  1. Nice idea! Did you get it from the Colony project by any chance? I'll submit a rocket soon.
  2. @RevanCorana: Yes, it would stay in Low Laythe Orbit and use Automated Dropships (The MK3 ones) to deliver modules down. The faring in the front would the separtate, and the crew would land and start the colony. Oh, and about the dropships, what I meant was I take your dropship, replace the cargo bay with fuel and ditch it when it is empty. It would look cool and add DeltaV. I have and use KAS, but I don't want to use this because it would be cool to make it stock. @EladDv: I meant that we would use you base modules and use the Dropships to deliver them. I know your landers can land on their own, but I'll scrap the Retro-Rockets so we can use the dropship. Also, just a reminder, I'm trying to even everybody's work out, but the more you post (more ideas, crafts, ect.) the more your ideas are in the final product. DMSP
  3. When you think about it, that is true. Kinda sad though... I wish the world was not like that, but that'll only be in my dreams.
  4. Exactly. RevenCorana made a wonderful dropship for base modules, and I can change it to make a fuel version (No rockets or cargo bays) and pipe it down the structure to the Propulsion Stage. That strategy would: a) Save parts Increase DeltaV c) Get rid of modules we don't need, keeping the colony to the minimum. (A good thing, it becomes more playable and enjoyable).
  5. sdj64 said it perfectly. Your nuclear motors are incredible, but we're already looking at a massive part count. However, the Nucs are not out of the picture yet, because the final craft isn't out. A puller might be tough to make but it would decrease wobbliness. Again, Delta V is not really needed because this is direct to Laythe, but what I'm worried about is Aerobraking. If we did that, we would need a heat shield. Maybe we could use the massive fairing in front. *Back to testing* - - - Updated - - - Yes, Delta V could be another problem. Maybe not a big one though. We could sacrifice some cargo modules for fuel pods and use fuel tanks for the structure. The burns with Nucs would be challenging. If we make the fairing big enough, we might be able to use it during the Aerobrake(s).
  6. Alright, I really think we need to use a chemical stage. Now, the problem is wobbling. So, what if we get the rockets to pull, not push! I have an idea for that. Also, with VTOLs, we need a reusable Laythe SSTO dropship. It would mean less partcount for the modules. This is my most popular thread by far! DMSP
  7. Alright, crafts being downloaded ASAP! My phone turned Nucs into Mica. Don't ask...
  8. Thanks man, great ships! We have a chemical stage and the mica might lag a little, but everything else is awesome! Also, about workload, everyone build what they want, and I'll make it effective for the project and try to even out everybody's creations. Glad to see everything is good. Everybody keep posting creations! - - - Updated - - - Oh, and also, everybody post download links! - - - Updated - - - Updated the title, anyone have ideas for a more effective or catchier one?
  9. The more, the merrier! Apart from part count. Yes, VTOLs would be cool!
  10. ? C'mon, that's unfair! I only replied when I got home, and your posts where ......... by then. Really, not cool. - - - Updated - - - Also, I'm not mad at you or anything, and you can leave the project if you like, but that's kinda rude to also delete your posts, we could have used them because you are an awesome builder. I understand you are a real person to and you also might be going through a difficult time, and I am fine with anything, completely fine. I'll leave on that note, I hope my outburst didn't make anyone mad. Peace Out, DMSP gone. - - - Updated - - - Huh, funny, post #666 was not bad. Take that "Number of the Beast"!
  11. Also, didn't you build a lander? It was Mk3, and sorry if I didn't get a good look at it but we're buying a house and I only had a minute to look at it. All your posts have been replaced by .......... Why though? - - - Updated - - - Wait if I can build the Antenna?
  12. Anything new coming? That shiny thing is interesting! Cant wait to see the new ships and new banner!
  13. The round8 survived. I have 20 art drawings that are uploading now.
  14. Hey, no prob, the base is in orbit, waiting for Laythe window. Actually, that base would be great for this! Mind if I use it (And strip it down)? That looks really good! I had an idea; that we could use some Farings for the antenna to cut down on parts. How many parts is the dish? Otherwise it looks wonderful! Have Rep+ - - - Updated - - - Dangit, must spread rep. - - - Updated - - - Yes, also, can I have a download link so I can test it?
  15. DMSP

    .

Wait, is this 1.0 or no? It seems cool and I would want to use it: A) For my station. To deliver ComSats. C) As a lifeboat for crew ships. D) Delivering KAS/KIS to CTVs, which go to the Mun or Minmus to deliver the Items. E) Landing Boosters.
  16. Thank you! I made a giant fairing and now I need a crew habitat to go inside. - - - Updated - - - Well, I'll need a habitat with space for 100 kerbals, and under 30 parts. Nothing big, just use MK3 parts.
  17. ...... - - - Updated - - - Alright, less parts, the better! - - - Updated - - - Yeah, but still, if it is Duna capable, then it is great for Laythe. Building sections of the craft now. - - - Updated - - - That would be great help, and yes, the module would be that size! - - - Updated - - - This will be great, but the link won't work! - - - Updated - - - Well, this is a colony ship, but yes, escape systems would be great. Working on it. - - - Updated - - - We could use something like this, but I think, to save space and part count, we could make a separate ship (Someone else's idea) for Kerbals so we don't add lag. - - - Updated - - - Ok, how many parts. We could modify that into the crew carrier! - - - Updated - - - Can't wait to see what it is! - - - Updated - - - Working on it! Yep, needs VTOL and we also need a way to get the decent stage/lander away (out of physics range) from the base. The modules probably will be able to, but I have an idea if the fairing won't work. I don't think it will come to that though. Also, some parts have enough heat resistance to make it through the atmosphere. And also again, some modules will keep their farings for Laythe landing. Yes, part count is a major concern, and that's why we might need to make 3 or 4 ships. - - - Updated - - - Another great idea. I'll start PMing people for download links so I can edit these for the ship. - - - Updated - - - The fairing is exactly what I had in mind, and also, these craft are not reusable. This is a CSV (Colony Set-up Vehicle) so it's not coming back. If we tried, it could be, but it might be way to hard and have to many parts. - - - Updated - - - Ok, construction tricks are the best! - - - Updated - - - Going through this and editing it now! - - - Updated - - - Again, this is a great stage! - - - Updated - - - Alright, that's it, read through it and I am working on stuff now! I'm so happy to see how many people are contributing! Also guys, not to be picky, but, it's DMSp, not DSMp. Also, no need to worry because so many people call me that
