  1. Ok I think i have it worked out now, thanks for some answers. I can't allow my nose beyond 5% from prograde when I drop my 1st stage SRB's. Once the second stage starts accelerating the rocket becomes very stable. again thanks yall ps I guess this ends rockets with no fins at all.
  2. Since I started using 1.3, I have noticed my capsule and heat shield both create lift. I believe this is why all my ships flip out of control after dropping the first stage. I am keeping the Blue lift bubble below the yellow center of weight marker for all stages that will be used in the atmosphere. Does anyone have a tutorial on how to build stable rockets in 1.3? I can make it to orbit in smaller craft but If I try to build one to go to the Mun the craft always flips out of control when I drop the first stage. PS: how does a heat shield or capsule produce lift when the surface creating the lift it is inside of a staging clamp where air can not get to it?
  3. man, I wish everyone would supply an win x64 version and just say no support. I can get, what I want to work on x64 so Thank YOU!!!!!!!! lol without x64 I cant put half the mods Im addicted to, even running in openGL. I have been gone for a few months cuz of this and a busted computer but im almost back lol Thanks again! (still gotta run windows cuz of my hardware :-( lol )
  4. Just wanted to say thanks for your help. DSSLoader and converting everything did make this load so so so much faster but i didn't save much memory. I am going to reinstall and see what happens. I have noticed that this game remembers files really really bad lol if you copy a mod folder to your desktop(so you have a back up), at least for me, that folder can not be deleted while the game is running because it thinks its open in the game but I have seen my memory usage increase over time too ( like the two people were talking about) Reinstalling usually fixes it but I havn't been able to find what is causing it yet. All I know is somthing is making the game unstable over time and reverting exacerbates the problem big time. Reinstalling fixes it for me until the first time the game crashes, after that, its just a matter of time b4 the game won't run anymore. edited: but I don't think its TR, I was thinking it was unity but now im thinking it might be DX... in fact im thinking the KSPx64issues in window is not unity at all... or not as much as everyone says. Im thinking its DX. More specificly DX11 because, when I was running kspx64 I didn't have the issues using DX9c. B4 I was forced to use KSPx86 due to mods disabled for the windows version of KSPx64... with all my textures and mods and no DSSloader or ATM the game simply could not run on the 32bit version. This is however, forcing me to go small and keep it tidy and I don't think thats a bad thing. once I get this back on the x64version, it can only run better... at least thats my thinking lol
  5. Yes I am using EVE and I have 1.5x cloud density.... I haven't thought to look in that because I didn't realize it changed the cloud colors, I thought the atmosphere color changed the cloud colors lol. I bet that's it, thanks.
  6. Is there a reason you know of that I can't change the color of Jool? Its taking the maps but... I can't get rid of the green. It seems I can only make it lighter green. I have tried everything I know to try, including editing the plant and atmo color with kittopia (or what ever) planetary editing tool and that lightened the green a little but not much.
  7. ok, i just saw that you have an update and i haven't installed it yet and this really isn't a big deal, I just found it humorous. I did what you said to unlock my camera and it worked but now the airfield I spawned at is gone so Im sitting in the desert with no runway to take off on. I like the idea about the different airfields costing money to use for career mode...
  8. Thanks, good to know for the next time I reload. However, I lost my camera controls again when I installed Raster Prop Monitor. I can only take off from KSC launchpad or runway and keep the controls (I can land on them fine). I think its just a config and, if it is, I can get it worked out eventually. Since Raster is so cool, I was wondering if someone already had a config for it?
  9. Im not sure what the deal is but I can't get the all in one pack to install correctly, no matter what I do. If I use the All in one pack, and the newest Konstructs I lose camera controls in flight. I have installed a couple of the individual packs and those are working correctly. The first time I installed it I forgot to remove Konstructs from the all in one pack and it changed Konstructs back to the .24.2 build. removing Konstructs and reinstalling the correct version did not fix that, not sure why but I had to start over installing all my mods so I could get this working. So, im thinking if peeps are having the same kind of problems i was having... just install the packs not the all in one. Its a bummer too cuz I add one modification at a time and it will take all day to get everything I want back lol BTW AWESOME MOD, its nice to have something to fly over or drive around.
