  1. Well, since the objects were unidentified by the OP, then yes, they were UFOs. Implying they are piloted alien spacecraft is a different speculation.
  2. The Universal Storage mod contains a few parts that mix fuels together to generate electricity, if I remember correctly. It's been a few months since I used it. I'm sure someone else here can correct me, but that mod might be a good place to look for your alternate power needs.
  3. Yeah I should clarify I also don't think it should be compulsory. To me it's just common sense.
  4. I've been subjected to vaccines far more often than the average person, I can guarantee that. Between the military and GOV work, I've been pricked every singe time the Feds think there is even the most remote chance of risk. Smallpox, Anthrax, H1N1 (that was rushed to the market in a scare), flu shots every year, all the "standard" US shots (which I've had in some cases more than half a dozen times). I personally think it's far too much, but I usually have no choice. And the result? I'm perfectly fine. My kids, both of whom were born after a vast majority of these vaccines, are perfectly healthy. The fact is, diseases part of the standard US vaccine plan that flare back up occur in populations that were not vaccinated. The anti-vaccine crowd only has fear mongering to point to- evil corporations and conspiracy theories. But all that flies in the face of cold, hard facts. Fact is, people are far more healthy when vaccinated. Anything else is Russian roulette.
  5. I see what you are saying K^2. Respectfully, I think you are making the answer to the OP's question much more complicated than it needs to be. There are all sorts of heady ways to look at a scientific issue like this with some very advanced sciences. But in the end, there must be an answer to how much time, from our Earth perspective, has elapsed since the Big Bang. What I'm trying to get at is that our best science doesn't know and can only estimate based on a number of complicated (and I believe misguided) assumptions. By the way, one of your posts alluded to reading scientific papers. That's great! I try to stay current as well.
  6. So to recap as I understand it, this thread so far has indicated the amount of time from our point to the Big Bang is essentially unknown. We can measure it from our perspective, but there are discrepancies with other known sciences that make the actual calculation subjective. Am I correct? Really just trying to understand here. And yes, I read the whole thread. Thanks.
  7. I think for KSP to have greater impact in actual scientific pipelines it needs to be more accurate. Specifically regarding fuels, weights, etc. The systems and weights used now are useful as simple numbers that interact with each other, but like another thread mentions, they are not equivalent to real-world. If KSP were to include real-world fuels and a more realistic physics curve, I think it could see much more use in the actual scientific/educational community. Which would, in turn, be a yes to your answer.
  8. From the papers I have read (I stick to actual, published papers rather than articles to avoid sensationalism and misreporting), there have been only two objects definitively detected in regions of space dubbed the "Inner Oort Cloud." 2012 VP113 and Sedna. Both are on eccentric orbit tracks well beyond Neptune. Other than these two objects, there has been no published data confirming the existence of the Oort cloud. I'm not saying it does or doesn't exist, I'm just pointing out that there is a whole lot of speculation that it exists, but it is far from definitive. Unless you consider two a cloud. I think a common belief in this thread is the desire to establish cold, hard (no pun intended) facts on which to make a determination. If someone wishes to know for sure whether the Oort cloud exists, then the answer right now is "Undetermined." Strictly scientifically speaking, we do not know for sure. It is one possible explanation, but there are others that we may discover are true. Our system moves through space so we could be picking up debris as go along, who knows. Based on known facts, the Oort cloud is undetermined. Probability of being true is subjective and as we see in this thread, varies.
  9. I think there is at least one mod along this line, but I would still prefer to see it added to the stock game. It would add more depth and purpose.
  10. How stable is this mod? I'd love to try it out, but adding so much more to the stock system seems like it may be unstable. Maybe just my impression, IDK.
  11. I have a Mac laptop I use when I travel, so I loaded KSP and a few mods from my PC version. The only trouble I had was that memory usage maxed out faster on my laptop than my massive home rig. So I couldn't quite tell if the mod was incompatible or I just don't have enough RAM. It's not a big deal though.
  12. This mod is a great idea. I had just started using it when I got called away to travel for work. It adds some extra purpose to launching something into orbit, and it makes a great way to survey a surface before landing. Appreciate the work!
