  2. both your craft and the ones in that video where rather interesting. I like the automobile concept the most, but i feel like there could be a better design for it, real life wise. never the less, they look great man.
  3. So after playing a ton of GTAV the other day, i thought to myself that that hydra is a fun little plan and could probably be pretty easily made in KSP. Naturally, about 30 minutes later, i had myself a working replica. There are a few things im not happy on. The wings where a pain, ballast in the fuel tanks could be better, had to have an extra vtol jet to actually get lift force needed. besides all that, it flies decently well i would say! Has some roll issues from the wing angles im pretty sure, the flaps have been set to 60-70% and the main engine doesnt vector.   4. im just speaking in general about the "hinge" you can make with stock parts. At least my understanding of how they work anyways. Ill have to try it out again sometime and see if anything has changed/get a better idea on how to accomplish things next.
  5. My limited understanding of this game and my inability to actually get to space. Thus i make planes all day! Plus part of my problem with that is there's only 2 real position the engine could then be in. Forward or down. While for the most part, this is fine, there are instances where half way or a mix of inbetween would be wanted. Mainly for things like a STOVL or STOL system.

  7. So i have never seen a craft or replica or anything of the Honda jet before, and i decided to try and tackle it for myself. It wasnt all that hard and im quite happy with my end result to the point i would like to share it with yall! Unlike the real thing, this doesnt have winglets as i couldnt get them to a fit i like. It also only seats 2 instead of 5. excluding pilots. It has a range around 3500km with normal fuel load and can load an additional 90units of fuel. As always, my crafts are tested to take off, fly, and land without any external assistance (other than the possible SAS). While im not sure the stall speed of this craft, i have bought it to landing at 55m/s still having pitch control with landing flaps. Anyways, enjoy and let me know what you think!   8. Well i wasnt really shooting for a replica, more something inspired by. I liked how the f35 is a STOL / VTOL craft, but on stock parts, i couldnt exactly make a rear engine that swiveled. So i tried for the next best thing using a cargo bay to hide an engine. I have a few other planes ive been working on ill end up posting and such later too. most of them use the inline. Never the less, thank you!
  9. First post after a long while. Hows it going. I was playing around today after a long break with KSP, and gotta say some of these new parts are quite something! Long story short, i made a VTOL JSF F35 thing today and would like to share it with yall. Excuse the crummy pictures, ive never been good at taking "showcase" shots. There's a hidden rapier and juno in a cargo bay that provide the vtol support, as well as the main panther for the flying with nice "light the afterburner" effect. it also includes a ladder to get in and out if you so please! I have flown this jet all of 30 minutes before sharing it will yall, going though many take offs and landing both normal and VTOL style and assure you, in the most kerbal way possible, it flies. This VTOL with this MUST HAVE SAS otherwise it will flip about. Im not quite sure how i screwed it up this time but i did it again!   10. Hey man. Thanks a ton for sharing these. ive downloaded and tired out a few. Would be nice if i was actually good at docking, never the less, catching up to things in orbit. Once i do get better at it. Even so, they're amazing bases man. Thank again for sharing.
  11. So ive started to try and recreate things from movies and TV shows, even though i know squat about how all the mechanics work in this game. So, here's an hour of messing around today.... Been using this as my ref for making. Not to pleased with it at the moment but still a WIP. Its the Phoenix from the movie Titan A.E. I've also attempted the valkyrie but with a few minor errors and corrections not show in this image. and yes i was able to get it into a stable 120m orbit.

    Greetings.

    Thanks a ton for the tips guys. I've been playing around with it more and have actually got 2 planes working now. Still need to practice with my orbits. I probably shouldnt jump right into building a space shuttle-ish thing though. Still, i got one ship into orbit so far! so there's that!

    Yeah ive been finding that the rockets are easy to make, however orbits are still difficult for me. i keep doing the tutorial okay but then when i go try to make one myself, i never have enough fuel and never know where to start my burn. (height to start) the planes somewhat work for me when i make huge wings, so there's that. just very slow turning and then rapid flipping.
  14. Hello. New to KSP, as i just got the game after many days of wanting it. I have to say, its a hell of a lot better than i thought it was going to be. I do have question however. I quite enjoy sandbox mode, getting to make anything id like, but i can never seem to build a plane that actually flies without being horrible sluggish or flipping out of control on take off. Is there a trick or something to building the space planes or are they just some better than others at not horribly failing?
