Moho, Dres, Eeloo... No Atmosphere, No Moons, No Game
CalMacDa replied to CalMacDa's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Yeah... There is much more satisfaction visiting Jool or Duna or Eve. -
It's probably too heavy and doesn't have enough lift. Try adding canards. Send pic of plane please

Moho, Dres, Eeloo... No Atmosphere, No Moons, No Game
CalMacDa replied to CalMacDa's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Moho is the toughest. It's like Tylo, but without the Aerobrake assist from Jool -
...when using kW rocketry you mix up the mono propellant tanks with the standard fuel tanks (this has happend to me several times. They all look the same)

Moho, Dres, Eeloo... No Atmosphere, No Moons, No Game
CalMacDa replied to CalMacDa's topic in KSP1 Discussion
My issue is aerobraking. You must add a lot of fuel just to slow down. I am capable of going to these planets, I just haven't. -
Moho, Dres, Eeloo... No Atmosphere, No Moons, No Game
CalMacDa replied to CalMacDa's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I haven't traveled to any at all. They are just a hassle to get to and don't have any moons. As sad as it is... I just haven't -
These planets are of little imports ts to several KSP players. I mean cmon, it's like a 3 hour trip to the moon. You get there, deploy your probe, land with a subassembly that you used on your first Munar mission, and go home. You can't aerobrake, making things even harder. Why not just go to Jool where you can visit it's moons and even fit in an Aerobrake, or visit Eve where parachutes are acceptable or golly where the force of a decoupled launches you to a 10k Apopsis. Why not Duna? Aerobrake, A Mun like moon, Ike, and a nice size planet? What is the point of going to these planets? To say that you did. This thread is for the discussion and sharing of these ships prepared to go on their voyage. Also, please answer the poll. I'm sure we are all curios to see what you have achieved. Thanks, and please enjoy the thread!

Okay Horseman... Does that mean that my thread has been... *GASP* ...Somewhat deleted?! -
The Future of Kerbal Space Program
CalMacDa replied to CalMacDa's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Yeah. Things like alarm clock, mech Jen, and flight engineer are very very helpful and improve everything you do in so many ways. -
Parkour across giant space stations.
CalMacDa replied to noahtech's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Did you read submission guide? this is a challenge which I refer to as "busy work". An under developed "challenge" which doesn't offer much of a challenge, and is just a bunch of quick loading. Please rethink the challenge before you post. Atleast redo it so there can be rankings and allow hyper edit to orbit the stations... Just please develop it some more -

Cool. I considered that, but then people might spams it. -
The Future of Kerbal Space Program
CalMacDa replied to CalMacDa's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Yeah... The Mun alone has I think nineteen biomes.. So much science, but finding each individual biome is tough... -
The Future of Kerbal Space Program
CalMacDa replied to CalMacDa's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
New planets would be ideal. Interstellar travel would maybe force them to add unrealistic features, and that could cause an outrage. -
As squad continues to develop ksp further and further, we must ask ourselfs... What is the future of KSP? What might new updates hold? When will the next update come out? Will another company create a better game? This thread is for discussing and debating these things, and feel free to veer off topic. Here are some good topics to discuss. Gas Planet 2 - A planet currently being worked on and will have <20 moons Future Updates - What will the future hold? Other Games Compaired to KSP - Orbiter... What else simulates space flight so well? Future and Current Mods - Cmon, it's a necessity to the game! Well, that's it! I look forward to seeing all of your debates and discussions! Also, please vote in the pole. I want to see what you all think

Awesome Arnie, but can you tell me the points you received so I can rank you?

