[1.1.3] Orbital Decay v1.5.2 (17/07/2016) - Total Overhaul
Creeping replied to Whitecat106's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Yay, now this adds some extra flavor with keeping up with my stations and communication satellite system -
Okay, so I've recently decided to use the 1/10th RSS config. However, every time I load the game, all of the planets look like the galaxy mesh. How do you fix this?

Use more Gender-neutral Language
Creeping replied to amorymeltzer's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
My initial reaction : Wow, people care? Use of the word "man" in contexts such as "One small step for man", manned, and "one giant leap for mankind", are completely gender neutral. Look up a definition of the word man and you'll find that man doesn't only pertain to the male .../gender. It pertains to the entirety of our species. I don't care about terminology in KSP (how to pronounce "Mun," what is the name of the sun/Kerbol, etc.), however I think that we shouldn't use manned when we have Kerbals. Oh wait, there it is. Kerbal. So, by what we already know, kerballed could be our replacement for manned. -
You can set up your PC to play on a giant flatscreen TV and there are games that allow for splitscreen gameplay if you like that (Awesomenauts is a notable example). There are also LAN parties you can set up. And basically when you get a free game from Xbox Live/PSN+ or whatever they have, you are in the end, still paying money for a game. A common misconception stated here is that PCs are also much more expensive, which is not the case. A PC that can destroy a PS4 or Xbone only costs around $575 to $750 depending on the current prices of parts. More often than not, you will not have to pay more than $1000 for a PC unless you want an absolute powerhouse.

Okay thanks, it just wasn't clear at the time I've only used RSS for a couple of days now, trying to get into the groove of it and all. It is much harder to launch objects into space, and the farthest I've gotten is in an orbit with the Moon so far. The main difficulty is the gravity, so the launcher weight would be much much higher. I would say that a 4x modifier is good for RSS right now.
-
Is there any modifier for doing this in Real Solar System? Because I'm planning to go all out on this and try to see if I can set up a station around Mercury. Quick question too. The Original Post says "+200 per comfortable seat of station capacity (Hitchhikers, Cupolas, OKS Habitation, Mk2 or Mk3 passenger cabins, or similar - pods, cans, and cockpits do not count as comfortable seats)." Than what counts as a comfortable seat? One of those external seats for rovers and the like?

I was going to call some major BS on this, but I researched it and you are right. http://steamcommunity.com/app/236430/discussions/0/558754260389255971/#c558755529654890087 But a "bug" isn't a viable argument to say 30FPS > 60FPS. Incompetent devs aren't a good argument at all. And it is something that can be easily fixed with a mod.

TLDR - PC is better Don't get me wrong, consoles have good exclusives, but that is the only thing they have going for them. The only reason you would buy a console is for exclusives, hence why I call the Xboxes, Halo Machines. PC is better for these reason - - In the long run, a PC is cheaper. Sure, the upfront cost is more expensive than a console, it's hard to compare $700 to $300. But every game market on has sales all the time pretty much. Most AAA games on console are $60. An AAA game on PC would be $30 at most during a sale. - Larger indie market. There are tens of thousands (maybe even hundred thousands) of indie games out there. And you can make your own. For free. Just download Unity or GameMaker and some Youtube tutorials and you can make a simple game in a few weeks. - It can double as a work/school machine. Most you can do work on a console is through communications. - You can customize it. Save up enough money and you can upgrade some parts and make your PC even better. - Less incompetent devs. More and more devs (usually on consoles) are having the mind set of "lol 30 FPS is more cinematic and we should lock the game to 30 FPS." Just look at Bloodborn (it looked like a freaking powerpoint in the game showcases) and the Order 1886. - Better hardware in general. Like I said earlier, $300 is better than $700 when paying for something, but the $700 option is 5x better than the $300 option. A $700 PC can run most mid tier, some high tier, games at 60 FPS 1080p How does 60FPS make a game harder?

Okay, first of all, wonderful mod. Second of all, I have a question. So I have 3 Comsats in orbit with sufficient antennas, power, everything. I launch a probe, and even though it is within sight of the Comsats, who are set to Mission Control and Active Vessel, the probe refuses to work because of a "lack of connection". I go to the Comsats and then I set it to target the probe specifically, and it still refuses to work. Why is this?

Chapter 3 - Vishtik 1 After the flight of Kaputnik 2, the KSAFA decided that it is time to send the first Kerbal into space. Yuri Kerman stepped up to the position and soon became the first kerbal to enter space. However, the engineers forgot to limit the thrust on the eight SRB's that lined the ship on it's launch. Yuri experienced up to 12 Gees and is currently in the hospital for checkups to make sure that he is okay. The next mission will help tremendously with future missions...
-
Kaputnik 2 successfully reached orbit! Kaputnik 2's main objective was to collect important solar data so we can make solar panels larger, more efficient, and weigh less. There were also extra instruments added to test the temperature and gravity effects of space.
-
The historic flight of Kaputnik 1 was a success! Thousands gathered to watch the launch! However, at T+1:40, when the boosters separated, they flew right back into the main body. Damage was done to the body, but we still managed to keep control of the ship and put it into a suborbital position (as intended). The first images of Kerbin were taken!

