If you wanna keep those wings on the top, tilt them down id you want them to look better. I'd personally recommend putting the wings all the way down, them tilting them down just a tid-bit.

I think the wings here are too large. Perhaps remove the little stub at the end of each one? Otherwise, amazing shuttle.

There is no rocket like that, unless you want to start by sending a probe. Manned missions to any planet IRL are a big deal. Habs need to be docked in space. If you want good lifters for the habs, I might help.

Start off with stock, then go with RO and look a bit deeper into it. I never said that stock KSP is 100% realistic. Also, so as not to make you confused, I also did not say that only RO would teach you absolutely everything. In general, KSP just teaches a lot about space.

Not all rockets need fins. My rockets in RO use gimbal.
