Seems to me they could use it to drive Optimus. So first, you'd get a quadriplegic user who could use the bot symbiotically, through commands, and neuralink driven teleoperation/training. Later, you make a version that is a humanoid robot... suit. The user can then WEAR the Optimus variant for mobility. What a huge change in quality of life.

Not wanting to just steal his link, I reposted his reply, instead. I have a buddy who follows fusion stuff closer than I have, I'll see what links he has and look at them at some point.

I think a norm around the ancient USENET practice of "Ob" (obligatory) content related to the subject at hand would go a long way. If a subject is tangential—like fusion—then either a direct connection to SpaceX... "Here's an image of a delivery to Roberts Road in FL of equipment from Fusion Corp!" or at least some legit SpaceX content/update within the post.

Time synced IFTs. PS—taking the SpaceX thread towards fusion seems like pages and pages of off topic, better to make a thread for that, IMO.

Musk had been giving the talks with BFR updates in September, so this was following that update, video of subscale Raptor testing, large tank testing, etc. All this before Commercial Crew when it was largely assumed Boeing would fly first.

Chutes for 100 and 200 ton vehicles would be HUGE (heavy). They'd also need to be cut for propulsive landing. Starship terminal velocity is thought to be ~70m/s I think (have to watch old SpaceX animation). That's about 2 tons of propellant.

Musk's reply to that tweet was "Do it"
