You just HAVE TO give this lady a Rock 'n' Roll Train decal. All hail Angus Young. -
Orbital hovering challenge
Matuchkin replied to Matuchkin's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Sorry about the fact that I do not have an entry. I will start trying to do the challenge. The problem is that I got distracted and installed RSS, and am currently too lazy to uninstall it (see comment #4 for the reason why). I can, however, try to show you an example of what it should look like (with infinite fuel, as the challenge will probably be too hard to do in RSS). That is, of course, after I learn how to post game screenshots on the forum. Also, the screenshot you took in comment #11 was exactly what the completed challenge should look like (Orbital speed=0). Just try keeping that speed for a much longer time to actually complete it. Anything more than 0m/s (that includes 0.1m\s) is not allowed. -
Orbital hovering challenge

I haven't thought about that. Let's make it from 70000m to 100000m. I'm adding an update. -
Orbital hovering challenge

5th Horseman is correct. From Kerbin's reference frame, your ships should be literally standing still in Kerbins SOI. Yes,smjjames, your attempt is disqualified. Sorry. -

You were in surface mode, meaning that you still had a horizontal velocity. Sorry about that. -

Orbital hovering challenge

Sure, I think that does. [Edit] Nevermind, that does not count. You have to be truly hovering, not slowly falling. -

I'm sorry to say, but I do not have my own attempt because I am a monstrous imperialist who sucks the soul out of poor, good hearted people. You can burn me now. -
The goal of this challenge is to take any vehicle, fly it to space and to hover there with an orbital velocity of 0. The altitude limits are from 70000m to 100000m. There is nothing more to say about this, so have fun.

Very nice-looking fighter! If you want some advice, I recommend removing the wing edges on the side , it will look cooler and remove some part-count from your plane.

Sure, jman, use anything that can break the fall. -
This might be a little too much, but can someone please make a mod that adds realistically sized stars such as UY Scuti, VY Canis Majoris, or Eta Carinae? The reasons are: 1. UY Scuti and VY Canis Majoris are both thousands of times bigger than the Sun, and that just astounds me. 2. Eta Carinae is a GIGANTIC binary star system with a luminosity of over 5,000,000 times that of the sun. It is also in a nebula and is surrounded by gas and dust that constantly fluctuates in interesting ways. Holy crap. 3. I am completely obsessed with deep space exploration. And, by "deep", I mean "thousands of light years." If those stars are too far, at least add Proxima Centauri, which is just 8 light years away and is the closest star to our Sun.

[1.0.5] RSS Planets & Moons expanded v0.12.0 Sedna is finally here!
Matuchkin replied to pozine's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Are you thinking of adding some extreme stuff, such as 90377 Sedna, 2000 CR105, or anything else? Also, can you please add Pluto's other asteroid moons? -
Holy crap that is awesome!

With 64 k installed, Kerbin slowly loses its textures the higher you go. By that, I mean that the farther you go from Kerbin, the more it stops looking like a planet and starts looking like a white sphere. What did I do wrong? Is there something I missed in the downloading procedure? I copied the 64k folder into gamedata as I was told to do so, so I do not know what happened.

SOVIET PLANES PACš By Zokesia Skunkworks!
Matuchkin replied to zekes's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
The cyrillic writing in the title will be read as SFVIZT PLDIES. lol -
When I land on a different planet, all I get to do is hop around, act dramatic, and (attempt to) go back to Kerbin. But I want action! Can someone who actually knows how to mod (not my area of expertise) create actual weather systems on the different planets in the Kerbol system? For example Duna, the game's analogy to Mars, should have massive dust storms that cover the whole planet, with a potential to block visibility and damage bases and vehicles on the surface. Jool should have winds of several thousand kilometers per hour. Venus should have a cloud covering and temperatures hot enough to melt iron. If there is already a mod like that, please inform me.

What I want is a series of parts (capsules, fuel, landing legs/gear, solar panels, etc...) that make it possible to make a lander so sleek it will basically be or look like a nose cone when everything such as landing gear and solar panels are retracted. I would want it to look stock-alike, and have a variation of parts.Thank you.

A reply to Foxster: You have to get to Duna with an actual vehicle (no editing). You can use braking engines, parachutes, basically anything that comes into your mind. MER-A itself landed by parachuting, then dropping from the capsule that had parachutes attached to it, but you do not have to do that. -

Alright, thanks PlonioFludrasco. I will edit the challenge at 12/01/2015. Thank you for your help.
