Launch pad/Runway quirks

And is there nothing Squad can do about this? -
You're comparing apples to a book about oranges simply to support your bias.

What I hate about KSP forums/IRC! (not a moan, don;t worry!)
jros83 replied to kiwi1960's topic in The Lounge
My father first had a home PC in 1985, when I was 2. By 3 he started me on it, baby steps. By 1988 I was pretty much independent in basic usage. In elementary school, when we had time devoted to learning PCs and Apples, I was bored beyond belief because I could have instructed it myself at the tender age of 10. My first foray in to social media was *shudder* America Online chat rooms (of course, my father had no idea). -
Help getting into Orbit without going bankrupt
jros83 replied to Orc's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Orc when you have the chance, KSP is definitely worth the buy. And I am massively critical of most modern games. I can't find any viable reason to pass up KSP. At all. If you enjoy this sort of thing, you will enjoy KSP immensely. -

With no malice towards Squad, the more we inflate the importance and "necessity" of mods, the less inclined Squad will be to include decent additions in future updates. -
Launch pad/Runway quirks

Sometimes, and even when it doesn't, it still sways and acts a little goofy. Because it WANTS to drop in to place I can only assume. -

I find it odd, dubious, and not the least bit telling that you are picking a fight with Kiwi over this point. Interesting. Very interesting. Bolstered by the fact that you make a point of hiding your age. Kiwi illuminates a very a real issue with the internet community today. Younger folk have zero social skills and incredibly naive misconceptions, on average. There ARE exceptions. But they are just that. EXCEPTIONS. The fact that he riled you up enough with his post to start flinging poo, no matter how subtle you are flinging it, leads me to suspect that he struck a nerve with you. But I'm not here to flame or fight. Just pointing out an observation. Again, another person oddly and tellingly taking this personally... -
Wobble. Where does it come from?

Not shaking apart. Wobbling to the point of not being able to get it on course again. -

That's debatable. -
I wouldn't say "required" but I could live with it if it indeed is "simple."

Launch pad/Runway quirks
jros83 replied to jros83's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
And again what's with craft spawning just off the ground and dropping in to place? That small drop can and usually does have an appreciable negative affect. On runway vehicles not so much, but on the pad it definitely does. The sole answer can not be to use those.... ugh what are they called (I don't have the game open)? The red stabilizers... That can't be the only answer. 1. in Career you don't start with them and 2. that's just a band-aid. In real life rockets don't start 2 meters off the ground, drop in to place and start to sway because of the drop. To be honest I am surprised there isn't more talk about this in the community. -

Aaaaaaand right away someone jumped right to "get a mod." -

While scrolling through this thread I've seen words that bring tears to my eyes. Among them are: MUDs 5.25 and 3.5 Windows 3.1 DOS 286, 386, 486 RAM sizes between 64 and 256k I'd like to add to the bittersweet nostalgia list CGA, EGA, VGA, and "oh my gosh so beautiful!" SVGA Monochrome, 4 colors, 16 colors, 32 colors, 256 colors Center joystick, then click button. Move joystick to upper left, then click button. Move joystick to lower right, then click button. Sid Meier before Firaxis LucasFilm Entertainment -

Because war is in human nature. It's not like people who demonstrate against war ever have a real chance of eradicating it but simply fail at it; it's that you can't eradicate it. War will stop when human nature stops. -

Then I refer back to my issue of why do craft spawn in to the pad and runway just off the ground and drop in to place? If they spawned in flush against the surface, it would help mitigate the quirkiness. Though, I get that due to game design and reduced dimensions, there is no "flat" surface on Kerbin, so I get nothing could start perfectly flush. But there has to be a better solution than spawning in a meter or two above the ground and falling in to place. -
I could definitely "live with that."

Sometimes I feel the line between "Just get a mod" and "Suggestion for future update" has become much too blurred. Mods are nice, but, if the answer to everything is "there's a mod for it" then why should Squad bother making any changes at all...? I don't like to use mods, and honestly I feel sometimes the community makes modding more important than it ought to be.

Wobble. Where does it come from?
jros83 replied to jros83's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Oddly enough the simpler the design the more I get critical wobbling. Larger and more complicated, less wobble. I don't use MechJeb. I'll just keep plugging away at it. -
Wobble. Where does it come from?

1. Tall or short, doesn't matter. 2. Not player mistake, because this happens with minimal to no player input as well. 3. SAS turned on or off, SAS module attached or not attached. Makes no difference. Unless it's a physical pilot's SAS skill. But if you read my original post you'll see I already touched on that. 4. Once again... please reread my post. 5. ONCE AGAIN PLEASE REREAD MY POST and do understand that size connected to equal size is implied in my comment about symmetry. 6. "etc. etc." to overcome: 1. Makes no difference. Still happens with struts. Unless you care to elaborate? 2. Already discussed fins, and please assume I know enough about placement... 3. We've already discussed SAS... 4. This is an empty platitude... 5. "etc. etc." again... By the way, the word is "your" not "youre." And "you're" requires an apostrophe. As for grav turn, that has no bearing on the topic. I'm sorry, but your reply was borderline trollish, blatantly condescending, and not helpful in the least. -

Apparently some kids in IRC are too young and naive to know that IRC is possibly older than some of them are... lol. I'm 32, and since I was 25 the internet has become progressively more obnoxious each year to me. -

Isn't there a way to turn off decouplers from allowing fuel flow? -
I'd just like to chime in that I'm against life support being made stock. Some things IMHO opinion are best left abstracted and obviated.