  10. This is a Stock Game issue. I am going to read, again, lol b4 I post in stock game issues... or what ever. Or can you just move this into Stock game support for me? Thanks again I have to get wings in this new game to recreate this though... It did it with my saved game in a stock game so i have a fresh game going to make sure, my saved game isn't the problem
  11. OK, sry I forgot this stuff (KSP .25x64 from the KSP store, not on steam anymore, and I can't list the versions numbers of my mods right now but I downloaded the most up to date version of ALL of them yesterday. There is no crash logs as the game is not crashing) I do have a few errors in debugging but they seem unrelated to this and i don't know how to copy those log entrys without just typing them out (they won't help in this case, at least I don't think they will) I must have missed the example so Ill go back and look at that again. And thanks NathanKell... Ill try this again on a stock install and see if its still there. Ill post what I find out when i can. slumpie, I ment I only have 2 mods that AVC are reporting to be incompatible... I haven't tested all of these mods yet but so far they are working decently, the game is playable and does not crash.
  12. This really does look cool Xim. Let me know if there is something I can do to help. I have quite a bit left to learn but I will help where I can.
  13. I have this outline finished, kinda, but I haven't played the game much lately. So, I am enjoying .25 now and finding all the cool new stuff lol... I didn't see the new flight computer until last night, now I have to learn how to use it. Ill be back soon. Edited: My new GPU said I Quit, Ill be a bit longer....
  14. I am not sure exactly what is going wrong here so I don't know where to ask this but with the update to .25, I am now having trouble getting my aircraft to fly as expected. I think this may be an issue with editor extension... these are the mods I have right now and seem to be working correctly, but I have more to try than I already know is working. I was building my top stage in the VAB and I changed it to SPH mode for the last few things on that stage. When I switched it back to VAB mode, adding or moving wings stopped changing the blue lift marker... but only in some situations, not sure how to explain that part... I went back and rebuilt the second stage using only VAB mode and that stage started flying correctly, but my top stage was still uncontrollable. The only mods I have here that are not built for KSP .25 are TVPP and KineTechAnimation but i removed them and still had the issue so its not them. Im wondering if there are any issues like this with... even less moded games than i have here.... I had to remove FAR, all the procedural mods, and:(... that improved everything except this issue. Im wondering if they changed the way physics is applied to the ship and and the way wings change flight characteristics... but i can't find any info on this. any ideas anyone?
  15. Im thinking the game engine updated for x64 stability and It sure would be nice to have some kind of stock flight computer. MechJeb is a little much... kinda feels like cheating. Engr Redux is nice but it needs some kind of programmable auto pilot, maybe like K-OS. I don't know about everyone else but something like this, for me, would do away with several mods i use that have a lot more function than I use. Several of the mods kinda overlap, that causes issues in x64 (not sure about the 32bit) but you can kind fix those issues if you can see... which mods are conflicting. It is a pain... I guess my point is that I would like to use a lot less mods but some of the mods have really spoiled me and I can't do without them now. Thanks yall! Keep it up, this game keeps getting a lot better!
