What Are Things You've Heard That Made You Facepalm?
Dres replied to michaelsteele3's topic in The Lounge
I really shudder to think what will happen when that kid has real problems in the real world. -
I wish, that would be great XD

White Bar Group forever! I like this feature, mainly because now the rep bar matches the color theme of the rest of the forum.

Thanks!

What Are Things You've Heard That Made You Facepalm?
Dres replied to michaelsteele3's topic in The Lounge
I think a significant portion of my brain cells just died. -
To show the true and utter lonliness of the planet Dres, I would like to have my name changed to: Dres Yes, I have checked. Yes, it is not taken. WOOOOOO! And I'm totally serious. I like Dres, it's cool. For anyone who is interested, so far I have found that Gilly and Tylo are also open. I wonder how long those are going to last now (Unless there are somehow invisible shadow people named that, in which case I will be severely dissapointed and slightly alarmed.)

I have now added this quote to my forum signature. It will stand as a true testament to how weird things can get in The Space Lounge of the forum.

Sun's atmosphere : what the point ?
Dres replied to Tatonf's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
People have gone into Kerbol's atmosphere before. I can't find the thread right now, but there was one full of sundiving probes, and someone got up to half Kerbin's atmospheric pressure in Kerbol's atmosphere before exploding due to temperature. -
I'm sorry, but I can't seem to understand your username RIVERRAFTER.
-
[derail]My headcanon is mostly like this, but instead the Hive Queen is a tyrannical leader who is horrible, and all the Kerbals we see are trying to escape their homeworld to move elsewhere, probaly Laythe. That is why they are so helpful and nice, and a bit incompetent, due to being in a rush. [/derail] Anyway, I would love G-effects on Kerbals (and their faces in the Cockpit Portrait ), but I would like it as a setting, or prefferably, a slider, like the reentry heat. I would also like it like the G-effects mod, where pilots can withstand more than engineers/scientists, with tolerance going up with pilot expirience.

Yeah, I realised that it would be problematic a few hours after I posted that, but I wasn't near my computer at the time to edit it. Anyway, still looking forward to the videos, I just have a thing for watching heavily-modded Minecraft Series. (Edit: I just found the exact background color of the forum.) Why you no make two daily videos direwolf20?!

I understand that you are going to do it on a private server, but will you ever let fellow forum-goers join you? I mean as in playing on the same server, not in the recording I imagine. You could prevent Spammers and stuff by only PM'ing the IP, and I imagine most good forum members would understand if you told them not to mess with you. Also, that way it would be more of an actual "Race Into Space"

Ever hear about The Orion Drive? Anyway, I agree with previous posters, its an empty patent. It's simply to blanket everything and get a leg up on competitors, in case the technology ever becomes available for this sort of thing.
-
what?!?!? Seriously, that is rediculous. I'm glad you decided to do it on a private server, still looking forward to the episodes
-
Aww, that sucks. I'm guessing the chat problem was spam or something similar? I guess it's better doing it on a private server though, because it means no one will randomly raid your base to smithereens, and also less lag because of fewer loaded chunks with players in them.

Eh, I use Forge or CurseForge via Curse Voice (don't scream at me...), remarkably stable. I've had in 317+ mods, about 100 of them big ones, in one playthrough.
-
I'm pretty sure that its your reaction wheels in this case. I've constructed several low down rovers with the ruggedized wheels and none of them have ever acted like that. How many reaction wheels do you have on that thing? I see atleast 2. As for the water near in the administrator pool OddFunction, that would be almost impossible to fix without changing the entire way water works in KSP (which is terrible at current, don't get me wrong), because it is above sea level. Although I can't tell if you are joking or not.

The Tekkit packs are as close to being official as most modpacks are ever going to get. They are not official as in "Supported by Mojang", but they are some of the oldest and most well known Tech Minecraft modpacks, and all of them follow their Mod's modpack rules. Unlike in KSP, Minecraft modpacks are incredibly common, and most mods have specific rules for it. Some also require PM's that you are making a public modpack with their mod, but all you really do is link back to the original forum page (or whatever was the main page of the mod) and give proper credit. The PM is just so the mod owner knows, they don't often care.
-
Logic. It never fails at all.
-
Comma placement fail! Anyway, it'll be cool to see. (Edit: Them sneaky forum shenanigans, they are on par with dem ninjas, and invisible ninjas.)
-
Does anyone else remember Tekkit Classic? 1.2.5, those were the days. Overpowered Equivalent Exchange 2 Power Flowers, giant Macerator walls, and entire landscapes dominated by Quarries... Also, Galacticraft, the mod that adds the planets, is awesome. They are currently working on Centrifugal Space Stations and stuff, and I've heard word of a better launch minigame which involves actual Gravity Turns. Anyway, I can't wait to see the episode, sounds cool.

Do very old threads autolock? I've noticed that most forums with posts pre 2012 have their entire back pages (and several before that) locked, excluding fanwork forums like the fanworks forum (Oh my, that sounded so much more stupid than in my head) and the Spacecraft exchange. Is it like per-forum auto-locking feature to prevent super necros? What if one of those topics somehow becomes relevent again?

But you forget, we have infinite Vanilla Cookies, as the white bar is unchanging. (Also, who would seriously choose finite quantities of cabbage over a lifetime supply of unlimited cookies?)
-
Indeed, the entire Google images page is shoes. Strangely enough however, the actual search shows a list of flags. And now I've decided I'm not going to metaphor rep with flags, because that will make many people angry Also, the shoes metaphor would go well in the explanation section
-
But you forget the forsaken red side, on the edge of the metaphorical cookie! Also, the actual cookie itself could be represented as the grey side, either those with no rep or those who have only spectated. And the green side should get lighter near the middle, to represent the Light Green Group. Aaand now I'm hungry for rainbow cookies. I hope you're happy with what you have done.
