  1. Wow, Red, all the way to orbit and everything.. that was a lot more than I was expecting. I guess I should have read my own challenge. And your plane flies great, DYJ. I tend to over-engineer things I think.

  3. To reiterate, this is for planes. Perhaps we should start one for rockets as well.
  4. Create a steerable ground vehicle that can launch a space plane. The plane must be capable of standard take offs and landings, no VTOLS!
  5. I hate to be picky, but is there any way we can get a version of the VTOL hinge that rotates more than 90 degrees, say 100 or 110? makes slowing the planes and balance at take off a lot easier. Thanks again.

  10. Here is a large delta wing VTOL using Damnyoujapan\'s nifty new engines.
  11. Using the Damned Aerospace Helicopter Unit and the Damned Robotics Parts build a helicopter that can airlift at least any 2 connected target parts. Must have at least a screen shot showing the helicopter in flight carrying the target, preferably a video of the actual grab and lift.
  12. I ran into issues with the engines hitting the ground on landing as well, Monk. I really dislike having to put my landing gear in such a low position, so I may try going back to rotating engines. Anyway, here is an attempt with a considerably larger, longer range plane.

  14. Well, Red, you are just Mr. Negative aren\'t you? Talk to me about your VTOL when you can land it on the KSC tower. The batteries are because I converted the engines to run off of electricity.. not realistic I know, but i was going for a ship that could actually fly like an extra-terrestrial ship, so I wanted more duration than the standard fuel tanks would give me.

  18. Can float along the water totally unattended at max speed until it hits something and is capable of water landings and takeoffs.
  19. Impressive sir! I have tinkered withe the pusher props to make them solar powered, but coupled with the blimp I think that would be cheating as distance is only really limited by patience at that point. It is a bit more interesting with solar powered engines on planes though as you have to be careful to not be over water when you lose daylight.
  20. Just to check to see if other people are getting similar results: I run most o my Kerbin MapSats at around 70km as close to 90deg orbits as i can get without too much fiddling around. Running at 10x time compression i get about 25% corrupt data on the x-axis readings, either above 180 or below -180. Anyone else seeing anything similar? I am running the same sat at 5x compression right now to see if i get the same results.