  16. ok. I am taking your advice here and I have taken the advise of others, thats how I got on 3dsMax in the first place. Thats how I found your Thread too. 3dsMax did allow me to start using the interface faster too. Blender just looked... alien to me the first time I looked at it. lol I am trying to move on, get organized again and I guess start over. I may not have ever posted this Thread if I had found the one you took over first. But posting this did allow me to find it and it informed me that all the info I was finding prior to posting this Thread was worthless. Im writing the outline you suggested i do and I will post it in a new Thread, like you suggest. Once again it is full of garbage and I have learned enough now, that i can see that. I am trying to find more up to date stuff as I go but I am not finding much, I guess i do not know where to look for it. I will post it as soon as i have it finished, i guess and shoot you a link... it sure is frustrating, knowing ill have to go back and change all of this
  17. That is exactly what I am trying to do Claw. I hate that the way I found out that I had been learning old stuff was posting this Thread. I am very sorry I have not had time to finish going threw the correct methods and update the old material I have been using to learn this. I am going threw all the information as fast as I can while learning it at the same time. This takes more time than just reading it once. I have an update spot up at the top, informing those who read this that the info is out of date right now but i am working on it. I just have to get there and people attacking me personally, like I feel that sumghai did on the other Thread i posted... Takes the fun out of this for me and since I am a confrontational person, I feel the need to work it out with him so Im wasting time I could be using to learn. I can't tell you how surprised I was to find out he is a moderator when i tried to put him on my ignore list. I should have realized he was, because he is the one who moved my post but I didn't. I do need direction... if I get off track... but Im just starting to go back over the Part Modelling Guidelines, like Cpt Kipard suggested and i hope the source of info i use is much more up to date. I won't know that until i get my outline posted here. I sure hope, what ever problem sumghai has with me doesn't effect the help I have been getting already. I am trying to do my best to add content that i wish had been here and i hope it helps others not run into what i have. ok I have wasted enough time, I need to get busy. This is what i am talking about, and this is how I would have said this to you, if I were you. "my suggestion is learn to make a proper mod for KSP first." (leave your opinion out of it, if you can't be nice) As this is exactly what i am in the process of learing, this statement is a waste of your time #1 and a waste of an entry on my Thread #2 and #3. Sorry, but it makes you look bad. So, if our personality clash so badly that we can't get along on my Thread... don't read it and don't help me, but please don't try to hinder me. edited: Im not happy about the fact that it seems, you and I can't get along.
  18. Did I offend you in some way, that I don't know? If I did, that was not my intent. I did not say that I have never used solid modeling software but it was a long time ago and a lot has changed since I had a need to use one. So, when i read your reply, I WAS angry after reading your first argument with me, and did not finish reading this until today because: you either did not read what i wrote, or you did not comprehend it. I am finished with this thread, and I have what I was hoping to get out of posting this Thread. Im not here to argue with you, or anyone else, I could use your input without the personal attacks. I am here to have fun and learn this stuff, and not have the fun taken out of it... by someone acting like you in this post. I know the info on my other Thread is out of date, I found out how out of date on the first day I posted my outline and have not made it back to updating that stuff yet, but i will. It is a pain that I started learning this the old way and already have to go back and re learn a few things correctly. But I got the info from HERE and I am hoping, when finished, that this will help someone else keep from running into all the... garbage i have. The tutorial does what I created it for, at least for me, and one other person. Someone had advised me that i could start with 3dsMax and it might help me transition into Blender. They were right, it did. So I am open to direction offered to me, but I will never tolerate someone speaking down to me as you have... in your, childishly, broken down response to my response to you. I would appreciate it if you stopped the personal attacks, and only share criticism that i can use to make this better or don't comment at all. I am smart enough to see that I could have learned something from you but i still won't tollerate this behavior, so I have access to your knowledge... its already more work than it is worth to me, I shouldn't be feeling the need to post this Publicy to you and i should be learning not dealing with you, since your a moderator and i can't put you on my ignore list. I do listen to and take the advice of other authors but I can't just pour the information they show me into my brain I have to learn the correct way now and only then can I update my out of date material... THAT Is NOT MINE, It belongs to ...KSP, I guess. I understand things are changing fast for this game but i should have know how out of date the material was B4 I posted it on my Thread.(posting the thread, when I did, saved me time and accomplished a purpose i didn't know it would.) Im just thankful i didn't get farther into this b4 realizing what a poor source of information KSP wiki is for learning the correct methods. A noob is going to go to KSP wiki long b4 they ever find my Thread, if they ever do. So as far as me spreading outdated information Thats on KSP for not updating the Wiki info. PS I re-posted those to my blog, yes sir. I had a reason to do that and you just gave me my answer. The first posts in my blog were when I found the Blog button. PSS I am finished replying to this Thread, as it no longer serves any purpose, and I am not going waist my time arguing with you or anyone else from now on. PSSS So, either you and i can work this out between us in PM's... Or let it go and move on. Or we can talk with Navy4422 and see if he can help us get this worked out. I don't wish to escalate this and would rather just let it go, if you don't wish to talk with me like an adult. regardless of what you decide, I am not going to waist anymore of my time trying to explain what i am doing to you. I just want to have fun and learn. If you wish to reply to this msg, please PM me.
