1. well, i've sent the same craft so i have 2 lander to land
2. aah, crap you're right! dammit i have no quicksave to reload in order to revert to VAB.. i have to relaunch the entire thing with a new design :| duna will get pretty crowded XD
3. hi there i've this issue i cannot figure out: i have this craft orbiting duna, made of a "carrier" and a "lander". the "carrier" has a HG-55 antenna, the "lander" an HG-5 and a commutron 16 (to be used during landing). the craft is in circular orbit at 55km so ready for deploying the lander. as soon as i decouple the lander, it loses connection. the "carrier" is still connected to the network, but the lander has no signal.. at 2meters distance from the carrier.. in map view all the ships are connected, and if i display the vessel connection they look connected also after decoupling but still, the lander does not get signal.. what am i doing wrong?
4. dunno must be something to do with the landing gears, but cannot understand why.. i removed all the struts, all the wings and control surfaces, just left the plane body and gears in "perfect" installation and the plane still slides.. just a little after loading, but if a warp time the plane "jumps" up and then starts sliding like hell..
5. https://www.dropbox.com/s/ppn1wwijyiwqcww/KOEING.JPG?dl=0 not sure this works :| but i just noticed that renamed craft do not work.. so i had a Koeing 888-100 that i renamed Koeing 888 and it uploaded a new one.. but if now i reupload the same craft it works..
6. so i have this plane, a boeing 777 replica i made by myself.. i can't understand why, but it slides left, even when landed.. SAS on and off.. brakes on and off.. N S W E orientation.. no matter what, it slides 1m/s on his left.. even while flying, when i pitch it turns left.. this is becoming kinda annoying, do you know what may cause this?
7. hi there.. i know this is not exactly an ingame question but.. i've uploaded a craft on steam workshop, now, after flying it a few times i made some correction and wanted to make a 1.1 version of the very same craft, using the verysame workshop page, so that people who subscribed get the update.. but i cannot figure out how to do it, as i cannot find an update/change feature.. is there actually a way to do it?
8. you can divide time/flags n°.. in that way you have an average time needed to move to a place and place a flag.. so if it take 3 hours to plant 1 flag it's different than planting 10 flags in the same time.. in this way it becomes (somehow) a matter of efficiency instead of speed.. you can also decide to take in consideration fuel needed.. for example it can be total distance(meters) / (total time(minutes)/flags) * (fuel consumed/flags). and then add some additional bonus.. for example, going back safe to ksc can be a plus.. placing an automated colony or a radio beacon instead of a flag can also be a plus and add some points.. moving to a different continent than ksc's can also have bonusses.. and so on just ideas
9. isn't it faster to fly above the pole? well you have to keep the plane in the air for 3 hours.. with that time you have time to do at least 3 circumnavigations..
10. Here my typical SSTO mission to Space station for module installation . More detailed pics in the spoilers SSTO_Perrier taking off from KSC. Mission is to bring the Network Relay Module to the orbiting KSS_Galileo. Galileo is in circular 100x100Km orbit around kerbin. SSTO_Perrier Docked to KSS_Galileo with payload bay opened and Network Relay Module exposed leaving KSS_Galileo KSC in SIght Touch Down Parked
11. I fixed the problem by installing blizzy's toolbar so now i have my icon back..
12. nope, i don't have that mode, and neither blitzzy's.. in 1.1.3 the ican was showing by default in the ksp toolbar on the right.. the same with resources, kspedia, notifications and (usually) KER.. is there another way to activate the indicator? keyboard shortcut or else..
13. can't see DPAI icon in the toolbar on the right.. what am i doing wrong?
14. take off and land @ksc or landing can happen at random places?
15.
I don't think you are understanding this correctly, the juno engine is the 0.625m part with no thrust reverser. You can't possibly power that big of a plane with two of those engines. It isn't the 1.25m turbofan, nor the big turbofan.
aah, crap, i saw J-90 and though it was the goliath.. my bad :( i just posted from a pc that has imgur blocked for policy (cough work cough), so i did not have the other entries visible for comparison :( sorry for the wrong entry first post is misleading anyway..
Your goal in this challenge is to construct an airliner which flies by using 2 x J-90 "Juno" engines, and can transport as many Kerbals as possible to the Island runway, land, stop, take off from that runway, and return to KSC for a runway landing.
J-90 is the goliath, the one i used.. J-20 is the juno..
16.
Well, qualified or not, you landed that monster on a short runway. I shall refer to you as "Aviator certified". ;)
well, let me modify it, remove the rocket assist, and the 3rd engine and, if it performs good, then yes sir :D
17.
I think it might not qualify under this primary rule:

just need to remove the tail dc-10 style engine..
:) it does not mean it qualify as it is.. mean i'll work on the design to submit my entry (in the next couple of hours)
18. i don't think you can anchor things to the sea bottom due to buoyancy.. and clamps not working..
19. i think my first entry from the "largest aircraft on the island" can qualify.. 128 tons 100 passengers + 4 crew.. lenght: 38m width: 39m 2deck layout (A380-like) 3 engines (DC10 like) double tail fin (antonov-like) just need to remove the tail dc-10 style engine.. more pics here it has an ejectable rocket assisted short landing system that came out to be useless after discovering the reverse thrust of the J-90.. so it will be deleted
20.
OK, OP updated with current valid entries. Grandfathered in a few too, now that I've added the requirement that you must take off from the island proving its airworthiness after initially landing on the island. Spawning on the island is not allowed of course, but using hyper edit to turn your landed craft around if necessary, is permissible. Just don't say I didn't warn you if it crashes your fragile behemoth of a plane into the terrain.
mine of course took off after ejecting the rasl :P also, why my 128 tons are not listed in the weight :( i'm currently working on a bigger 5 engine plane! :D
21. i think i must correct myself.. the j-90 goliath ofcoure has the reverse thrust.. but it takes really a long time to reach full thrust, while the boosters (used in the RASL in my craft) reach max thrust outright. as i tested it in KSC, it took really a lot of space to stop the plane.. but honestly i landed at twice the speed if not more.. probably one should start reversing while in flight will do more tests this evening. Also,i made a bigger version of the plane, but right now it's still in development phase.. somehow it doesn't fly well..
22. also: the goliath has a fantastic "reverse thrust" function, that makes the RASL completly useless.. and makes this huge aicraft totally manuverable in taxi situations.. switching of the aft engine and reversing only one, makes it litterallt spin on it's center gear and it's also incredibly manuverable in the air
23. i'm planning a 4 crew +100 seat (64 in mk3 + 36 in mk2 in a two deck setup) airliner to land there.. but i'm planning to replace the fuselage mid section which is currently fuel with another crew module.. anyway the design is ready, i'm working on a way to stop it.. at the moment i'm trying a RASL (Rocket Assisted Short Landing) . but need severe improvements.. i'm posting images asap edit: images: behemoth in the hangar.. 128 tons 100 passengers + 4 crew.. lenght: 38m width: 39m 2deck layout (A380-like) 3 engines (DC10 like) double tail fin (antonov-like) RASL system.. on runway, ready for departure take off!! aligned! easy now! RASL system fired!!!! also, i've almost missed the runway! oh this was so short! taxi to the hangar, engine switched off, the captain hopes you had a pleasant flight with cikho's international airlines.
