  1. Wrench. And I noticed another thing about manoeuvres... if I detach, say, a satellite (i.e. has probe core) using the wrench, only the craft with the original root element retains the planed nodes. I'm doing it manually since I've not researched the mini separators yet, so I can't say for sure if it's the default KSP behaviour when you trigger stages as well, or an oversight in KAS, but it would be nice to have these copied over to both crafts either way.
  2. How can do non-surface attachment in the field? Whenever I try, it just says that node can't be used for surface attach. I've grabbed a bit of fuselage, and I try to attach it to another bit of fuselage like I would in the VAB, but it doesn't work.
  3. Hi folks. I got this mission to put a probe in keostationary orbit, so I created a probe after taking the contract, put it in space, and then I realised I forgot the thermometer. Fortunately I have KAS, so I sent Bob up to rendezvous and bring one. Attached it, took my repairs team back to the ground, and finally, I put the satellite in the correct orbit. As you can see in the screenshot, it ticks off all the requirements, except for the first one that says it needs to be a new unmanned probe that has an antenna and can generate power. Well, ok, sure, it was originally missing the thermometer, but it definitely was a new unmanned probe that I launched after accepting the contract, and it has an antenna and it can generate power, so that requirement should have been fulfilled, right? I tried changing the name and vessel type as this had helped me in the past with similar problems, but it didn't work. Any ideas?
  4. Ever since v0.90 I have two versions of EAS-4 Strut Connector and FTX-2 External Fuel Duct visible in VAB, SPH and research tree: one massless and drag free and one with 0.05 mass and 0.02 drag. Is this normal? I have the latest versions of HyperEdit and Kerbal Engineer installed but I'm pretty sure those shouldn't be doing anything to the point-to-point parts...
  5. You require MOAR Liquid Fuel! (Sorry, I just couldn't resist.)
  6. AFAIK the mobile lab is the only thing that can store multiple instances of an experiment (other than a Kerbonaut), and none of the capsules allow such a thing. So you could try to bring the lab back along with the science. Or, if you're the type of insane maverick who would even consider such a perilous mission, here's a plan that might be just crazy enough to work: collect the experiments with a balls-of-steel BadS Kerbonaut and then strap* him into a EAS-1 External Command Seat and fly back to the KSC like a baus! This works because there are no needless frivolities such as "internal storage" or "pressurized interiors" on the EAS-1 External Command Seat and the Kerbonaut carries all the stuff in their pockets. *EAS-1 External Command Seats do not have sissy "straps" or "seat belts".
  7. So I've come back to KSP after not playing for a while, and having updated to the latest version, I find the camera utterly annoying. Am I fooling myself into thinking that the camera worked better in the past before there were "top" and "bottom" limits as to how far you can orbit the camera around your craft? I seem to remember being able to use the mouse to look at my craft from any angle I could possibly imagine, with the camera focused at the control pod of the craft, and this worked very well for me. In the current version though, the camera focuses on the centre of mass and has limits on rotation, which I find weird and uncomfortable. Worse yet, I think kerbals on EVA used to face (camera) forward, which was handy for flying around in space, and now they seem to stay normal to the planet surface, which doesn't help at all. Is there some setting that can give me the old camera behaviour (if I actually remember it right) or a mod that would?
  8. I haven't played in a while and I noticed that there's these Mk2 Cargo Bay CRG-08 parts now. I'm not sure how those are supposed to work though. How do I get things to clip inside in the first place, and later how do I release them? Docking ports? If you have any clever tricks and tips, I'd love to see some pics.
