  1. Seriously, you win the internet sir. Along the same lines, I believe I read a little saying on this forum once, it went kind of like "vertical delta v will be lost to gravity, but horizontal delta v is yours to keep."
  2. Some suggested reading: http://mykspcareer.com/faqs/starting/
  3. Great pointers, thanks Empiro. This is something that also has me stumped for some reason. Randomly seeing an asteroid coming by Kerbin, I'll put something in orbit, but then for some reason I could never figure out how to match it's speed and path in an easy way...
  4. Sorry, meant lift-off from Kerbin. He mentioned stock so I assumed he doesn't have anything automatically doing it.
  5. hopefully this link works, here is my tylo lander. I took the mechjeb off, that is all i use, but there should be some delta v leftover as a buffer: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B7fP7yJdpBOFVnotd3dnanRwOUk/view?usp=sharing you'll also have to manage lift-off thrust so you stay under terminal, and I forget if I aerobraked at Jool or not...
  6. When I have done a manned mission to every body, planted a flag, and returned poor Jeb back home... he is awfully lonely by himself for years on end. Except for maybe Eve...
  7. I think KSP graphics are right on for the style that they want to convey. As you get closer to realistic graphics, you expect the gameplay to be more realistic like BF4 or COD. KSP is right in the sweet spot of looking good, but a little cartoony and colorful since that is the world Kerbals live in. As others have said, perhaps a little more polishing could be done, but I think the first time I got into space and saw the sunrise over Kerbin was just as breathtaking as the best scenes in more realistic looking games. That and there is something to be said for lower system requirements. I seem to be playing on my laptop a lot more, which is just using the integrated Intel Graphics 4000 on my i7-3540M CPU! Good luck with that on other games...
  8. Finally got myself landed on Tylo for the .90 explore Tylo contract. Land with plenty of delta v left over, EVA my guy out, plant flag, take sample, walk back to the lander......and then realize I didn't put a ladder to get back in
  9. Not sure but it might also be the Kerbal Engineer part that is draining it. I use Mechjeb and had this issue on my latest rocket (I don't think it was always like this?), but just did a test of removing the Mechjeb module and the drain didn't occur. It even happens on launchpad before lift-off.
  10. I had this problem last night, and since I was at 30 parts already I had no option for adding anything to prop up my ship. So in the VAB I moved my rocket far off to the side, and when I hit launch it placed my ship off to the side of the pad, where there was no problem taking off
  11. just had to make an account to say....THANK YOU! this issue has also held me back from making planes, and I've even hit it in the VAB when I do some crazy rockets (eve single launch land and return!)
