seen w/ MKS/OKS parts in it. Hopefully KSPI is added too!
  17. I used to use regular MJ + FAR without too many problems. Of course every design needs to have its profile tweaked with test launches. I think I used turn start at 1km and and a turn end of like 50 km and a orbit of 100km. But honestly like S1 said, your rocket should fly itself with a natural gravity turn. YouTube has some good videos as does Scott Manley in his interstellar quest on doing gravity turns
  18. Being condescending and insinuating that modders here aren't top notch or that good, isn't the best way to get your ideas into the game. You come off rude and snobby And if you've done that much IT work you'd know its called programming not coding.
  19. I would send a message or post something under one of the people that designed the custom suits. See if they can make a texture for a jumpsuit. I think it would be cool for Iva and kerbin atmosphere evas
  20. It would be cool to have preassembled solar panels built into fuselages. Add or remove it with a right click texture change
  21. Iva's are a pain to make and all the space is pretty much all ready utilized. A complete overhaul of the pod would need to be done.
  22. There's tree loader and its pretty good stuff but it isn't .25 yet
  23. It just wouldn't make sense to use an mk2. You need to consider having a probe core and docking port. Plus the rcs + fuel to connect parts. I just think that's too much work reinventing the wheel. Why not consider using b9 or one of the many space shuttle replicas and just using them. That will give you a reasonable amount of space to work with at least. I would love to see inflatable parts that fit in a cargo bay, I just think the bays in the mk2 are too small to launch anything other than small probes
  24. I wish we could get a optional menu to add heat shielding to the MK2 parts. Don't even get me started on the MK3 parts! Seriously there's no point in them at all for the moment. They don't really fit anything, no LFO tanks and jet/sabre engines just look weird on it without an attachment that actually fits that tapers it to a circular shape. I mean right now it's just wasting precious space. Can't wait to see what happens with DRE and Mk2 parts, hopefully someone will add heat shielding to the wings/fuselages. Hopefully they'll contract Porkjet to do a lot more parts than just a few wings. But then again, if that is the case I'm sure he'll just make another mod that adds those parts.