"A" Research Station - Asteroid Space Lab Challenge
CalMacDa replied to CalMacDa's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
I have almost completed the challenge. I attached the lab to my space station at a 200km orbit -
"A" Research Station. Not Just a Pun The Kerbals have been expanding outwards, going to planets and colonizing further and further, but the resources on Kerbin are drying out. There is one hope. The asteroid. It contains many minerals and due to Kerbin's position near a very thin asteroid belt, the asteroids are frequently entering kerns SOI. Now before the Kerbals begin mining and collecting these treasures, they want to collect a small one and research it in Kerbins orbit. This is the next step in the Kerbal race, and will help secure the future of the next generation of Kerbals In this spectacular challenge, you will create a research station that has grabbed onto an A class asteroid Required Knowledge: Advanced Rendezvous Skills The Capturing and Placement of Asteroids Basic Rocketry The Challenge: Launch a station or add on to a current station that has a Mobile Processing Lab for effect, and a claw to grab onto the asteroid Rendezvous with a class A asteroid Bring that asteroid into Kerbin's orbit Rendezvous with the previously launched station Somehow, transfer the asteroid from the ship to the previously launched station Feel the satisfaction of obtaining all of this awesome science Mods Allowed: >KW rocketry >Mech Jeb >Kerbal Engineer You may only use these mods and stock parts! BTW: no using the cheat/debug menu How will you be ranked? Simple. The total money spent on the entire operation. Every launch, so I hope you saved your ships. Every launch takes a lot of $$$, so try to plan the operation carefully. Bonus: Rendezvous with the asteroid when it has an imminent impact to Kerbin. This makes things a bit tougher. It will cut 25% of your score Dock the science station to a station already in orbit. It is not easy. It will cut off 5% of the final $ spent If you complete both, cut off 30% of the final $ Last, to prove your work.. Required Screenshots: All ships you launch A view showing the asteroid in Kerbin's orbit before you capture it The science station before the asteroid is attached to it The science station with the asteroid docked Extras help, so post as many as you can Well, that's it! I hope you enjoy this challenge! Rankings will begin being posted right when someone submits an entry If you voted in the poll, please tell me why in a post. It helps! Have fun and check out my other challenge, Laythe Exploration :P:) (the many faces of the Kerbal)

Community interest in Gas planet 2
CalMacDa replied to LethalDose's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
That is a spectacular idea. Binary star systems are very common in the milky way, so it would be realistic, and it would open up a whole new gravitational challenge. I didn't even think of this! This is an amazing idea! PS. sorry admins, for posting two in a row. please don't take privileges from me! -
Community interest in Gas planet 2
CalMacDa replied to LethalDose's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
I strongly disagree with Squad's motion to keep improving career mode. After you have completed career mode, it is just a waste of space. Gas Planet 2 gives something more for KSP players to explore, conquer, and challenge others to, and Jool was extremely successful in this. Jool is the most liked planet including moons in the game. Another Jool like planet would be nice, and would be a great implement for the future. Eeloo would still be in the mix and there would be more moons to conquer and another great addition to the Kerbol System 1 more thing: if you are going to add yet another outer planet, give another time warp mode that is 10x higher -
I agree strongly with this statement... It is completely possible. Did you know that the average temperature on Jupiter's moon Io is on average -200 degrees and can reach all the way to 3000 degrees? If the conditions are right and the stars align (figuratively), it is possible. The chance of Laythe harboring life and having all that water and that temperature is 1 in a million, it is possible! Squad made all these conditions correct just to add this very fun moon and the primary reason people travel to Jool.

Best orbit for a Jool Space Station
CalMacDa replied to Brainlord Mesomorph's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Laythe is the best location. Refuel spaceplanes, aerobrake, it is perfect for a Jool wide station -
The Class-Z Asteroid Moon Challenge!
CalMacDa replied to NASAHireMe's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
I feel like this challenge is a bunch of busywork, rendezvousing and attaching. How long would it take, repeating steps 1 through 4, just to get a small piece for this "moon" done? -
Thank you Commander Arnie, I just did the revisions that you advised me to do. That post was very helpful, and I thank you for the third time. Right now on the mission, I just finished the second rendezvous for the space station and am now working on the SSTO. 1 more thing. How can you determine the amount of points someone got, do I just trust whatever they say or is there an easier way? Thanks for the fourth time (if you couldn't tell I like thanking people) and I am interested to see how you do on the challenge

I have, but this mission is focused on the exploration of Laythe only. The Kerbals are taking their first step to colonizing it. Jool-5 is definentally harder, but as said earlier, this is a mission focused around the Exploration of Laythe
