  1. I have had a scansat probe around the mun for some time, and have decided i am to build a base near the arch also.

Its not flat, theres a bit of a gradient the closer to the arch I get but i'm hoping it should be ok, going to be landing modular segments anyway.

    Nice screenshot Dmagic! Inspirational!

I was thinking directly under the thing! hehe

  2. I try to get everything back on the ground safe, it bothers me to keep seeing it there knowing its worth credits. Eventually if they dont land themselves i'll remove them. i have 30 flights in progress, probably about 60 or more launches have only 6 things of debris, i've removed about 20 or so things probably :s

  3. I hoped never to end my career mode, I am still playing .25 with mods and have done the mun, minmus and have made ships for duna, jool, eve for contracts. Had 6 million in the bank at one point, spent 5 on jool and duna vessels. Wasted about 2 million litterally. Planning pointless visits to the mun, wondering if i can profit from kethane, or other resourcables :s i got a nice minmus kethane base, would rather build another one than move that though.

TBH i thought it would just keep spitting out contracts, and like now i have to think about a budget, all of my science goes to money i unlocked everything in the tech tree.

  4. After building a few stations with mods where individual segments would be built to dock themselves, the part counts were getting stupid high so I had to make a seperate orbital contruction bot thingy that could grab things and put things into place. Heres my Spider v2 :

Featuring 100% rcs control, little mono engines for slightly higher isp for non docking maneuvers, can work unmanned and the capsule can be replaced for another docking port, the hinges from infernal robotics move 180 degrees and using your KAS kerbal attachment system when manned can strut up the heavy loads around the arms for better control. Cant find a screenshot with it in action im afraid... v3 in the making using interstellar beamed energy & standard fuel, refueling the rcs is becoming tiresome.

Heres one of the space station it helped built, i was a bit sloppy cleaning up the unused strut end points :/

my kethane space station it built this was a pleasure to put together lol:

Heres my LAND CRAWLER intended for a mission at the mun arch!

Featuring amusingly adjustable legs, a robotic arm, towing lifitng moving capabilities, central weight distribution for launch. Going to set up a couple of mun bases, been thinking for ages to make a land crane thing, might be fun to try to build a modular land base or two. The modules are in no way even thought about, some will be horozontal, some will be vertical. haven't got much past that really, tested it up to 80 tonnes on kerbin, that was the limit lol

Just now finished the launcher, the mid stage, and a somewhat wierd lander for it, still just finishing up and ofcourse not tested :P

  5. How confusing, I was under the impression the kethane engine would work even after it had no air.

I got my "kethane-2-space-launcher/lander" ship (equipped with 4 of those bad boy kethane engines ) all the way to minmus only to find it got flameout and wont start.

I'm sure it says after it runs out of intake air it runs on just kethane, alas i guess not :(

Really nice space planes though! Amazing that they're working with kethane i still haven't seen, heard or felt that engine.

I did wonder about adding the intake air tanks, but there's no way to refill them i dont think.

  6. I never realised to build the space station in its entirety in the vab before splitting and launching, it makes so much sense!

All these space stations are wicked really nice space stations, heres one of mine

    >Solar panels extended

Dmagic orbital science parts, building another kethane space station around minmus for fuel producs. Infernal robotics hinges to move the girders. Aha these screenshots are from before the kracken the solar panels were clipping on the girders, my V2 solar array folds out nearly twice as far but only has solars below and above, no side solars.

Fun times, your stations are all cool! Thanks