  19. Ok, Im not sure if it was your intent but this is insulting. How are you judging my "dangerous lack of understanding" of the established workflows used in KSP, when the purpose of the tutorial is so that someone who has never used blender... or any other modeling software... can become comfortable with the interface, and thats it. This tutorial belongs in the section of my project called "Choosing your programs" which is Step One, (at the very top) of my project (WIP: Creating an Asset from start to finish) b4 I have even talked about folder design. (and yes, it is going to be a while b4 I finish it. I just started putting it together, after trying to use KSP Wiki Tutorial:Making an asset from start to finish and finding that the info was so old that none of it worked.) Like I said I started with 3ds because the tutorials, in the software, allowed me to become comfortable with the features in Blender that I was unfamiliar with, after using the software for 2 days. Since Blender is free and i won't have a timed trial to worry about, and since most people are using it for KSP, my intent has been to focus on blender, which is what I am now working in... I do appreciate you taking the time to type out the typical workflows used for modeling in KSP, as this is the first time i have seen it... so clear and to the point, so on that I thank you. When I get to the point I am addressing the workflow, I will make tutorials for each step that must be taken and not overwhelm someone with too much information all at once. like it would do if i included everything you pointed out, in your reply to me, all in one tutorial. My plan is to try to keep the tutorial taking users about an hour to do. But i guess you expected this one little tutorial to cover all of it, after clearly stating SKILL LEVEL Beginner I am not a beginner when it comes to using solid modeling software, but the software I am use to is just too much when Blender can do everything I need for KSP.... I am doing all of this so I can be proficient in C++, my 6th and newest programing language and I am teaching myself. That is my payment for Adding this content to KSP. I am so sorry my tutorial did not cover what you expected it to cover but what you expected was not the point of the tutorial. Really???¿, I thought it was a place to come so that you can also learn how to make mods yourself if you want to. I am not writing a blog, if that was all i was doing, I would just copy my learning notes into a blog. I am trying to create a place for people with 0 experience can come to learn how to create their own stuff faster than I have been able to... #1 find the info and then #2 learn the info and #3 reproduce the information in a friendly and none intimidating way. I understand that you know more about this than I do, as you said you are also an add-on author. I am a hobbyist, as far as this goes, but I need the C++ for other things and I really enjoy using KSP to learn it. If you intent was to insult me, you succeeded. If your intent was to discourage me from continuing, you failed but i can see how... if you talk to all the new people this way, that it could discourage them from ever posting on the forum's... who know, maybe that is your intent so you all can cut down on all the data people might store here. IDK But I do think that nobody should feel like their intelligence has been attacked after posting on this forum because you have no way of gauging anyone's knowledge by a few words they post. If you were, honestly, not trying to be insulting... Next time you might try putting yourself in my shoes and read your response like you are the person you are sending it to and see how you would take it before you post it. ya know, people like me are free help and could become valuable to you, once we learn enough to be productive. Edited: I have what i needed when I posted this now, this can be removed now if you want to... but im leaving it here for people to see
  20. I am on it. Really, I just have not had time to get very deep into the Part Modelling Guidelines, after realizing how outdated that page is. Im not committing to this yet, but I think I will be. As i have never updated any wiki info b4... I think I can update wiki without too much trouble so i think i will be doing this. I sure hope there is a faster way to upload changes to wiki because the way I have to upload my tutorials to this Thread, with the images, takes me all day. lol When I have a chance to look at it a little closer, maybe later today... When i do, Ill let you know for sure if I will be doing this. Just to keep my info, kinda in one place Ill put it on an entry here on this Thread, and when finished Ill move it to its own Thread. Ok, I didn't post this yet but OK lol Ill come back to this but Im out of time right now and have to run... just wanted to say something about that first tutorial i did... its really about learning and being comfortable with the software, not modeling yet. It also will give a quick example of how Ill be teaching this stuff... to myself lol
