  1. Hmm thanks for the advice but I play on carreer mode so i'd like to not start all over again. I would just like to not spend science on empty nodes. Do you suggest i delete all my mods and install only the 2 you recommends ? Whats would OpenTree bring me compared to CommunityTechTree ?

  3. I've been having CTDs but always with an error message from ksp.exe. This time the game just crash in a split second with no warning (lag or any kind of bug ingame) and no error message back in windows.   5. Hi, i'm noob. That said, when I start a new game the MK16 parachutes reads : - semi-depl effective diam 0 - fully depl effective diam 0 result : crash, death, destruction, etc. my list of mods : any idea ?
  6. ok thanks guys for your answers Getting the contract done was important for RP reasons, but i guess this can wait for me to install Real Solar System and Survival mods and get some serious stuff done. For the moment i'll just unlock more of the tech tree and see how far i can improve my skills. A few more small questions though : 1. If i want a polar orbit on Minmus is it better to launch northward on kerbin then transfer to minmus, or get an equatorial orbit of kerbin first, then adjust trajectory toward Minmus ? 2. Why is there no biome map in game ? Or did I miss it ? 3. I use [X]Science mod to track the sience I have to get when i go somewhere, any better recommendations ?

  8. Hello ! I started playing again with the 1.0.2 release after a long break. I installed Mission Controller 2 among other mods. I'm in a carreer mode. Here are 3 questions for you : 1. At some point I was proposed a contract to build a space station around kerbin but decided to postpone it for after i went to Mun and Minmus. Unfortunately when i came back i was not proposed the contract anymore. instead I have contracts to build space station around Mun and Minmus which is far overkill for me now ... Can i debug the game or MC2 so i find the basic contract back and if yes how ? 2. What is a good space station design ? What is needed exactly ? I watched several youtube videos on this topic but everyone seems to have different views ... so i'm a bit lost. What would you recommend I start with ? 3. I heard mining planets and moons is now in the stock game ? What is the required tech for this ? Will i be proposed contract for this or do i need a mod(s) ? Thanks
  9. i play KSP for 2 weeks and the carreer mode is perfect for me. Few parts to mess with in the beginning, few easy missions to get going with the mechanic's, nice rewards for the efforts. I only wish it would give missions only for the technologies i have, or else, that the part needed for test would be in green, while a part in a technologie i dont have would be in red.
  10. As a beginner i would like : - more explanations on parts. The funny texts are great but sometimes you dont know what a part is used for. - more easy tracking of gathered science and remaining science to gather (especially on biomes...). You could have a map mode that would show biomes/special locations on moons with science numbers. - a mouseover tooltip on the prestige bar to show your current prestige and more use for prestige in general
  11. i got the game for 2 weeks but i've been playing 4X / space sims / strategy games for 3 decades. I like the career mode as it gives me a progression with objectives and rewards. I wish they would expand the career mode. It could look like a "campaign mode" in any RTS game. I also wish they would allow an "arcade mode", with easy aeronautics rules, and a "pro mode" with destructive re-entry and so on.
  12. Thank you all for your very great answers. I'll have a look to the mods you suggest after i'm a bit more at ease with the game. The next contract i'll pick is "Explore Mun" that is orbit, land and return from it for the first time. But beforehand i'd like to have solar panels. I guess a lot of science is awaiting me ! PS : this game is gold nugget !
  13. Hello all, beginner here I bought KSP last week, played around with it for a bit, and spent my whole sunday understanding how to succeed my first orbital rendezvous. I finaly made it at around 10pm after 10hrs of reading tutorials and watching videos here are a few questions: - What is "Goo" ? - In career mode, what is the most efficient way to gather all the science from Kerbin ? I tried launching rockets and go for each biomes, but I either end up too short, or bankrupted. - When you ask for a crew report, how do you know at which altitude you will get new science ? Is there a hidden increment of several thousands meter at which science "resets" ? Or a period of time after which it resets ? - Same question with "goo containers". When are you suppoed to re-use them ? - Finally, there are hundreds of mods out there. Can you recommend a good pack of mods for beginners to enhance the base game but not make it too "elite" ? Thanks in advance
  14. beginner here. I spent my sunday reading tutorials and watching videos about orbital rendezvous. At around 10PM i finaly met my kermann in space, only to find out the command module was already occupied. I went to bed crying. Today i made it. Hurray !
  15. Beginner here, I spent my whole sunday reading tutorials and watching videos about orbital rendezvous to complete my first kermann rescue mission. Around 10PM i finally suceeded to approach the poor kermann floating in space, took control of him, had him grab the ladder, then i realised the capsule was occupied. I went to bed crying.