Flag courtesy of KOSMOS Space Station Parts @Krussia_SA ^Twitter Account to follow and keep up to date on our advancements^ âðü, fellow komrades! Welcome to the beginning of a new era for all kerbalkind. We, Krussia Space And Flight Agency (KSAFA), consist of many "private" companies, but we are mostly funded by the wonderful Krussian government. KSAFA started out in 2014 as a simple idea, consisting of 4 kerbals at the time. Sergey Kerman was the leader of the group. Yuri Kerman was muscle and one who put words into actions. Valentin Kerman was the engineer, while Mikhail Kerman was the designer. Now the program, thanks to extra funding in the effort to fight Kapitalism, has grew up to 57 kerbals, with thousands of supporters. Explore the solar system with us! We promise that we are much different from those of the KSA, we will be better. [0.90] ADIOS Tech Tree - V.15 - 12-03-2015
Creeping replied to Arachnidek's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Well wouldn't it make sense to add it to the "Required Mods" list then. Other than that, this is one of the best mods I've stumbled upon The career mode progression is spot on perfection. -

Creeping replied to Arachnidek's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Yeah, I guess the only solution as of now until this gets fixed is to give yourself 30 science at the beginning when you make the save (and money if you play with entry purchase) and research the necessary ones. -

Creeping replied to Arachnidek's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Umm... So I downloaded this mod for the unmanned tech tree and it only starts me with a fuel tank, an engine, and a parachute. Where is the unmanned probes? I need help -
what kind of ksp DLC would you like?
Creeping replied to Roderik's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
I don't think DLC is a bad thing itself, it's how some company's COUGH COUGH UBISOFT & EA implement DLC. Company's like Firaxis do DLC right (some big ones that add a different playstyle to their games, and some small ones that are really cheap to make expand the experience a tiny bit.) Stuff like Day One DLC and Bug Fix DLCs are bad. That being said, I don't think KSP is a game that would do good with DLC. It's a sandbox game. Most sandbox games don't need/have DLC. It's the mods that expand the experience for the player and how they choose to play. Besides, KSP is over $20 dollars and it should stay at the price it is right now for the full experience. -
MK3 spaceplane wheels?!
Creeping replied to Arugela's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Like every other thing that people want in KSP, there is mod for that! Adjustable Landing Gear has larger landing gear that can be adjusted for height and wheel+leg angle. IIRC, Squad says that they are also releasing larger landing wheels. -
What else needs to go on the mountain of content for 1.0?
Creeping replied to BrainiacBlue's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I think tech progression really needs to be overhauled anyway, Wallygator. The fact that you need tech for planes is ridiculous, because we've had planes for over 50 years before we landed on the moon. The fact that you can start manned is a stupid thing too considering that all early rockets were unmanned up until Vostok I was launched (BTSM for the win). Reputation really needs to be fixed because the only thing I think that it affects is what level of contracts you can get. The only other use for Reputation is to use it in the administration building so you can make some money and science off of it. The only way to fix career yourself is to roleplay a built in game. Like set requirement for yourself (you have to send a probe to map out the body and land on it before sending a manned mission to it, for example) so it feels more realistic than silly. Also science gains really need to be fixed. I shouldn't be able to fill out all of the tech tree with just the Mun. That's pretty dumb. -

Creeping replied to BrainiacBlue's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I agree that career has grinding and that I would prefer for there to be less grinding, but most of the grinding is early in the game when you need that 10 more science for that tech because you don't have the money to send a mission to the Mun, so you just send out a makeshift rover to go around the KSC and collect some crew reports. Besides, a lot of games that I've seen that appear to have grinding (Hyrule Warriors and every other MMO that I've ever seen) usually get good reviews despite the fact that the main concept of the game is mindlessly grinding. Everything that you said though is spot on. -

x64 support, optimization, and re-entry damage are the three main things that I want to be added before the end of the year. With Unity 5 apparently on the horizon, this could fix the optimization and x64 issues easier. The game doesn't run that bad on my computer (and I have a 6 year old HP prebuilt, pls halp me) but that is with some tone down of the settings, however at some points in a mission the game will get really laggy, plus the loading time for me is horrendous. x64 would really help us because a large majority of the community has at least one mod installed. It would really help for those that have/want a lot of mods. Re-entry is just something that I think is something required in a space game. A full Solar System would be nice, but since the next update is going to be full release (which is a dumb idea in my opinion, but Squad are the devs, and they can do what they want with the game) and I would really want the top two things to be added (along with a lot of bug fixes, ladders shouldn't go to the moon because a kerbal walks up them) so KSP looks good to the community.