  21. Starting Blender for the first time If you are familiar with Blender 2.4x or other 3D software such as Maya, 3ds Max or XSI, you will immediately notice that Blender is quite different from what you are used to seeing. However you will soon see similarities with your previous software, like a 3D Viewport, an Outliner and a Timeline. If this is the first time you have used any 3D software, you may be a little lost. Fortunately there's really only one rule when you want to learn 3D with Blender: don't be afraid to explore and experiment! After starting Blender, take a look at the splash screen where you will see the Blender version in the top right-hand corner. The left side shows you some useful links like the release log of the version you are using (what's new in this version), the wiki manual (what you're reading now) and the official Blender website. These links are also accessible from the Help menu. The right side lists recent blender files (.blend) you have saved. If you're running Blender for the first time, this part will be empty. This list is also available in File » Open Recent. The interaction menu lets you choose a keymap preset (by default, Blender or Maya) are available. Blender Download Page (just noticed they relased the new version on 10/4 so I have the wrong version right now.) The left side shows you some useful links like the release log of the version you are using (what's new in this version), the wiki manual (what you're reading now) and the official Blender website. These links are also accessible from the Help menu. The right side lists recent blender files (.blend) you have saved. If you're running Blender for the first time, this part will be empty.
  22. Wow, I like your Thread Cpt. Kipard. I wish I had found it months ago!!! lol nli2work gave me a link to it... last week I think but i just had time to read some of it. You have what i was looking for when i started creating this Thread. My first tutorial isn't specific to KSP at all but it did allow me to become more comfortable with Blender, which is now what i am working in. It also showed me how I can change the Blender tutorials that i do, make them specific to KSP, and re-create them here. The whole time i was making the 3ds tutorial I was trying to think of a way to make it more specific to KSP... the only thing i could think of was making a cannonball for the cannon to shoot and making it a planet with it's own texture. lol I thought about finishing up that animation and putting in the planet/cannonball and have the windmill blow up but Im in blender now so... unless i finish that one in Blender I may not go back to it, not sure at this point. I sure do appreciate any feedback you have for me, on this thread. My intent is to make all my tutorials, look at least as nice as the one I finished today and be just as easy to follow. I hope both you an Mu like how this turns out!
  23. I am glad you made this point, thank you. When you have an Exception, is it from what ever is logged in the previous line in debugging?
  24. This is an extremely small piece of my project and is intended to get someone, who has never used Blender, comfortable with it. Yes, this is 3DSMax I am starting out with because I am use to OLD CADD software that is not intended for this type of modeling. I haven't used it in a while and found i am behind the times, a little, and need to learn the terminology they use in Blender. 3dsMax has better tutorials, for this purpose, because it is not open source/free. If you noticed, this tutorial, was the last entry in my Thread WIP: Creating an Asset from start to finish. This is the first tutorial of my project. That animation needs a cannonball and particle effects added. (we can make the cannonball a planet lol) Its going to take me a little while to get enough done on this to really start focusing on KSP and creating game specific situations, and actually start writing code. At this point, I would like to see if this is as easy to follow as I think it is. Generally, a person just can't evaluated the ease of use on something like this, after writing it, because they know what goes in-between the lines. The feedback I am looking for is so I can fine tune this so anyone who try's this will have 0 questions or need to comment on the the Thread at all. Like I said, I think i covered all the questions one might have while doing this part of my tutorials. I agree, if a new person did this one tutorial and didn't read anything else i have been working on, they could be... misled a little but if the only thing they read and learn is my first tutorial, they will never be creating mods anyway. Did I miss the point of how you think this will mislead new people?
